    pork belly on rice
    Crystal C.

ambiance feels upscale but relaxed. like the classic vintage feel with it being set inside a historical hotel. service was fast. Initially I wasn't sure if we picked the right place to c8me to because they didnt have some things on the menu or had to disclose that they had to substitute certain proteins on the menu. However as nothing on the main plates appealed to us so we opted for small bites and so thankful we did! the bread basket was a good variety and came warm with delicious honey butter spread on the side. the lamb chop was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. really glad we got this. though there were only 3 fried green tomatoes on the plate, the outside bready was crispy and tasted really good, the pimento cheese is a perfect compliment! pork belly was flavorful and packed a lot in small bite, rice was a nice balanced. this place surprises me with some of the upscale dishes they have seasonally, will be back to try other stuff.

Service and Atmosphere is 5 stars. These two items are why I'll definitely return. Food is average. There were good items and ok items. Fried Chicken was delicious and it was a huge portion. Also FYI - it is pricey so be aware, for those that don't know.

Good vibe and atmosphere. Food was pretty good, I had the salmon and risotto, no complaints about it! I had higher expectations for the service considering the price point of the food.

Empty containers. Empty station. But the people are friendly.

I want to give this place more stars. The star is to recognize the really kind attitudes of the servers. Management here needs a LOT of work to make this someplace we'll ever eat at again. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated. The preserved style of the past are well kept. Unfortunately, some of the ambience is lost when you have laundry coming through the main elevators and waiting area. The racks of dishes were also carter through a crowd waiting to be seated. We thought the sad showing of the breakfast buffet on Thanksgiving morning was a fluke, as the entire staff was focused on the fancy brunch that is open to the community. The hostess even had the nerve to say (with that southern smile, of course), "I probably should have told you we didn't have any seats." WHAT?! As guests, and Hilton Honor members, we were extremely disappointed with breakfast even the following morning when it took well over an hour to not just our food but even a cup of coffee. There were about 3 menu items that ended up being out by the time the server got around to even taking our order. Don't even think about adding anything to your order once it was placed! I blame management completely. One cook for all the orders--about 8 big tables of 5 or more. Again, our servers were apologetic and maintained great attitudes, but it doesn't excuse the ineptitude of operations and lack of care for hotel guests. Such a shame.

Run...do not walk to 8595 Restaurant! My hubby & I went for my birthday dinner, and the food was impeccable. I had the shrimp & grits, and trust...ALL of my ancestors approved, best I've ever had. Hubby had the duck fat fried chicken with Mac & cheese & collard greens w smoked turkey... amazing. I had to thank the chef personally!!!

I dined here for breakfast today while staying at The Partridge Inn. The restaurant is beautiful and boasts an amazing outtakes dining area with plenty of places to sit and enjoy a cocktail or meal. I ate outside and ordered an omelet. The food was delicious but my service was less than average. My server forgot almost everything I asked her for and my water remained empty ever though I asked for a refill several times. The staff were very friendly but the lack of good service couldn't go unnoticed.

I'll start by saying the food is excellent. I had the Chianti Glazed Pork Chop with Roasted Potatoes and Broccolini. It was a generous portion, cooked very nicely and delicious! The decor is comforting and quite pretty. However, one wall near the end of the bar is under repair and looks pretty tacky. The hostess and bartender were very friendly. As for the overall service, it was quite poor. I had a reservation and was told I couldn't be seated for a while because they were busy. I chuckled at this because there were only a handful of tables that had guests. So, I decided to take my chances sitting at the bar. I sat there for nearly 10 minutes before being greeted. This was despite people right next to me being served refills. I ordered a gin and tonic and had to wait more than 5 minutes before getting it. I ordered dinner, which took about 30 minutes to arrive. It did come out hot but I had to wait a few more minutes before anyone brought me silverware. It was hilarious because the person delivering my food handed me a steak knife and I asked her about a fork. She said the bartender would get me a roll up. Midway through dinner and after talking to the folks next to me we both ordered an old fashioned. 10 minutes later, I was served a 2nd gin and tonic and chose not to correct the bartender because I didn't want to wait again. A couple odd things. There was someone behind the bar cleaning glasses but not wearing a uniform. Not sure if he was an employee or just some person making a couple dollars. One of the waitstaff sailed a pushcart into an unused dining area. Basically, pushed it hard and let it zoom off into the room. Very unprofessional in an upscale restaurant. The best part of my experience was chatting with people at the bar. I was fortunate to sit near some very friendly and interesting folks. To sum it up, there are other nice restaurants in town that provide much better service. I do not plan to come back to 8595 until management decides to do a better job.

