    Happy 35th birthday to me!
    Amanda M.

My husband found the Fox's Lair when looking for a venue for my 35th birthday party which was a roaring 20s theme. He could not have picked a better venue. The bar itself has a history with the prohibition era and the fact it is basically a basement converted into a bar was even better! Upstairs is a bed and breakfast so we rented the B&B out so we wouldn't have to worry about driving home at the end of the night. Since my party, we have become friends with the owners and regulars at the bar. Thursday nights are open mic night, offering music and comedy. I am so glad that my husband found this venue and that we have been able to continue frequenting the establishment supporting local business owners.

I absolutely loved this place, and am shocked that it didn't have more reviews on Yelp. Perhaps other Yelper's comments about how this is a great secret gem of Augusta is indeed true! I never would have known this place existed, even if I walked by it, but it was the last visit as part of a pub run I went on in town. We seemed to turn into a quiet, suburban-ish neighborhood and go into someone's backyard. Then voila, there is a series of steps leading to the basement of a house in this suburban area and a sign overhead for the Fox's Lair. It started to pour and lightning just as we were making it to the bar. As you descend down the steps, you enter a dark, intimate basement with all sorts of cool signs and an area opposite the bar that is clearly for some type of musical engagement type stuff. The beer selection is all from bottles out of a cooler behind the bar, but there was actually a decent variety of beer types from ales to lagers to ipa's to dark beers. Hooray! The basement seating had a somewhat British Pub style to it and our group was able to scatter around but still talk to everyone sitting around the various areas of the bar. As we finished up our drinks, the group prepared to get up and run back to our starting point. However, as we ascended the steps in to daylight, it was still dark and pouring and lightning. I and one other in the group opted to stay awhile and grab another beer downstairs. I am SOOO glad we did. I had a scotch ale and the two of us sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. She was so nice and gave us a a really fascinating history of the place. The upstairs actually serves as a guest room where you can stay like a bed/breakfast... except they don't feed you. But you can go downstairs to the bar and drink. Win. If I was ever visiting the area again I would definitely try to stay here. We had been the only ones in the bar, but people started to trickle in for a comedy show starting at 9pm. We left before anything kicked off, but this is probably my favorite place I visited during my four week visit to Augusta. Nothing crazy fancy, but it really is the intimate and unique setting that made it something you just can't find elsewhere!

Says it all. So have a good time & stay late!

We were dying to try this little gem of a pub in an historic inn near downtown Augusta. And it did not disappoint! My husband & I were the first to arrive at 6 pm, and immediately loved the cool nightclub atmosphere and the warm welcome we got from bartender Judy. Although we had to wait quite a while for our daughter and her friends to arrive, Judy was accommodating and happy to let us take up a long table. The decor is fun with plenty to see. We struck up a great conversation with a young couple who were guests of the Inn. (Hi Amy & Briton!) Shortly, a friendly crowd of regulars began to fill the place making it a lively party, even before the musicians came to take the stage at 9. We had a great time, the cocktails were good and the 30-somethings, as well as seniors like us, really digged the vibe!

Quaint venue with character and a cozy feel. Not your typical bar. Love the music from local musicians. Can't say enough good. This place is a must stop for anyone passing through Augusta. Not always open, hours do vary. If you go after 8 pm you'll probably get lucky. I can't wait to go again. Nice place for a date night.

The perfect listening room in Augusta. I love the size and atmosphere of this place. There always seems to be a good variety of people and even the open mic is a great night to hang out and discover new folks. This is attached to the Olde Town Inn as well, so it's perfect if you're coming to town and looking for a bed and a bar ;)

With new mgmt. Melinda! Love her!

The best kept secret for a "fun" bar for "everyone!" What a great olde town place to hang! I'm a fan!

