The service and ambiance were amazing, and the food, extra delicious. Truffle fries, as a starter, yum. I enjoyed a delicious plate of fish and grits. The whiting was crispy and the grits were creamy. I really enjoy my experience here. Dined at the bar, so I had the pleasure of watching the bartenders curate cocktails, and tried a couple tasty ones.

We arrived on time for a Friday evening reservation. We were seated promptly upstairs and received water from the bus person. Twenty minutes later we were still sitting at a table with just water. We called the bus person over to the table and informed them no one had taken our order for the evening. The bus person contacted our server who arrived at our table and apologized. The server took our order for appetizers, drinks, and main courses. Forty minutes after placing our orders, (one hour total time-wise) we were still sitting at the table with just water. I contacted the hostess. She said would attempt to retrieve our food from the kitchen promptly. Less than five minutes later all of our food, (drinks, appetizers and main courses) appeared at the same time at our table. It was quite a bit of food to receive at one time, and our small table was fully covered. The food was hot and seasoned nicely. I believe the long wait time for food affected our overall experience. It appears to be a nice concept. There is a research center, bakery, fire pit, and plenty of outdoor seating. Maybe it was an off night for service. I am unsure if I will return.

This is the fried shrimp plate. Included fries & hush puppies. All very tasty. Nice big shrimp.

The food at Ma Daisy's was excellent as was the service. We ordered the fried shrimp plate with big fat shrimp with fries and homemade hush puppies and the very large jerk chicken salad. The house bourbon was poured generously. The server was sweet and also brought us waters which some restaurants have stopped doing. We opted for outdoor dining on the side patio because we wanted to enjoy the ambiance of the property. We will definitely be back!!

We arrived about 15 min before Ma's opened. We walked the immaculate grounds while we waited. The property has a nice farm house feeling with black painted buildings, grass area to rest, some games, & picnic tables. There is a museum on the grounds with art for sale. Inside the restaurant is immaculate and clean. A long bar, tables and a large round table and booth which fit the 6 of us comfortably. I had the chick and waffles, yummy. My friends loved the fried green tomatoes and my fiancé enjoyed his hamburger and friends. All of shared some wings too. Did I mention Keisha, our server and her sidekick Derick were great!

I love the vibe of the spot. It's a sitting area w korn hole & fire pit. You can use the walk up window of chef B's to order

In the area visiting HHI off season we fell into Ma's Porch for a late lunch as we just arrived to S.C. The property and surrounding buildings (all are spectacular)were just completed and are an ode to the Gullah Geechee people We started with the pimento cheese biscuits with a warm sweet potato butter. These are not the traditional biscuits you find in a TX breakfast place - that said I thought they were delicious! Hard surface crust, definite pimento flavor and a sizeable country portion Lunch for me was the fish and grits , fried Catfish with tons of grits. Loved the fish , perfect cook. Fish was hot , and still moist with a great crust . My wife had the chicken and waffles - fantastic. Several small chicken pieces (my only criticism) over waffles. Super crusty, moist chicken with enuff spice accompanied by a spicy hot honey (awesome)! Make sure you venture around the property and enjoy the varied open area seating or play corn hole.. great place to visit for lunch!

Visited while at a conference in nearby Hilton Head. The area is great with the restaurant, bakery, & market, as well as the outside play and sitting areas. Brings to mind a comfortable family property. We sat at the bar & had dinner at the restaurant. We were pleased that we visited on an evening when they had live music. Servers were very pleasant & informative when explaining the menu to us first-timers. Ordered a couple appetizers: the B-Rolls & Greens & Cream dip. The dip was collards & cheese and had good flavors. There were 3 different B-rolls, "buffalo biddie", deviled crab, & "samon n' cheese", and all were delicious. Although I was physically full, my eyes kept seeing such delicious looking plates coming out so I had to order more. For an entree I ordered a "Crik Dinner" with grilled scallops, red rice, & hushpuppies. Seasoned and cooked to too perfection. Also ordered a few cocktails which were all very good.