Pretty disappointed with service. Waited a really long time for food. Never received a water refill. Loud noises from kitchen. No ambiance for guests. Seemed more like a social outing for the workers rather than a 4 star restaurant. Would not recommend or return unfortunately.

    Shrimp and grits

Shrimp and grits was delicious. Service at the bar was slow. It took over 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. Tht ambiance was nice and professional.

If you've never been there, they will start you out with samples of all of their lemonade (which all of them are incredibly flavorful) and you'll inevitably get one because it's THAT good. The staff comes with recommendations to help you navigate the menu and they are so attentive and helpful. I'd go as far to say that they had some of the best service in Augusta. Now to the food, 10/10 I could not recommend them enough. I've had the honey lemon pepper wings and the loyalty platter. And it was so good. The honey lemon pepper wings were full of deep flavor and they give you at-least 10 wings with the plate. The steak and shrimp are the best seasoned meats I've ever had at a restaurant. I've also had a few nibbles of their seafood and ‍. Then when you're ready for dessert, don't worry you get samples too. The blue velvet is my favorite but all of them are award winning so you can't go wrong when it comes to Nattas sweet treats. Over all, great experience, great people, and great place. Get out and support local, it'll never disappoint. P.S. if you think it's pricey, you're wrong. You get what you pay for here. You get no less than two meals out of one plate.

Good bbq dinner with a colleague tonight…read more One of the more popular dining options in the south is BBQ. This one we chose tonight is a small chain, but offers an excellent bbq dining option. It's not a sitdown restaurant. You place your order at the counter then go find a place to eat. They bring out the food to you. Once you sit down, you're served with a plate of warm biscuits. There's some sort of cheese or something inside them, but it wasn't a distracting ingredient, just different. You always like it when you get the opportunity to try multiple types of bbq meat. The option for tonight was bbq rib and pulled pork. Not only are the portions very good. (had to get a to go box) but both meats tasted super. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The ribs were large and plentiful. The ribs could've been a little more "fall off the bone", but we're good nonetheless. There's only one type of sauce to put on the ribs, but it was a good and not too tangy. With this meal option, you get two choices of sides. Being a big fan of coleslaw that was one side. The other side was corn on the cob. The coleslaw was sweet tasting. The corn on the cob had a bit of a hot bite to it. Both were fantastic. Thought to go with the sweet tea option, but since I had it earlier in the day, I chose otherwise.

