Excellent restaurant in a quaint (new) "old town" setting. This is a quiet little place with excellent service, creative and well prepared food, and a definite sea side/local hang out vibe. We started with Crudo. It seemed appropriate. The Big Eye Crudo. Loved to olive oil and capers. The scallops my wife had were excellent, perfectly seared, large with pickled shallots on the side. I had the wild boar ragu, and thought it was both creative and flavorful. We finished with some sort of chocolate pie... I wish I. could remember the name. Great! Just moved here to Hilton Head & I was craving fresh raw fish. Saw that they had the salmon crudo so i stopped by. It was NYE and the owner/manager said that they have a fixed menu. I was there alone & i ordered salmon crudo, 1/2 a dozen of oysters, crunchy ship roll with crabs and 2 glass of wine. For my sushi I had to ask for chops sticks, it was the disposable chopsticks. The food was amazing, also I sat next to the lovely couple to my right. I told them they would like the rolls. They order that. When the server setup their plates it came all nice with real chopsticks & a side of ginger & wasabi. I was bummed I didn't get that setup. By the time I saw. I already finished my meal. I did spend over $130 to eat alone to have a nice experience for my NYE dinner. I will still come back because their regular menu did look good. So this was my first trip to Bluffton. While searching for restaurants in the area, I can across Crudo. The menu is definitely up my alley and I love enjoying small plates so as to get to try all of the flavors. We arrive at 8:15 not realizing that the kitchen closed at nine so we got to work ordering all of the things. First, we really enjoyed their cocktail menu...the Jane's Addiction was a huge hit with my group. Light, refreshing and delicious. Next we moved on to oysters, octopus and foie gras. All delicious. We continued to graze through their crudo menu enjoying the snapper aquachile, tuna (big eye) crudo and scallop ceviche and then switched over to the duck bao buns. Let me tell you, everything on the list was fresh and delicious. The final choice was the morel pasta special that we all shared and it was simply the icing on the cake. Our dessert ended up being one more order of foie gras. Needless to say, we had a great experience, the food was phenomenal and the service (our bartender was Stephanie) was friendly and super attentive. We probably ended up over staying our welcome, but the staff was patient and gracious as we devoured the last bites of our dinner. If you're not an adventurous eater, the probably isn't the place for you. BUT, if you enjoy raw fish with loads of flavor, oysters (their mignonette was spot on), octopus with a Mediterranean flare (including bit of chorizo) and duck with an Asian flare, you should give this place a whirl. Tonight was our 2nd time eating at Crudo and once again everything was amazing. We started with the crispy octopus which was flavorful and tender. It was recommended to us by the server and another couple we ended up talking to seated next to us, and it was truly a fantastic recommendation. My husband had the Wagyu steak which was better than any local steakhouse in the area and I had the Lobster Roll which was sweet, tender, and juicy. We were driving thru this charming town on our way from Hilton Head to Savannah. We decided to stay for lunch, and boy were we ever glad we did! We loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant from the incredibly fresh and flavorful food (not to mention the exquisite presentation - what a chef! He even came out to check on us, too - Chef CJ) to the welcoming, friendly and professional staff. On top of that, loved the vibe of the place. We enjoyed it so much, we changed our plans, called our son and had him come meet us back at Crudo for dinner. He, too, thought it was phenomenal and will be returning (I'm sure frequently) with his roommates. We live on the west coast, but KNOW we will be back next time we are visiting our son. I wish someone had told me what was good because what i ordered, the seared scallops, supposedly from Japan, were fishy and had to he sent back. My partner ordered the duck, which were quarter sized medallions that he had to struggle to cut. We were actually rather shocked at the cost for the quality and small portion sizes. My family reserved a table after a long day of driving to hopefully start our vacation with good food. We arrived and I was very excited to taste this food, I shouldn't have been. The menu had an item on it that they were no longer serving and the waitress Did not tell us that they were no longer serving it. I asked for lump crab that is a key item in 2 out of the 3 seafood towers, they were out of crab, my mother ordered smoke salmon and they were out of that also. My refill of soda came back warm. The week of 9 Dec my company decided to do its senior leadership strategy offsite here in Bluffton including two dinners with our team of 10. The first dinner we decided on Crudo. A couple of days before that dinner the owner of Crudo, Brian, reached out to me and invited me to come in and sit down with he and Chef Eric over a glass of wine to work through a menu. We have a wide range of palates from vegetarian/pescatarian, to the adventurous, to the meat and potatoes. We ended up doing family style and holy cow did Chef crush it. From the vegetarian flat bread, to the pork belly flat bread, to the oysters Rockefeller, to the burrata salad, to the chicken, to the flounder stuffed with crab. Fresh, fresh, fresh and just an abundance of flavor. Great, great service and a terrific and memorable experience. I really appreciate the custom service. I highly recommend Crudo whether a party of two or 10. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. read more

