Breakfast stop before we started our 4 hour travel day. The place was clean and we made it just before the church crowd. The waitresses were so sweet and attentive. They refilled our coffee and got our order correct. Huervos rancheros was exceptional. I got both eh red and green sauce but the green sauce was absolutely perfect!!! The country fried steak with the gravy could Not have been better. Served hot and could literally cut it with a fork. Got the sourdough toast- phenomenal! The coffe was really good. Stopped here on the way home from Orlando Fl. Just a little off the I95. Had a fantastic grilled turkey sandwich on toasted sour dough bread with swiss and tomato along with a simple side salad. The exterior threw me a bit but I was checking the reviews. When I got inside it felt very comfortable and the atmosphere was pleasant. I was served by Jacky who had a great, happy personality and she was kind enough to give me recommendations. Based on her suggestion, I ordered cheese empanadas with chicken. I made the mistake of thinking I didn't need to look at the menu. I asked for enchiladas with beans & rice. The hostess asked if I wanted the steak. I assumed it was their house version, I also assumed the steak would be inside the tortillas. This was unrecognizable as an enchilada. Beneath the thin steak, something I'd get at a steakhouse & not a Mexican resteraunt, was a few corn tortillas with some sauce on it. Not even enough sauce to convince my taste buds it could possibly be enchiladas. Instead or rice I got a side salad. The hostess was nice. I should've asked more questions. My dogs were quite happy with the steak. I wouldn't expect a small restaurant in the south to measure up to my SoCal upbringing, but I expected to at least taste enchilada sauce...and maybe a bit of cheese. read more

