We visited the Tiki Hut on Hilton Head Island during a Memorial Day weekend vacation. It has a fun beach‑bar vibe, and the live music definitely adds some great energy to the place. The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with a mix of open-air tables and some covered spots at the bar for shade. The drink menu is decent, with plenty of tropical cocktails to choose from, though the beer selection is surprisingly limited for a place that stays this busy. Most of the service seems to run through the bar, and while the bar staff was friendly, upbeat, and doing their best despite being absolutely swamped, the table service was pretty spotty. The food menu is just okay--nothing terrible, nothing standout. I ordered the Caribbean Jerk Chicken sandwich at lunch, and unfortunately it did not sit well with me at all. It upset my digestive system enough to derail one of my vacation days, which definitely colored the experience. One thing that stood out was the presence of armed security guards. Not necessarily a problem, but it does create a different atmosphere than you might expect from a casual beachfront bar. Many reviews have mentioned the parking. We stayed at the hotel, so it wasn't an issue for us but somebody sitting next to me at the bar was ejected by management for something related to parking. I'm not sure of the exact details because I couldn't hear the conversation well, but it seemed to have to do with either buying or selling a parking pass with someone else. There was another incident where an unruly patron had the police called on them after engaging with one of the aforementioned security guards. That said, these seemed to be atypical of the total experience. Overall, it's an entertaining spot for drinks and music, but the unpleasant food experience land it at a middle-of-the-road three stars for me. read more

They don't tell you or advertise the $20 parking fee from the hotel they are in. No one mentioned the free parking across the road. When I asked they didn't say anything about reimbursing. This was the most expensive meal of the week at over $200 for a Jamaican chicken sandwich, bbq chicken sandwich, 2 orders of shrimp tacos, and 2 appetizers. Let's start the atmosphere was pretty nice. They had live music but not loud enough for the entire restaurant. Now to the food: I had the Jamaican Chicken sandwich and tater tots. It came out on a huge bun and I was thinking man this is going to be a huge sandwich. Nope. Over half the sandwich was nothing but bread. The chicken was like 1 chicken tenders size basically. Hey the tater tots were good. My daughters had the shrimp tacos. Comes with 2 tacos, they were very good My wife had the bbq chicken sandwich and tater tots. She said it was good but nothing special. The appetizer was shrimp cocktail which was good and the dip trio. Your basic bar food dip trip. We had a few drinks and they were average at best. We had to ask for a shot to go along with the daiquiri because we were pretty sure we got a virgin. Overall not a good experience and the $20 parking fee blew my mind, atleast reimburse or give a free appetizer to compensate. Service: Not sure what the staff deal here considering I was not inky the only African American present to enjoy A Caucasian Band but, service was not pleasant. One guy ignored my attempt to order a drink after sitting down at their outside tiki bar off the beach until another guy decided he would finally serve me...made me wish I took my business somewhere else cause their vin and impolite demeanors were noticed when serving me. The coolest bar in Hilton Head! We were on the beach, and we wanted a drink, so we got up and walked right into the tiki hut. The line was kind of chaotic, but it went really fast. There was no clear line, just a bunch of people waiting, which is typical of a bar. There were seats and the bar and tons of tables to sit at, but we just wanted to get our drinks and go. I got a banana daquiri and the shark bait daquiri. After we ordered, it only took the bar tender a minute or two to make our drinks. They came out really fast and were so delicious. I love the looks of this tiki hut because you really feel as if you are in a tiki hut. Being right in the beach, this is a perfect option for a snack or drink on a Long Beach day. read more

My friends and I had the best lunch today at the Tiki Hut in Hilton Head! The location is unbeatable--right on the beach with beautiful views. We tried the blackened mahi sandwich and the Caribbean chicken sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, and our food came out quickly. Visited the beach knowing I had to pop in on the Tiki Hut to see what was going on. Wow, at 3pm on a Friday afternoon in December - the place was PACKED. Barely found a table! There was an awesome band playing, one of my buddy's favorite, so we had to stay. Don't plan on having a conversation while a band is playing here, it is super loud, but so fun! Servers on an island are hit or miss, but our server was SO nice, she actually took a minute to chat about the band when she came back to check on us for the 2nd time. It was starting to thin out, as the band had finished. We were approached pretty quickly when we sat down. I ordered some nachos $12 and added chicken $6. They use white cheese, which I much prefer over that nacho cheese so many bars use. A healthy dose of jalapenos with the chicken piled on made it yummy! A White Claw was $9. Very cool place to get a drink and a bite to eat. We had some time to kill while waiting to head to the airport so we decided to come here. I'm so happy we did because it turned out frowns upside down! I went with the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I drank multiple mojitos which lead me to forgetting to take any pictures. There's a reason why this venue was voted as one of the top ten beach bars in the country. Located on Coligny Beach, they feature live music every day with great bands who provide music to all beachgoers. There's the Beach House which is the hotel resort attached as well as The Porch. We were lucky enough to find 2 seats at the bar. The bartenders and waitresses/waitors are super fast and very attentive. The drinks are amazing. Maybe a little pricey, but it's worth it just for the music and the vibe. We ordered the Super Pretzel with Queso cheese. It was huge and delicious. The cheese sauce was tasty and a little spicy. You can sit under the Tiki Hut or on the outside picnic tables. There's a shower for people coming from the beach to rinse off. There are also rest rooms and access to South Forest Beach Drive. They use the Toast app for payment and allow you to charge to the hotel room if you're staying there. read more

