I was having a great time at The Hideout tonight. It is actually 2 bars, smoking and non-smoking. I was ready to give them 5 stars because I was having such a great time, but then a girl runs in screaming that there is a person shot outside. We had no idea what was happening, but I commend the staff for locking the doors until the Augusta PD showed up. It wasn't real until a guy comes in covered in blood that was helping the victim. Somebody was actually shot in the parking lot. Scary as F! Besides fearing for my life the bar was actually pretty cool, everyone was chill, the bartenders were great, efc. I guess the only issue is the bad location which isn't the safest area. Still confused what happened and probably won't ever come back to the area. read more

Won't be back. While the bar seems small and nice, they do not offer food. The bartenders do not want anything to do with you if you are not a regular. It could take up to 30 minutes to get a drink because the bartender was too busy on their phone. They do not ID anyone, nor do they have someone at the door to ID anyone who entered (which goes against Michaels Law), nor did they have anyone to help control the crowd. It would be super easy for underage drinkers to drink here. My wife was sexually harassed while sitting at the bar - the bartender saw/heard and turned around and walked away. The bartender did not try to intervene at all or kick anyone out. What kind of place are you running here? read more

This place is definitely NOT a dive bar. We were there around 7 and there were maybe 15 people there. It's just a 'local' where people hang out, play games and drink beer. Beer wasn't very good. We were really excited to find this right next door (basically in the parking lot) to our hotel. We had been on the road for 5 hours and just wanted to have a few drinks and wind down before went to bed. When we walked in we knew it was a local fav. We got our first round fairly quickly, but our second round is where things went a little sour. The bartender acknowledged me and asked me what I needed, I told her, she took 3 more "regular's orders", made those, and then had to ask me again what I wanted. I stood at the bar waiting for 15 minutes for my second round. I am a bartender and this wouldn't fly in my bar...my regulars wait just like everyone else. If I didn't have a tab going and my first round had been paid for, I would have walked out! It was a really cool little place so I would probably give it one more try if I'm in the area again. read more

Man I wanted to give this place 4 stars when there wasn't anybody shot in the parking lot.... but Monica was too awesome!

We hosted a private party (a happy hour for a group of 35+ people) at The Hideout and it turned out perfectly! The prices were great, the beer was great and the pizza was amazing! The owner was present and involved the entire night---ensuring we had everything we needed and that everything ran smoothly. The bartenders were really good as well. No one ever had to wait for a drink. There are two halves to The Hideout, one half allows smoking and one half does not. We held our party in the non-smoking half where they have ping pong, beer pong, giant Jenga and giant Connect Four. Everyone had a great time! (Some of the other reviews about the smokiness seem to be from before the second half of the bar opened up. Drinks are served in both sides of the bar, so you never really have to be around the smoke unless you want to.) We will definitely be back! I highly recommend The Hideout if you are looking for a place to host an event or if you are just looking for a fun, laid back place to have a couple of drinks with friends! read more

Definitely a neighborhood dive, hidden behind the Starbucks and La Quinta hotel. I actually forgot they still let people smoke in bars in GA (hadn't been here in 4 years). If you don't smoke and can tolerate walking out smelling like an ash tray they offer good drink specials, cheap beer (decent bottle selection), and have a few TVs if you are trying to catch a game. read more

Just left the "Martini Bar". Way better atmosphere. No pretense here, you get what you see. Darts, drinks and the Spurs game!
