Inside was empty, but it was clean, and honestly it made sense because everyone wanted to be outside enjoying the weather. I ordered the shrimp po' boy and it was delicious. The lettuce was fresh and crispy, and the shrimp were not heavily battered, they were hot, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The sauce was really good too. I'd definitely order it again. Our waiter was very nice. You could tell she was busy and a bit overworked, but she still provided good service and was pleasant throughout. Thank god for the food server (didn't catch her name she had short black hair)as she was able to get my margarita. The waitress Hailey was very friendly but not attentive at all. Service was not good it was the first I left a 10% tip. Tried to give the food server money but she wouldn't accept. Fried Shrimp was not good and the batter tasted like bisquick no seasoning at all. The blackened shrimp was better still not seasoned up to par. The salad we requested the peach buttermilk balsamic we didn't get that until the very end of our salad. Also never got the tartare sauce. The fried chicken in the Cobb salad was probably the best we had here. Today we stopped by for a late lunch. We checked in with the hostess who was super nice. She told us that the tables outside were on a longer wait than inside but we did not mind so we put our name on the waitlist. Shortly after checking in, our table was ready and we were seated outside. Our server arrived at our table shortly after being seated to take our drink orders. Such a great spot for lunch in downtown Beaufort. We've been enough times that we've tried a good bit of the menu. We love that they have indoor and outdoor seating! My favorite app is the fried shrimp. Delicious! Favorite lunch item: the Biarritz sandwich. They also have great specials! The bar isn't huge but has everything you could want. The vibe is low key and relaxed. Our service has always been wonderful. Overall Plum's is reliable for a delicious meal. I had the opportunity to visit Plums during the lunch hour. The buildings was packed with more locals than tourists. The restaurant is full of dark wood and comfortable seating. They have a great back patio, but because was so hot we stayed inside. Our server was also the bartender and she did a great job of taking care of us. I've traveled to New Orleans and Baton Rouge many times and I've always enjoyed a good shrimp Poboy. I ordered a Poboy and was very impressed. My family and I are regular customers (almost every Sunday!) My son loves the gumbo! However, on this last Sunday the gumbo was not the usual and though my son digested it, I could not! The gumbo looked as if it was 'mush!' Amy and all the staff watched me when it was brought to my table (unbeknownst to me) because they know that is a regular dish for me! We have been there twice visiting Beaufort and enjoyed the food. My wife wants to go there for the peel and eat shrimp and a friend loves the fried shrimp. I have tried a couple of things. This time I tried the gumbo which was excellent. My only wish is that they had a few sides you can order - it made for a lighter lunch and maybe a roll or something would have finished the meal off well. I also did not see any desserts. I was disappointed with my experience at Plums. They did have a sign stating that they were understaffed but they didn't appear to be understaffed. I do not think they were utilizing the employees correctly and giving each a section rather than having them working all over the restaurant. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating. I chose indoor but would have had a different waitress had I chosen outdoor. Mine was forgetful and disorganized not just with me but the other tables too. She'd forget to bring the drink orders. I have a feeling she forgot to put my order in as two other tables that arrived much later got their food before me. She also kept disappearing for long stretches of time. I never got a refill after asking for one 30 minutes before I got the check as I could tell she was not attentive enough to know to bring around refills like the other staff were doing for their tables. I didn't think she was ever going to come and take care of the check so luckily I had cash on me. I ordered the shrimp salad BLT sandwich and substituted fries for the chips. The fries were great as was the BLT part but the shrimp salad wasn't as good as I had hoped. Plums wouldn't get a return visit from me. read more
