Regardless, the southern food is fixed in small batches, as the place can't possibly accommodate more than 20 at one time! The food is plentiful and very tasty! The "Chef's House" is my go to spot to get fed in all areas of my life. The wholesome, loving, and supportive community that chooses to dine here weekly makes you feel "full" in more ways than one. From the moment you enter, you are greeted by a sweet, sweet, sweet spirt. Also, Chef George makes it his business to know his repeat customers and does his best to cater to their individual dietary needs and meal preferences. When dining in, I make it a point to fix a plate I will eat and if I choose to revisit the bar, it's a repeat. I typically don't eat a buffets because of the amount of waste that's common and that alone saddens me, so I love their all you can eat while dining-in policy. I have been coming here for over twenty years. I bring my mother for lunch and she loves it. The food is always fresh, hot and they always have a dessert. The owner and his wife are genuine and wonderful people. The restaurant is the best choice on Walton Way. They have a salad bar and a buffet with a fish, a chicken and a beef choice with veggies and Mac and cheese. They are small, so there could be short wait, but well worth it. After Hump Day hunger for something homey. Decided on Chef's House and was not disappointed at all. Even though the dining area is small it is cozy and makes it feel like grandma's house. I had fried pork-chops and they were just right, not dry like most places that over cook them. I added some rice and beans along with some cornbread which made my day. Unfortunately my stomach was completely full and didn't have room for dessert. I think if the building was bigger it would lose its appeal. The owners George and Tammy provide superior customer service like Cheers and want to know your name. Looks can be deceiving!!! Y'all have to suck it up and just walk through the door. All the worries melt away when one of the owners greets you like family. It's buffet style but don't let that steer you away either. I HATE buffets. But to every rules there's an exception and this place is it. The fried chicken was absolutely perfect and it had already been sitting there for a bit. Perfect flavor and juiciness in every bite. The fish (sorry can't remember what kind) was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The green beens still had that snap and they didn't cook all the nutrients out, also perfect. Corn bread was top tier. The sweet tea was perfect. The peach cobbler was the last thing I want to taste right before I die. So good. My only negative reaction was to the pasta and meatballs. First round of noodles had been sitting too long and the second batch was over cooked. The meatballs are to sweet for my taste. Borderline the type you serve with a toothpick. Definitely don't belong on noodles. Again my opinion I'm sure some love it. Overall. This is one of the best places in Augusta to eat. read more

This is definitely one of the hidden gems of Augusta. I was invited for a birthday lunch here and I must say I was a little skeptical when I first pulled up to the restaurant, but honey when you go inside all that skepticism quickly fades away. The hostess was incredibly friendly and welcoming pretty much like you were walking right into her home and she's known you forever. She asked if I had been before and gave me the rundown since I hadn't. I don't wanna spoil her intro thunder but basically it's health conscious soul food cooked by a real chef. Trust me health conscious did not take away from how good that food was! We went on spaghetti day, so there was that fried chicken, tilapia, green beans, collards, roasted potatoes, salad and cobbler. Y'all everything and I do mean everything was good. Their food is buffet style as shown in all the pictures but it doesn't taste like it was made at Golden Corral or something it tastes like some love was put into it. Another thing of note there's no pork in anything so if you can't have it don't worry about it they've got you covered. I dropped by the Chef's House for lunch and I enjoyed it. The building is bright pink and I'm always surprised when people tell me they've never seen it. This is a popular restaurant for many around the 15th Street/Walton Way area. The Chef's House only offers buffet, but has some pretty good and healthy selections. I had the salad bar, collard greens and potatoes. They also had broiled talapia, but I wasn't in the mood. The buffet offers fried chicken, pasta, green beans and more. They also had a peach cobbler for the dessert. I believe the buffet offerings change daily, so you can expect variety each time. The only draw back for me is the space. The restaurant is way small. There is not a lot of room for seating or moving about. You can always expect a large crowd around the lunch hour, which means a long wait. The parking lot is also small, but there are additional parking spaces behind the restaurant. However, the Chef prepares good food and for the best experience, beat the lunch crowd. read more

