Grilled Chicken strips at Brody's Bar & Grill
Bruce K.

Dinner time at last and despite a bunch of empty tables, I was asked to wait for about 20 minutes by the hostess. I told her I needed a table with power for the laptop. I'd have preferred to wait at a table or even at the bar, but that wasn't offered so I sat at the hostess stand. Despite being the only person sitting there and no one coming or going while I was sitting, 20 minutes. Okay, my name was called. Weird, as I'm still the only person sitting. She brought me to one table - no power. I need a table with a power outlet or I'm not staying. So she brought me to another table that did have power. Hooray. A pleasant waitress took my drink and food order and my grilled chicken strips arrived not too much later. A good portion, cooked and sauced as requested. And I stayed long enough to power up phone and laptop and even crank out a Yelp review or two. [Review 19488 overall - 1060 in South Carolina - 458 of 2023.]

View from the back patio. Patio offers shade, fans and football on tv and a view of back yard that has tables and garden space.

Kitchen has stepped up since our last experience years ago. Perfect straightforward sports bar including outdoor seating and areas for kids to walk around. Full Bar and American favorites to eat.

A super good and juicy patty melt and great extra crispy steak fries
Regina S.

We were craving some comfort food, and Brody's has delivered some decent patty melts during our past visits so we ventured in hoping for some gooey goodness. Our server was beyond friendly and accommodating. We usually start with fried mushrooms (which are always exceptionally fresh, juicy and perfectly breaded and fried). This time, we opted to try the onion rings instead. The rings arrived perfectly hot and battered with an exceptionally light and crispy crust. They needed salt, (but I'd rather have to add it myself), and were accompanied by a " spicy" aioli. It was tame but added a nice creamy touch to the onions. We decided to split the burger as the serving size is substantial. Usually, crinkle cut potatoes accompany the sandwich but they offered steak fries this time. We ordered them extra crisp. The food arrived fresh and hot. The melt was perfectly cut in half. Our only complaint was that we requested the thousand island on the side. (We really don't care for the practice of servers choosing not to write orders down. Invariably a mistake will be made and of course that's what happened.) luckily the sandwich was not doused with the dressing, but it was still an unwanted condiment - at least for me. The rest of the patty melt really delivered. The marbled rye was perfectly griddled, the Swiss cheese was nicely melted, the onions soft, and the beef was incredibly juicy and cooked to a medium as requested. The extra crispy steak fries were on point - super golden crispy exterior yet fluffy and soft on the inside. We came for comfort food and we got in spades!

Buffalo shrimp - too salty but great portion
Melissa G.

We ate on the back porch which they had set up to social distance. They had numerous TVs out there so we could watch the games. The outdoor gravel area is amazing! I am sure it's fun out there when we aren't all masked-up and distant. Their beer menu was weak and we weren't even told about the few they had on draft. You offer a million things for dinner but like ten beers? Come on man! The wings were crispy and tender and had decent flavor. We think it's difficult to find good wings, and we'd order these again. The buffalo shrimp was fresh, but way too salty so stick with the wings. The Philly cheesesteak was fine, but the fries were not eatable as they were cold and season-less. The spinach salad was the best item we ordered and I ate every bite of it! The thing with these places is they don't have to have a 4-page menu. Offer apps, burgers, a couple sandwiches, and a few salads. Do what you do really well and take the other unnecessary entrees off! It's a sports bar so do bar food really damn good and forget the rest.

Can't wait for wings
Aly W.

Brody's came highly recommended from a local. We enjoyed stopping in here and eating outside on the covered porch. Although we did not go into the uncovered outside area, it looks very inviting. We can't wait to go back on an evening in enjoy the fire! The outside area is fenced in and is dog friendly! While at the restaurant we enjoyed to type so wings. The mild Buffalo and the "slow burn" were great Mild was for our kiddo and. Our waitress recommended we try the "tap out" wings. Overall, our experience was great! Our waitress was attentive and friendly, and we will return! Side note, we learned that pre-COVID they do a wing Wednesday. It is a buy 6, get 6 free. I hope that this returns!

Was in town for a 4th of July getaway and left thinking this town was one of my favorite getaway locations in the continental USA. And dinning at SALTUS definitely added to that impression. This review is way tardy, about a 1.5 years after the experience. So I can not go into specific details about the food. But I remember strolling on the beautiful water front immediately after relaxing, refreshing, revitalizing experience at SALTUS and raving positively about the entire experience. The location is excellent on a historic waterfront that has been majorly redone / revitalized from long ago industrial hub. The evening mild breezes made dining on 3rd of July comfortable and outside dinning preferable. Then the staff and fellow diners were fabulous. Everything felt magical, especially as we were able to dine with out dog on the patio and not have to leave her in lodge room. Wine recommendation was spot on and paired perfectly with the order of muscles that ordered. Sandy was very pleased and she is way more the foodie / experience person of the two of us. Place was hoping so it must have a strong loyal following. Everyone dressed nicely, which is refreshing nowadays. Make this upscale experience more fulfilling. Location can not be beat. So they're willing to absolutely frustrate and alienate the rest of their patrons who are being considerate of other diners in favor of one rude couple that's ruining everyone's experience? We have absolutely had it with inconsiderate people bring fussy, crying and even screaming babies into restaurants and disrupting everyone's dining experience, as well as restaurants' management not standing up for other customers who just want to enjoy their meal in peace. If a restaurant isn't willing to advocate for their respectful customers, we will absolutely let people know with a review, and we will focus our time an money on restaurants who willing to protect their guests' experiences at their establishment.