Great find! The place has indoor seating and the inside is nice and open. There is also covered outdoor seating if it's not too chilly. I had the huevos rancheros with red salsa. The salsa on the eggs was so delicious and bad a nice spice to it. I asked for a spicier sauce and got a homemade salsa that had more of a kick and was equally delicious. Our road trip included one night at a Hampton. Though off of I95, it was in the middle of no where with only fast food nearby. We expanded our dinner search and netted a real winner with Roxy's. It was about a 14 minute drive from the hotel but well worth it. My wife went in with a strong intention of getting a burger, and I was leaning more toward a steak or ribs. After chatting with the owner (yes he was the host) about what was available (no steak or ribs) he suggested some Mexican street dishes. We settled on beef and chicken sopes and chicken empanadas. The three empanadas were stuffed with a tasty meat filling, and attractively topped with with lettuce, chopped tomatoes, queso, queso fresco, avocado, and a touch of cilantro. We loved them. The pastry was light, thin, and crispy--simply the best I have ever tasted. The sopes were delicious as well, and similarly topped as the empanadas. This authentic street food was washed down with a cold Modelo. Does it get any better than that? We chatted with the owner after dinner, and he was especially proud of his breakfast menu. It did look good. We will definitely be back at Roxy's if we're ever within 10 or 15 miles! It's a neat and clean restaurant with a terrific menu, and friendly staff. Our party of three stopped in for lunch the other day. The restaurant has a nice selection of American, Tex-Mex and traditional Mexican dishes. Can't really comment on the American and Tex-Mex items (although the people who ordered them around us seemed to enjoy them), but we really enjoyed the Mexican fare we had; some of the best tasting food we've had north of the border. Our dishes were freshly prepared with fresh ingredients and tasted amazing. We can't wait to go back and would recommend them to anyone craving authentic home-style Mexican cuisine. Fajitas were so dry the chicken is extremely thin and rubbery. With the color of the rice you would assume it was seasoned but it is very bland and the beans were cold and flavorless. I had to request sour cream to help with some moisture. I was surprised fajitas didn't come with cheese, salsa, sour cream or any condiments. The burger was obviously cooked before and floating in water due to the film on it. Fries had zero salt or anything else on them. We ordered dinner to go from Roxy's which we had heard was very good. When my husband went to pick up the order, he said it looked like the place was closing. Hardly any supplies, employees, etc. on the menu there was an entree: HALF ROASTED CHICKEN. Which he ordered. When he got home & opened it, there was one little piece of chicken - almost as small as a chicken thigh! And a small spoonful of potatoes that wouldn't fill up anyone! I stopped in on my way down to FL from Va. I needed some nourishment and I found it at Roxy's. On Sunday you can get breakfast 'till 4PM . They do a French toast combo with 2 eggs 2 meats and French toast one of 3 ways - grilled, fried, or stuffed. Being indecisive- I told the waitress to make it a surprise. While I am waiting for my food, a bit about the atmosphere. This place is warm and friendly and has a great vibe to it. It has a simple clean country look that communicates that all are welcome . Super family friendly and a great place to gather after church or whatever ! The food was excellent! I think the pictures say it better than I ever could. I ended up getting the stuffed French toast. We saw a social media post that said "Now open seven day a week" and "new menu" so we thought, lets try it. Maybe we shouldn't have. When we walked in there was a stale smell and not food smells at all, when you walk into a restaurant, you usually smell food, NOTHING...smelled just like a building that had been empty for awhile. We were a party 8 , two other tables were seat while we were there a table of 3 and a table of 2. The only employee we saw, was on the phone taking an order and said to seat ourselves, she would be with us in a moment. She arrived , brought us menus and took our drink orders. She brought back our sweet tea, cokes, and water. The sweet tea was very good, sweetened just right. She came back to take our orders and was a little time consuming because "this was her first week" we pointed to the entrees we wanted. Basics , no special orders 1 Mesquite Griiled Chick Wrap (w/ onion rings ), 3 Hangover Burgers(w/ fries), 1 Pasta with chicken and broccoli , one chef salad, 1 Cowboy Sandwich(w/fries) , 1 cheese steak sandwich( w/ fries) . Where shall I begin ? I finally asked her to bring us a pitcher of tea, instead of taking 1 glass at a time to refill. She then began to bring meals. Hangover Burgers that are supposed to be loaded hamburgers with an egg, arrived on a bun with what looked like a precooked patty, lettuce, tomato , cheese, one had onion rings the others had fried. They were supposed to all have fries. Chef salad arrived , lettuce a boiled egg, and a tomato wedge. Cheese steak sandwich on a hoagie with fries CORRECT Cowboy Sandwich w/ fries (this was supposed to be grilled steak, sautéed onions and peppers , Monterey jack cheese on a hoagie) this looked unfinished, very little meat over powered by a huge hoagie roll and fries that looked like they were the last in the basket. this meal didn't fill the plate. Pasta with chicken and broccoli .. the pasta had no flavor and had the consistency of Cambells Chicken Noodle soup. No flavor at all. Mesquite Grilled chicken wrap w/ Onion Rings ... A wrap that was nice and soft with fried chicken tenders, lettuce, tomato. The chicken tenders were cooked to the correct crispness, but no flavor. This was supposed to be grilled chicken that included the usual toppings and black beans and chipotle dressing. The onion rings were good. 8 Meals and 1 was correct. I hope that this restaurant makes it and can address these issues, Ridgeland needs a couple of good restaurants, and all of these issues can be improved. The server was nice but was really in over her head and needed more training. And a little help One last thing, there was a sign on the door that said CASH ONLY , of course this was included on a door that is covered with signs, the server did mention this after we placed the order. We did have the cash but many people do not carry cash. Total $140 (plus tip) spending time with family is priceless read more

Fresh home cook meal: Very Good. Simple and small menu which is good. Wait time to get our order and get our food was a bit long. The waitress were either overwhelmed or un experienced. The cook or assistant cook came out and cleaned up some table. Also asked tables how was the food. That was nice of him. Only advise for the young waitress is to be more attentive. Maybe they are not a dinner place. I alway look for a local place and try to support local business. I hope they improve in the service (which wasn't bad) and wish them the best. read more

We were passing through on our way back from Florida and I googled this spot. The server was very sweet and accommodating. I noticed the owner also serving tables and talking to locals. We had the spicy chicken sandwich and black & blue burger. Both were amazing and full of flavor! We also upgraded to the loaded fries and dipped them In their homemade ranch dressing.
