Excellent wait staff and really, really good food. We had the fish BLT and fish tacos then shared. The fish was mahi and blackened just right and we had side salads which were also very good. The atmosphere is really cool with dining inside and out. Thanks for the great lunch.

Food was good, service quick and efficient. Friendly atmosphere. We had burgers - they were pretty good.

Lived in Beaufort for almost a year and had no idea this place existed. Cool neighborhood place, outdoor seating with a view of the marina and Lady's Island Bridge. Great service, friendly folks and tasty eats. Glad I found it and will be back...

Sit at the bar or grab a table and the service is FAST but the food is very good for a tiki shack kind of environment. We particularly liked the fish sandwich and fish tacos. Also I can never resist tater tots so it's automatically a winner. Everyone is in bathing suits and there's shower washes and things to rinse your feet off as you enter so no worries about doing anything except walking off the sand and then walking back out! Pro Tip: Check the chalkboards for fun drink specials and don't miss out on the spicy margarita

We visited the Tiki Hut on Hilton Head Island during a Memorial Day weekend vacation. It has a fun…read morebeach‑bar vibe, and the live music definitely adds some great energy to the place. The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me.

Surprisingly, the place…read morewas nearly empty--we only noticed about six other guests inside--but even with such a small crowd, the service was extremely slow. Our server seemed confused throughout the visit, and getting our orders placed and delivered took much longer than expected. We ordered several appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were okay, but the portions were quite small for the price. The cocktails were beautifully presented, but unfortunately, their appearance was the most impressive thing about them. They were just okay in flavor and didn't seem strong at all. The tiki décor was genuinely neat, though, and the merchandise selection was cool enough that we purchased one of their tiki mugs as a souvenir. Sadly, the interesting atmosphere and attractive drink presentations couldn't overcome the poor service, lackluster cocktails, and overpriced food. Overall, it was a pretty big disappointment, and I don't see us returning. However, the evening did provide one final and unexpected treasure. As we left, we encountered a mariachi band performing hits from the '80s, '90s, and today. I requested "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," but they solemnly informed me that the song could not be performed without a tuba. Instead, they launched into NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye," which felt less like a musical request and more like the universe formally dismissing us from the premises. The tiki bar may have been a letdown, but being serenaded out of Savannah by a mariachi boy band almost made the evening worthwhile.

The cocktails came in really cool tiki mugs that made for excellent pictures, and many of the mugs are available for purchase if you want to take home a little souvenir. The servers were also fantastic--friendly, attentive, and quick to keep the drinks flowing. The only real downside is that the décor is fairly light on the tiki atmosphere, and the experience could have used some proper tiki music in the background. Still, the drinks and service more than made up for it. There was also a rather unusual incident during our visit. A man burst into the bar wearing a giant bucket hat with a buckle and began demanding that everyone be arrested for witchcraft. He kept shouting, "You're all witches!" despite our repeated assurances that we were simply enjoying cocktails. I told him to calm down, but he refused. So, after finishing my fourth drink, I raised my glass and began reciting the menu backward. Suddenly, a bright blue light enveloped him. He screamed, vanished completely, and left behind nothing but the faint smell of coconut rum. Everyone in the bar applauded, and I was rewarded with free stickers and a drink stirrer. A marvelous evening, all things considered.

Yes, latest visit since we also visited June 2025, and gave that visit a 4 star. Let me say there were several issues during this visit. First, they didn't have a common beer available, claiming they ran out of Corona. Now it is a Friday night and you're going into the weekend without one of the most popular beers - just crazy. Next I ordered the Low Country Boil, well after a few minutes another person comes to me as says they have no potatoes for the meal and offered extra sausage to make up the meal. I accepted that. When my meal came out, the server now tells me they owe me 2 more pieces of corn and they would quickly bring that to me. Guess what - never got them. The two pieces I did get were cold - I mean not fully boiled/cooked. Icy cold inside. Now we were with several other couples and one couple had to ask for their drinks a second time. Fact is their meal came out before their first drinks. I have to also mention the men's rooms. I was clearly hadn't been checked or cleaned in a while. Now let's face it, it got screwed up due to nasty guests, but staff really need to check it every so often. Folks I visit Tybee twice a year and there are plenty of options on the island. I think the Zunibar has lost my future business, as well as the 3 other couples we were with. If you choose here you have been warned. I hope you have a better visit.

If a restaurant offers and advertises an Early Dining Menu, why is it so hard to get that menu? We did the usual dance at this restaurant-- we got seated, reviewed the menu, realized we didn't have the early dining menu. We waited for our (abysmal) waitress, who never materialized and then went to the hostess to get the menu. When ordering, it seemed to frustrate the waitress? Next, the seating. Lovely outdoor seating which we were not fortunate to get. We did however, enjoy the big booth. Big is subjective here because six of us squeezed into this booth with mere inches of our lives. Our foot placement under the table required intentional organization. Once the foot hit the table, all bets were off. The pièce de résistance was how sticky the booth was, it made sliding into it a sporting endeavor. Now the actual food? Pretty solid. The she crab soup? Delectable. Broiled shrimp? Satisfying. BBQ brisket platter? Great. Meatloaf? Solid choice. If this place could get its act together with service and seating, it would be a solid 5 with the food and waterfront dining. (Isn't it always the way though?)
