Whenever a meeting involves a meal I try to visit somewhere new and when the other person recommended this I was all in. Some days I go in having combed the menu and have my order ready, other days I just wing it and walk in. This was the latter. It was suggested that I go with the Sampler Platter and when I saw "A meal in itself" as the menu description I knew it was meant for me. Cheese sticks, onion rings, fried mushrooms, chicken wings, and chicken tenders. Don't even think about asking if something can be grilled or anything remotely healthy. You come here to indulge. Also, the tea is Georgia sweet so keep that in mind. Domestics (beer), always $2.75 a pint. And if you somehow have room for dessert be sure to treat yourself to a slice of that Philadelphia Cheesecake. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that will accommodate a larger group and the team here are some of the kindest you'll meet. This place has the best chili dog I've ever had and I'm so glad I tried this place out. When I came here last Friday, it was rarely busy and took a seat where I could see the TV best. My wife and I have been coming here for 13 years, but the quality and atmosphere have been in steady decline for the last couple. The last time we were here, we walked out because there were multiple tables of people yelling across the place at each other. We decided to give it one final chance... Big mistake. We ordered hot wings, fries and salads. The salads were basically 3-4 big chunks of lettuce and they are obviously using a very cheap salad dressing now. Our hot wings showed up with almost no sauce and had obviously been sitting for awhile - very greasy. The fries were cold, undercooked and inedible. And don't get me started on the service. I just had a VERY BAD experience. I frequent Road Runner Cafe on Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta Ga on a regular basis. It was extremely busy, so I waited, as usual. I was a party of one; a patron & her son got up from a table that seats 2 - I sat down. Multiple waitresses walked by without even looking my way; after approximately 15 min, I stopped an employee ( young white man ) & asked about service. After a few min, he came back with a waitress ( short/fat white girl ) , in a VERRRRRRY unpleasant voice she told that people were waiting longer than me & it was a waiting list. I have NEVER seen a waiting list in all my YEARS eating there - if this is the case, someone should have been @ the door ( no one was there ), informing potential guests of a waiting list & adding names. I had to get up from the table ( I only saw a group of 6 plus people waiting before me ). A table wit 2 chairs ???? Really. ???? Didn't make sense. I left & I am now sitting @ Red Lobster, Gordon Hwy -- my service is VERRRRRRY good so far. I am DEEPLY OFFENDED - "SHAME ON YOU ROAD RUNNER CAFE" !!!!!!!!! read more

Had dinner there last night (4/27). You've got to go try their rib-eye steak. Juicy and tender and cooked to a perfect "medium". Wait staff was friendly and attentive (don't remember her name), but service was excellent. Price was reasonable as well. This place would have gotten at least 4 stars if it wasnt for the service speed and well the servers too. We went here for a work lunch - it was me and about 5 co-wokers. The only seating available mid day in September was out side in the direct sun (of course). They were not terribly busy however, the service was super slow. So slow we were able to wait for a table to finish eating, be cleared and move so we were out of the sun. A co worker ordered chips and salsa and the salsa you could tell was poured straight from the can. I explained to her to ask for lemons so she can squeeze the lemons in the salsa and add some salt. When we were about to leave she asked for some more chips to take with her so she could finish her salsa - the server responded "i don't know if i can do that". In the end we got the rest of the chips for her. I ordered the salad - no meat - and it came out tasty and full of cheese and tomato and was just a good salad. You could tell by the water left on the plate that it was at least washed. I ordered sweet potato fries and they were not too crispy and great. Because of the speed of service it took us well over an hour and a half to eat the food and be ready to leave. It was a long lunch and slow service but the food was great. read more

I being coming here for sometime. I have eat everything on the menu. My favorite meal is the road runner burger, wing and catfish. The wing and catfish are the best two dish I ever had. If you love to play keno, stop on by and have some fun while drinking a cold one with some good food. The inside is surrounded with tv for your entertainment. After a long day at work and hating my life, a friend calls to let me know she's just had an equally rough day. We decided after a bit to meet up, eat, and drink. The place? The Roadrunner Cafe. Before this visit I had only been here once. There was nothing extraordinary or equally on the other side of the spectrum, horrible. This visit though leaned more towards the horrible side. The food was good. My friend practically inhaled hers. The drinks were ok. The service, or lack there of, was horrible. The server took our food order and we asked for a drink menu. Not once were we asked for ID (we're not that much older than 21). We also weren't asked on if we wanted our checks split or not (hint, we did). After completing our meals I planned on placing a to go order for my husband. The server placed the ticket in front of me and walked off without saying a word. After waiting for at least 20 minutes (I was checking my phone) my friend chases our server down to have her split the check. She was very prompt in picking up our cards and tickets after that. Through our whole experience the server never introduced herself. At one point there was a manager, I'm guessing, that asked how we were doing. At that point in time we were ok. When he was making his rounds again, he casually spoke with the table across from us about Magic the Gathering and other things for at least a half hour. So, 2 stars because the food was ok. It took over an hours to get our food at lunch and they were not busy. The food was mediocre.

My first visit here was a take out order. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and sweet potato fries. I was very pleased with my food since I've waited years to try this place. My daughter and I gave it a second shot and I had the sampler but I didn't like the fried mushrooms. My daughter had the chicken tenders made buffalo and they were good even though she wasn't a big fan of them. read more

The burgers and wings were okay, they not very flavorful and a little on the dry side but fine for the price. The chili & the fries were really good. The best thing about this place was the service. Our waitress was very impressive and exceeded expectations. We never went with an empty glass and she made sure that we had everything that we needed. She checked on us regularly. Our food came out in a reasonable time frame. This is apparently a local favorite. We came during lunch hour on Friday and I saw many different social classes and a diversity of people came to eat here. I would come back here. read more

Worst service ever. I won't be back. I pray my family and friends boycott this place. So I went to Roadrunners on Wednesday 05/03/17 and had the best Pina Colada ever. I praised them for the drink being so well made. Flash forward to today 05/07/17. We attempted to get seated at three different boothes then we were offered a table because the booth we were waiting on the patrons stepped outside to join the other group outside. Nevermind, that they never returned to the table. This trying to get seated took 10 mins and they weren't busy but the waitress explained they only had two servers. Finally the waitress comes to get our drinks. No shocker here I ordered the Pina Colada. The waitress checks my I.D. and seems somewhat iffy but places my order. Another waitress comes to service our table and it's covered with whipped cream and it's a virgin. I let the waitress know immediately and she gets the manager. I got my aunt and cousin to taste it as well just to make sure. No alcohol was in the drink. The manager comes and was very condescending towards our table and wouldn't look me in my eye. Just telling me that they can't refund the drink or put it back on the shelf. I tell him that I was there earlier in the week and this drink is not right. He goes on about how the bartenders are on camera and they have to pour 1.25oz shot. Cool, if it'd been in there. So he never apologized or anything just kept referring to the fact he couldn't refund it. I never asked for a refund but for my drink to be made right. So I paid for my drink and left it. If the manager had just addressed my concern. I liked Roadrunners but this isn't the first time my money wasn't respected there. I can't continue to patronize a business that doesn't respect me as a customer. read more