The hostess greeted us warmly upon arrival. We had reservations and were seated promptly once the rest of our party arrived. The team was also very accommodating to my friend's mobility needs, ensuring she didn't have to go up the stairs. Ma Daisy's Porch is beautiful! You can tell that there's great attention to details from the decor, landscaping furnishings etc. Our server Tee was very attentive and provided stellar customer service! She provided us with great recommendations and she was very enthusiastic throughout our experience! We had two appetizers: Biddies Crispy fried chicken wings tossed in Geechee sauce and the Crik Fries. The apps were so good! The wings were crispy and the house made sauce was great! Our server brought us some jerk ranch and it took it to another level. The fries were flavorful and tasty! The apps were honestly our favorite part of the meal. We ordered the following entrees : Da Biddie & Sweet Tata Batta 8 out of 10 Sweet Potato Waffle served with a crispy fried chicken wings with hot honey drizzle. My friends said that they couldn't taste the hot honey drizzle on the chicken but when they got a side of it the hot honey sauce it was a hit. Geechee Surf & Turf 7 out of 10 Smothered oxtails on a bed of creamy grits, topped with grilled shrimp and our crab butter gravy. It wasn't very flavorful but the grits were creamy. Shrimp & Grits 7 out of 10 Creamy grits, smothered and topped with shrimp stew and fried shrimp. My friend added a catfish and lamb chops. She reported that everything was lightly seasoned and not as flavorful as expected. We had a great experience overall! The service was warm and accommodating. The appetizers definitely stole the show, and I'd go back just for the Geechee wings and Crik fries!

So excited to finally visit and literally spent the day here having brunch at Chef B's, shopping and conversing with the many vendors from art to jewelry. I also appreciated being able to sit in the yard and watch football on the large screens. I also grabbed some dessert from Backus bakery before leaving.

Ma Daisy's has such a cute ambiance! The staff was all very friendly! My husband ordered a burger and it was HUGE and delicious. Their shrimp & grits are very tasty too, with both fried and grilled shrimp, which is a nice change from other restaurants around! The drinks we consumed were delicious too! Will definitely be returning!

I could go on for hours with how great this food was! Reminded me of mommas home cooking, the environment was so fun and the staff was so kind! I can't wait to return and try something new; the drinks were amazing as well!

The fish and grits lacked flavor, so we sent it back. The Alfredo was okay. However, the drinks and appetizers were the stars though not pictured, we got the Summer Splash and what was essentially a strawberry mojito. I would come back just for them. The oxtail rolls and crab fries were a hit; the only thing I would change is the cheese on the fries. The service was great and attentive. It was empty, and we enjoyed the outdoor seating; the ambiance was friendly and calm.

A little background: The inside usually smells awful, they need to fix the kitchen vent hoods but don't so they leave all doors open. The hostess is usually pretty curt and dismissive. Simple well liquor cocktails are priced the same as specialty. The food is disappointing to varying degrees every time. The prime rib is clearly (admittedly high quality) roast beef lunch meat. Fried chicken sandwich was dry and burned. Shrimp and grits were obviously instant grits with a bunch of kraft cheddar. Usually three strikes and you're out. But... On my last visit: a friend's band was playing and bestie wanted to go so one last shot. I ordered the whipped goat cheese and pepper jelly bc I figured it didn't need any cooking so it would be fine, and it was! But I asked for baguette instead of a corn waffle and got the latter. When I reminded her that I asked for a baguette I got an eye roll, heavy sigh, and didn't see her again until about 30 minutes later when she silently and without eye contact dropped the check on her way to another table without even breaking stride. I was going to order another drink for the end of the set! But whatever, all for the best. Thank goodness I had cash so I didn't have to wait another hour for her to run my card. Never again. Too many great options close by...where the same local bands also play.