We visited in December so we had great weather. BOAT HOUSE RENTALS look on Airbnb! The hostess (Beth) operates the rentals and the Sunday market along river. Beth was absolutely informative and an excellent host. This was a great experience, one of my bucket list! This was an excellent and very comfortable hotel option while we were visiting the Augusta, GA area last weekend! This boathouse lodging is situated conveniently on the Augusta marina, so there was no parking issues. The reservation process was very easy, and we had no issues communicating with the owner all through our visit. This houseboat was an older vessel, that was restored and could easily be enough space for 4 adults. On our visit we just had 2 adults, so the full size bed was more than comfortable. They also have two two size buckbeds that could be used for kids or other adults. This houseboat was very cozy and comfortable. But, I specifically want to shout out Coach Matt for his swimming instruction. I'm an adult and learned to swim as a child. However, I had some negative experiences with water in later years and wanted to conquer that and learn how to swim laps. Matt has been an amazing teacher; very patient, kind, and explains things in a way that make sense to my brain. It's clear he has a lot of knowledge and his demeanor put me at ease--both to try conquering my apprehensions about swimming and also to ask any question I wanted. I often got to my lessons early and got to see Matt working with other students, both children and adults. It's clear others also appreciate working with him. One mother told me her daughter was afraid to put her head under water before Coach Matt, and we watched as her daughter now leapt into the deep end with a smile on her face! I was only in Augusta for a few months, but if I return, I will definitely be trying to get a few more lessons in with Matt.

Planning a wedding during this pandemic has been extremely stressful. When we researched Enterprise Mills Event, we were extremely excited for our tour and hopeful we found our wedding venue. Unfortunately, the pleasant individual via email was not who we met in person. Heather did not respect us enough to greet us. She did not take the time to introduce herself to us. She did not even bother to ask for our names. When we entered the building we were addressed with " how many people are you expecting?" I was not prepared for us to experience that level of degrading and unprofessional service. She thought that little of us to not be courteous and professional but wanted to ask how long we were engaged. She appeared to be uninterested in showing us the venue space as if she did not want our business. We were informed the rental hours are 5 hours for decorations and 4 hours for the event. When my fiancé asked the cost for additional hours. She was extremely dismissive and made it known that the bartender rate would be higher. She did not provide us with the additional fees by fiancé was asking for. The level of service from Heather Bowen was extremely disappointing and insulting. We were not treated with the respect and professionalism we deserve. It could have been due to her personal biases/prejudices or just her true personality towards everyone. However, she is a poor representation for this organization. I am a registered nurse, and my fiancé and I both work for the federal government. We both know the importance of professionalism and respecting individuals. Our veterans are the reason we are employed. My fiancé is also a veteran and proudly served our country. Our wedding planner is fully aware of the situation. I can assure you; this type of poor service does negatively impact businesses.

Being from Orlando, the tourist capital of the USA, I am used to very nice hotels and service ( at a high cost), on the same hand while I can afford luxury I am ok with good: Price: You can't beat the price of the room - very fair for what you get, in Florida standards cheap. Location: It is somewhat off the beaten path and in an industrial area, and nearest expressway is about an hour away, but the traffic in Augusta is not bad, so easy to get around and many restaurants not to far from the hotel. Ammenities: I stayed on the Parliament side in a newly remodeled room ( highly suggest staying on that side as more to do and nicer rooms with a gated resort which felt safer. They have a small Cafe, 2 bars, a pool ( which was being painted on a weekend ?????) , a bathhouse ( need to clean the steam room), yet unlike Florida everyone walked around dressed, and another thing they called the pig pen, which was nice. Besides the Capri lounge my favorite part of the weekend was the fire pit on Friday and Saturday night, just a bunch of nice people having a great time and some free snacks and drinks. People: When I went it was a slow weekend, so mostly locals that lived in the trailer park next door. The crowd was older, some hot younger guys, but everyone was so nice. If you are going for *** it is readily available, however have an open mind as not everyone looks like a model from Miami Beach, but they are super friendly. Rooms : I stayed in room 1 on the parliament side, great room, lots of windows and remodeled, Small Fridge and Microwave ( no coffee pot , so bring one ) and the shower had water pressure that would blow the paint off of your car ( I loved it ) - The other hotel is just being remodelded. I would give the rooms a 10 ( just add one more chair in the front for the guest in the room ). Staff: I did not run into anyone that I can complain about, everyone was super friendly. Bars: I only made it to the Capri and looked in the other bar, both very nice and fair drink prices ( 4 dollars during happy hour and 6 after for White claws), the bartenders were very friendly, esspecially Cody and the female ( brain fart ) were exceptional. Overall I had a great time, but then again I can fit in with the richest or poorest of people, so I will come back in the future. I hear the events are packed there. Thank you for a good time.
