Well, I've tried this place several times and I can say I'm not quite happy about the idea of returning. The food from the kitchen is mostly frozen items that get heated for your eating pleasure. The hot lunch bar is your best option on most days and consists of what would likely be your "made there" items for the day. They will have fried chicken and sides or a pork chop and sides for a normal lunch choices. The last time I went the pork chop was fried in the fryer, I believe, and was quite greasy. It was also pretty fatty, which is hard to do in the fryer. There was no flavor at all and the sides were barely edible. I wonder if they have different cooks or the same one, because sometimes it seems to taste better than others. It is a fast place to have lunch and also reasonably priced for the area. They always have great service (which is where the 3 stars comes from) and when you look at the competition there isn't much better.

Nice new "open floor plan" building

I love their burgers! It's not many spots in the area so this little spot is a gem when you need something for lunch.

Brunch is serious business in Augusta and after one visit to The Brunch House of Augusta I…read morecompletely understand why this place stays packed. While in town for the weekend my husband and I wanted brunch somewhere unique to Augusta instead of another chain restaurant, and after scrolling Yelp and seeing all the glowing reviews we decided to give this Black owned, family operated spot a try. I noticed online that you can make a reservation for a $20 fee that gets deducted from your check. At first I was a little surprised, but after seeing how busy this place is, it makes total sense. We decided to roll the dice without a reservation anyway. When we arrived on a Saturday morning there were already several people waiting outside. There isn't really an indoor waiting area, so the hospitable hostess took my name and phone number and kindly asked us to wait outside. Later I noticed the sign explaining the process. She quoted us a 40-minute wait, but thankfully we were seated in about half that time. Inside, the restaurant is quaint and cozy with a classic diner feel complete with counter seating and booths. The ambiance is casual and welcoming. If you have a larger party, there are a couple of outdoor tables that appear to accommodate around six people, but personally I think this spot is best enjoyed with a smaller group. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving smoothly despite the busy brunch crowd. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles while I went with the Garden City breakfast bowl loaded with veggies and home fries plus a salmon croquette on the side. Every single thing tasted homemade and full of flavor. This is what Southern comfort food is supposed to taste like. My husband said the chicken was seasoned well and fried perfectly, and the waffle paired with it beautifully. My breakfast bowl reminded me of the kind of breakfast my grandma used to make, comforting, flavorful, and cooked with care. Portion sizes were just right,  enough to leave satisfied without feeling miserable afterward. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. Stellar customer service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. If I ever find myself back in Augusta, this will absolutely be one of my repeat stops.

I enjoyed their chicken & waffles. The chicken was small though. Their coffee can be a little…read morestronger. Kind of small inside. Our server was perfect.