Let me say first and for most that if you want great craft cocktails and nothing else this place is great. Very good selection and excellent service. I wouldn't mind paying the 15 dollar each for them at all. The food on the other hand is a disappointment. Everything is priced for fine dining but the food is substandard. The two if us had one drink each, a half dozen oysters, a pasta dish, a salad, and an order of naan bread and left paying 140$ out the door very disappointed having spent that much. read more

We could not get into many places on a Monday. No problem with Crudo. About four tables all night. I can understand why. They were out of many items on the menu. I ordered a simple pasta and after at least 10 minutes the waiter said it was 86. Another item that was ordered never came! read more

The 3 star is for the 20 dollar smoked salmon role my wife ordered that was average and too pricey. Although the tuna bowl was great, it stings the wallet at 25.00 we waited about an hour for the roll and the bowl. A pour of casamigos tequila runs a stiff 17.00 Feels like Manhattan prices but much of Bluffton seems to be trending that direction. read more

14 Promenade Street would have had an entirely different meaning prior to 6-12 months ago. The space has since been renovated and rebranded in downtown Bluffton, being transformed into an elegant dining experience that I believe has the potential to immediately rival even the best rated restaurants in the Bluffton area, in due time. The atmosphere is comfortably relaxed, with a modestly priced menu and limited seating. One will find that through personal experience, it feels like a kitchen you can always come home to. The ownership, team, and newly minted brand of Crudo, have figured out how to implement small scale style service, with incredibly talented service people, and a remarkably flavorful food and beverage program. The party of three split a full experience of apps entree and desert, including cocktails and a bottle of wine. I could sit here and write more than I already have, but it honestly wouldn't do it justice. I can easily say that it was one of the most memorable times I've ever had dining out with comfort in the expectation of something beautiful. Bravo.. I tried to summate my experience with a single sentence after all was said and done, and what came out was: "What a distinctly remarkable experience from dish to dish, drink to drink, and everything in between." The team at Crudo have temporarily underpriced their menu for the level of quality of their service that their F&B program provides in my personal opinion, even in their opening weeks. This I, however, see as an incredible offering to the local community to offer a proper experience at a temporarily discounted rate until they really get going. And they will get going. First time we can it wasn't good. We tried it again last night, just to give it another shot, and just as terrible. The bahn mi was horrible and I can't believe the chef serves this. No seasoning, and the pork is basically raw,the bread is wrong, the toppings are off, and it's served with a lemony, middle eastern tasting farro. Just gross.We also tried prime rib and the short ribs. I've never had a short rib dish where it's thin small slices of beef like a steak and it was served with a side of raw broccoli. New raw bar in Old Town Bluffton. Located in the old Corks space. First time in. Was very excited since I love oysters on the half. Popped in on Saturday around 5 with no reservation. Expect that to change soon. Started with a dozen May River oysters. They were outstanding. And I went off recommendations when I asked for Blue Points. Was not disappointed. Followed up with their lobster roll. And I am a bit of a snob when it comes to my lobster rolls. High standards for me. The roll was awesome. Connecticut style. Great wine list and the bourbon list was top shelf. Tough to find Blanton's and Buffalo Trace in the south for whatever reason. If you are a local you will recognize Wrett behind the bar- formally from Burnt Church. He will alway provides great service and equally outstanding banter. Didn't dive too deep into the menu, which offers some great entres. Check it out now, as I'm certain this place will become increasingly more difficult to walk in. read more

OMG! We have lived in Hilton Head for 22 years. There are lots of seafood restaurants, French, restaurants, Italian restaurants, a few steakhouses. This is a totally unique experience. This is like something you would get in Charleston or San Francisco. Tons of small plate options and entrées for both land and sea lovers. Freshly shocked oysters. An amazing wine list and tons of bourbon. Nothing like it in the area. Better get your reservations soon this place is going to be hard to get into! read more

It takes a lot for me to write a review and Crudo is WELL WORTH the time to stop and give them 5 stars. My friend and I went in for a girls night to catch up and from the minute we sat at the bar we were happy. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It was so nice to see everyone so happy working there. The establishment they took over was dark and cold but now with some renovations it looks so open and light. Now for our favorite part... THE FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL. I live in Savannah and we have no shortage of raw bars here but CRUDO is worth the drive to Bluffton. The seafood was so fresh, the combinations were inventive, and we highly recommended the Oysters Rockefeller that was the best I've ever had. We had the chefs bite which was a great addition to start the meal, the oysters, daily ceviche special, and lobster roll. I'm still drooling over the thought of having them again. Go!