The food was amazing. I went for lunch and the food was hot and fresh. The owners are very welcoming and amazing. Service was quick and fast. While there it was a buffet menu that you walk up to. (Monday) there was green beans (fresh), corn, baked fish (seasoned perfect), baked chicken, white rice, macaroni and cheese, and a few other choices to choose from. There was also a salad bar with choices. The rolls and corn bread were hot and fresh. The Chef came out to ask if there was anything that was needed which added a major personal touch to service. Once it was time to leave I learned that the chef uses healthy ingredients and sticks to a healthy regiment. Keep up the great work! I'll definitely be back and will recommend. read more

This is the one restaurant in Augusta I don't like telling people about. That's because it's the best-hidden gem and I'm worried it will be too crowded when I go back. That being said, they deserve the praise. It's a tiny restaurant in a literal house and it's only open for lunch. If you pick the wrong time, you might be out of luck because there's only about 8 or 9 tables. But when you do get in, you're treated to a tiny buffet of fantastic southern food. It's easy to stick with the fried chicken and collard greens, but there's a few other options that rotate depending on the day. At the end of the meal, there's always some amazing peach cobbler. I have been a regular of The Chef's House for years! As a downtown worker its easy to get tired of the same old rotation in restaurants but Tammy and George get a weekly visit. From the small PINK cottage, they serve a heaping helping of Southern comfort. There are generally two to three daily entrees as part of the all-you-can-eat buffet to include basic salad bar, London Broil, pork chops, fried chicken, baked salmon, baked tilapia, spaghetti and meatballs, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, and always a delicious peach cobbler. As with any business you visit, there will a quirk or two and for me its, the max occupancy around 20 and difficult parking lot. As a renovated house there are two small rooms that serve as the dining area and a buffet in the third. Most of us meet friends for lunch so you can imagine the space gets loud and a little cramped. Thanks to my extended family and Girl Scout troop, I drive a tank. It can be tricky getting into one of the five spots in front of the lot, maneuvering the narrow path between business to the back especially with pedestrians and parking in the back. Call me a typical woman driver but I like to have some space and do not find Parking Lot Tetris fun. Will I be back? Absolutely. The quality of food and good nature of family structure - the young son helps out - keeps me there weekly. The food is always good every time I come here, t. It's a like a small healthy buffet! Today (Thursday) they were serving salmon, BBQ chicken, and fried pork chops. They have different items on the buffet everyday, but it's the same every week though. I love the nice little salad section they have here. I always load up on the tomatoes and cucumbers. They always taste so juicy and fresh! The salmon is really delicious and tasty! Good luck trying to get some when it's a packed house! It's usually a good bit of people rushing and trying to get themselves some good ol' salmon. If you snooze, you truly lose until the next batch comes out. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to take pictures of this good because of my phone malfunctioning. Maybe next time though. The staff and the owner are always cool and friendly too. People who don't know what The Chef's House is about do not appreciate it. Simple, clean, healthy cooking is what you get. Lower sodium preparation, no pork, and plenty of meat choices each day. For those who want 250 questionable selections on a garbage-food buffet, go to Ryan's or Golden Corral. Each day of the week, the chef gives at least two meat choices. The green beans and turnip greens are delicious, as is the corn. The baked chicken is very succulent and tasty. Tuesday is roast beef and gravy, baked chicken. Wednesday he serves baked tilapia, fried chicken (yum) and spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs seem to be frozen/commercially prepared, but it has good flavor. The salad is prepared in a bowl with tomatoes and other vegetables, and extras like olives are available. I eat here nearly every week, and I am never disappointed in the food. The tea is great, too. Come early or you will have to wait or have trouble parking. read more

I love supporting small, family owned businesses so I visit this place every once in a while and it's always great. They are only open weekdays during lunch time so you will have to make it there before 4pm. It is a small building(pink house) and they do get crowded so keep that in mind. The food served here is great and they always have healthy options. Everything is served buffet style so it's easy to get your fill. My favorite day to visit is Thursdays as the salmon is AMAZING. The veggies are also always good. Your meal is going to run you around $12 or so. The staff has always been friendly to me.
