    Steak frites

You have to make a reservation in order to dine even on a Tuesday. The hostess was very welcoming and nice. We arrived at 5:15 and was seated at a small table next to the kitchen. I assumed the other tables were reserved but at the time it was empty. Our waitress was knowledgeable but she didn't give us all the specials like the male waitress at the other table. In order the filet mignon cooked medium and au gratin potatoes and my date ordered the steak frites cooked medium rare. Unfortunately my steak was medium rare and I only ate half of it . My date says the fries were delicious but the steak good has been better. The cocktail's was the star of the dinner. The manager gave me half off due to the fact that I didn't eat the steak which was a plus.

My husband and I decided to try this place to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint. They gave us champagne to celebrate and it was really good. We had the crab poke as an appetizer and it was amazing. It was very flavorful and the chips were fresh. For our mains, we have the steak and frites and the blackened salmon. The steak and frites was just okay. It could have been seasoned more and I didn't like that it was precut. I think they put the extra seasoning on the salmon instead of the steak because it was pretty salty. Eating it with the rice and sauce helped bring it down. Overall, this is a really nice place and I would definitely recommend it.

Winston's Tavern feels like a big city restaurant smack dab in downtown Evans. The interior is dark and intimate with clearly hand picked decor touches throughout the restaurant. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable and throughout the night we had table touches from multiple staff members. I had originally ordered the pasta which was sold out by 7:30 (which definitely means it HAS to be good for it to be out so soon) but was recommended to go towards the chicken francaise which I was so happy with in the end. Everything in the kitchen seemed to be incredibly fresh and made from scratch which is so nice to see. Started with the brown bread and butter, and one of the mocktails. Both were very good, I do wish they had more mocktail selections as all of the cocktails on the menu looked so detailed. Entrees were the chicken francaise and the steak frites. Both were EXCEPTIONAL, the sauces, it's allllll about the sauces. I think we would've ordered to-go containers of the sauces if we could for both dishes. The desserts also looked appetizing but by the end of the night we were very content by the portions of the entrees. Winston's is definitely a must for a date night or special occasion, very intimate and overall one of the best restaurants in Evans by far. Can't wait to go back and try more on the menu!

Food was so great as always! Drinks were great, and service was perfect. Celebrated my birthday and they gave us a cute celebratory brownie.

All of the food was absolutely AMAZING! The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Winston's is definitely on our fave restaurant lists now. Cannot wait to come back again. Winston's atmosphere also makes you feel like you are in the city somewhere and the vibes are so good!

If Winston's Tavern were a person, I'd marry it and send Michael the bartender a thank-you note every anniversary. This man is a mixologist, therapist, and part-time wizard. His cocktails could resurrect a bad mood, a dead phone battery, or possibly your last relationship. The staff? Absolute angels. Smiling, helpful, and actually seem to like people -- which, in Augusta, is rarer than a polite driver on Washington Road. Customer service here isn't dead -- it's thriving and doing jazz hands. And the food... my God. Whoever's in that kitchen needs their hands insured. Every bite was so good I considered writing a poem about it. Flavor explosions, happy tears, spiritual awakening -- the whole thing. If taste buds could twerk, mine were doing the Cupid Shuffle. Bottom line: Winston's Tavern is the kind of place you come for dinner and end up adopting as your new religion. I'll be back, possibly tomorrow, possibly in a sequined robe of devotion.

Starting with our drinks, we both had coffee-which I would return for the coffee alone! It was bold, curious, mysterious and honestly had me asking for the name of the coffee before I left! We had a server in training, so two servers! Both were outstanding! Quick to refill our drinks and remove plates that were empty. The food.....let me just say I not only spoke with management, I also was able to speak with the head chef to give my praise. I am not one to sing false praise, trust me. When I tell you I have never, ever, had a brunch as delicious as his!!! I am a French toast connoisseur, and his was a 12/10! There was not one bite of food that wasn't outstanding. I was truly impressed, with his creativity and his attention to detail because it shined like a diamond from the front of house all the way down to the sweet lady filling the cakes when I was taking my pictures for this review! "Let me get it all full and pretty now before you get those pictures!" I mean, if she wasn't just the sweetest thing, and took 100% pride in her work. Same with the gentleman working the omelet station. He came in the day before to prep the fish (which is a long day of work!) The love they put into each dish truly shines through effortlessly! With permission, personally, I would suggest they rename their Sunday Brunch to "Soul-filled Sunday Brunch" because #1 I left ready to go to sleep! #2 I had a religious experienced during that meal, in blessings and dining I have only ever had at Church Potlucks! #3 It elevated some fancy and some common foods to such heights, I was expect to be hearing gospel music while I ate! #4 Personally, I hope heaven's banquet table is much like today's-full of love, flavor and most importantly-community! Everyone from other diners enjoying their brunch to servers, sous chefs to the top man himself-not one person wasn't smiling from ear to ear. It's been near a decade since I've seen that many smiling people all in one place! While I will have to limit how often I come for Brunch lest my clothes start shrinking! Edgar's by far, takes the trophy for elevated dining experiences in Augusta, Ga! Best of all, a percentage of all their sales goes back directly into Helms College (located in the same shopping center.) Helms college offers hands-on education in culinary arts, health services, and industrial trades like HVAC/R. Keep up the amazing work, I eagerly look forward to dining with you again!

One of the most touching elements is the strong veteran presence throughout the restaurant. The walls are lined with photos of soldiers, service patches, and memorabilia -- a heartfelt tribute that immediately shows how deeply they honor those who served. They're Veteran-run, too, and the Table for the Fallen Heroes is a powerful reminder of sacrifice and respect. The vibe is lively, warm, and inviting -- helped by the fact that they even feature live entertainment, which brings so much energy to the space without overwhelming conversation. The burger and fries were excellent -- high-quality beef, perfectly seasoned, and crispy, flavorful potatoes. Their craft cocktails and solid beer selection were another highlight. We visited on trivia night -- Beatles Night -- and we even won second place! The evening felt fun, community-driven, and full of personality. The location is also a win, with an arcade just a few doors down, perfect for a lighthearted outing after dinner. I loved this place enough to go twice in two weeks while visiting the area. Great food, great people, heartfelt values, and a lively atmosphere that keeps you coming back.

Even from our few visits, we could tell that that's where they severely lacked. Location-wise, this place was tucked into a little stripmall-ish type area with plenty of parking. The restaurant itself was decently roomy. On all three of our visits, the food took forever to come out. Twice the servers came out to apologize for the length in time. The third time, the owner had invited and catered an elephant politician in the next room leading to the backup of food for the PAYING CUSTOMERS in his own restaurant. The owner seemed super giddy and privileged to have that politician in his restaurant even at the expense of his (again for the folks in the back) PAYING CUSTOMERS. The restaurant was rather full too so we all had to wait with our growling stomachs while the owner was fawning at the "celebrity" next door. Truly warped priorities as a business owner. So when they decided to close their doors after (supposedly) sinking every dime that they had into the restaurant, they also stiffed their employees who they asked to work until the very last day while they still owed them all back pay. True leaders would go down with the ship. Instead, these folks took a vacation to see their child graduate out of state while the employees were asked to volunteer their time to keep their restaurant open. The most ironic thing about it all is that they most likely voted in the very person who sunk the economy so bad that they could no longer stay afloat. But of course I'm sure they're still team, "Let's go Brandon." Sad.