The customer service is really good. The brunch was fine. The little basket of baked goods was not grand but not sure what we expected with it. It's the same vibe and good food with a stronger infrastructure. The service was a little odd at first- seat yourself, then in 15-30 min someone did come over. Once she was there it was great. This is a seat yourself patio right on the beach attached to the hotel. The atmosphere is fun and tropical with the iconic thatched roof and live island music playing. We were promptly greeted by a server who indicated her shift was ending and a new server would be taking over. We appreciated the transparency but also found it odd to be asked to pay our bill before our food arrived. Basically you are being asked to tip before the services are rendered. They're using a toast pos system and could have easily transferred the tab. Odd. Our food arrived fairly quickly after we paid our bill. We ordered two burgers, pulled pork and two Mahi sandwiches. The Mahi was a nice piece of fish but could use more seasoning or a sauce to bring out the flavor- it was definitelynot blackenedas the menu indicated. Placing it on a sesame hamburger bun really degraded what could be a nice dish. My friend enjoyed the pulled pork but again the bun didn't fit the quality of the meat product. The burgers were decent but nothing special. It is clear this place is designed around drinks and not food. Know this going in if you are taking a family. Also they do not offer happy hour so do not be deceived by other reviews. I specifically asked and the waitress said they do not offer a HH anymore. For drinks we had the Nutty Sailor and the Sailor punch. Both were er just OK- watered down by too much ice and not a good balance of flavors. Place was really nicely redone, has a great vibe, from its beach views to the live band. We were surprised that we were able to find a table quickly, given it was the height of lunch and the convenient location. Service was great, our waitress (a pretty blonde) was very attentive and helpful. Although there aren't a ton of things on the menu, the food was very good. We had the mahi and jerk chicken sandwiches with Caesar salads and the bacon smash burger with fries, a beer, soda and water. We also had the funnel cake, that we took to go. Prices were reasonable, as were the portions. Everything was great! Food came in cardboard boxes, which was less to fuss over and doubly useful when taking home leftovers. Stopped at Tiki Hut today to check out what NFL games they had on. This was at suggestion of our Uber driver that his lived in area for several years. The place looked cool walking in. Open air with views of the ocean. We sat at the bar. The menu was limited for food and drink. No beers on tap. Didn't see anyone ordering food, so that was a red flag. After one beer and not very good service even though we were sitting at the bar, we decided to leave. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want a decent view of the beach and a cold beer. I've l been a bartender on this island for over 25 years... and honestly, what happened blew my mind. Apparently, I walked into a private party -- from the ocean side -- and some casually dressed "security" guy (definitely not local) told me I had to leave the entire hotel and bar because I "wasn't part of the event." Like, what? Since when does Tiki Hut belong to some private club? I'm a native. I've supported that place for years -- over-tipped, brought friends, showed love just because I believed in keeping local spots alive. And this is how they treat us now? Feels like once they got successful off the backs of locals, they don't need us anymore. It used to be a place that felt like home. Now it's all corporate, cold, and weirdly exclusive. The energy was straight-up off. One of the party hosts even told me to stay, but some younger "handler" guys jumped in and said no -- they literally argued about it. The whole thing gave creepy, YouTube conspiracy vibes. I just walked away. Tiki Hut ain't the same. Locals, we've got better options. They can keep their "private party" energy. We dined in last night. The place was insanely busy and only 3 or so servers. Our sweet waitress handled herself well but she wasn't able to attend to customers like she may have wanted too. We waited forever for her to come to us. Then our appetizer came out before we got drinks. My biggest complaint was my daughter's $16 burger. It legit was the size of a Oreo cookie. We came to here every night on our Hilton Head vacay because it's attached to our hotel. There's live music daily from 5 to 10. Walked down the beach mid afternoon to get out of the sun for awhile. Great tiki bar experience, live music, lots of shade, we got a high top table pretty easily on a Tuesday afternoon. We had expensive but delicious cocktails, shared two appetizers, the Tiki salad & the coconut shrimp. Both were delicious! Hadn't had coconut shrimp in forever (lots of it on this island though) and they were delicious, great coconut breading, crispy, not greasy at all, delicious spicy dipping sauce.