Pulled up to drive thru and this is what I hear,"hello, just to inform you we are out of Ribs, Brisket, Turkey and Chicken." I'm in shock, so I did not say anything for a while. I'm looking at the menu, it's 7pm, I'm at a BBQ place with NO BBQ. The voice come back and says, "if you have any questions, let me know", "we have smoked wings, catfish, burgers that are great options". I'm still trying to get myself together, so I'm still quiet. Finally I ask for the Smoked Wings (btw: I dislike chicken on a bone) yes my fault for ordering. I order the habanero smoked wings (6) and Mac and cheese...$17! I did not inspect the bag before pulling off because I just knew this was not going to taste good- I KNEW IT. The lady who took my order just did not represent a place that serves GOOD food. When I received my bag, it was sticky ( paper bag sticky?) and had BBQ sauce fingerprints. My hands were nasty from just trying to go in bag (yuck). I get home. Wash my hands, pull out my food and there I have Smoked Honey Habanero Chicken Wing Soup. The presentation was Horrible! They did not care how they over sauced those large chicken pieces. Some of the wings were split (wingettes) and some had the two pieces attached. Mac and cheese was missing the cheese only had the Mac! I have not been to this place since they opened, it's because I'd heard the food was not good since the people left who opened the restaurant. What's sad is Jim'N Nicks use to have a good name in other cities I've visited. I'm not from Augusta, but I've been here a while. I wish employees would take more pride in their appearance and service. If this is your chosen profession treat it as such. It doesn't matter if you earn $8/hr or $80/hr. Managers should demand etiquette and staff should want to display etiquette. It starts with how YOU LOOK. How the workplace is kept. How the service is provided. How the Customer feels when they leave! I just want everyone to do better! Be better! BTW: I donated $17 to Jim 'N Nicks BBQ- I thought I could not get past the presentation to even taste the food! But I had my husband remove the meat from the bone, I placed meat in air fryer and the little meat I tasted-was not too bad. I did not try the Mac & Cheese. I wanted Brisket, so I should have left when I was informed they had no brisket! I need these restaurants to care about the locals... have an ALWAYS STEP UP mentality!

From the moment you see the brick building and walk inside, you get this warm, classic Georgia café vibe. It is cozy, welcoming, and full of character. It is the kind of place you want to slow down and enjoy. We came in for lunch and everything was outstanding. I had the Curious George, which is turkey topped with spinach dip and provolone cheese on sourdough bread. It was absolutely fantastic. Warm, savory, and perfectly balanced, it felt like true comfort food done right. It also came with a fresh side salad and great dressing that honestly could have been a meal on its own. My boys ordered the chicken quesadilla and nachos, and both were big wins. The quesadilla was crispy and cheesy. The nachos were fully loaded with seasoned beef, black beans, melted cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, plus salsa and ranch on the side. The portions were generous and the flavors were excellent. Then came the desserts. We tried chocolate cake, carrot cake, and red velvet cake. We ordered half slices and they were still huge. Every single one was incredible. The red velvet and carrot cake were made with real cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake was rich and moist. The chocolate cake was deeply decadent. Pairing the carrot cake with a cup of their coffee was the perfect finish. The coffee was smooth and flavorful and exactly what you want with dessert. We were also lucky enough to be taken care of by Reagan, who was incredibly kind, beautifully stylish, and so helpful with my boys and me. She gave great recommendations on dishes and portion sizes. Her warmth and attention truly elevated the entire experience. Between the cozy atmosphere, outstanding food, unforgettable desserts, and exceptional service, Boll Weevil is now officially a must stop every time we are in Augusta. Come hungry. Save room for cake.

When I tell you I have never, ever, had a brunch as delicious as his!!! I am a French toast connoisseur, and his was a 12/10! There was not one bite of food that wasn't outstanding. I was truly impressed, with his creativity and his attention to detail because it shined like a diamond from the front of house all the way down to the sweet lady filling the cakes when I was taking my pictures for this review! With permission, personally, I would suggest they rename their Sunday Brunch to "Soul-filled Sunday Brunch" because #1 I left ready to go to sleep! #2 I had a religious experienced during that meal, in blessings and dining I have only ever had at Church Potlucks! #3 It elevated some fancy and some common foods to such heights, I was expect to be hearing gospel music while I ate! #4 Personally, I hope heaven's banquet table is much like today's-full of love, flavor and most importantly-community! Everyone from other diners enjoying their brunch to servers, sous chefs to the top man himself-not one person wasn't smiling from ear to ear. It's been near a decade since I've seen that many smiling people all in one place! While I will have to limit how often I come for Brunch lest my clothes start shrinking!
