Perfect spot for a special night out - very intimate and chic, and the staff was kind from start to finish. Seated exactly at our reservation time. Our server, Anthony, was incredibly sweet and attentive, and Cory behind the bar made great drinks. Between the two of us, we had Caesar salads, grilled calamari, carpaccio, cocktails, wine, a 14oz filet mignon, prime rib, and finished with key lime and coconut pie. The filet literally melted in my mouth, and the prime rib had an insane crust--both cooked to perfection. We can't think of one negative thing to say. Amazing food, service, and experience. We'll definitely be back.

Went to Bluffton Room on our honeymoon in October 2025. This restaurant is hands down amazing! But the best part of all was the experience the bartender, Cory, provided at the bar. That's my guy for real. Hospitality at its finest. My wife and I always reflect on how much fun we had here. Btw, order the banana flambé...you won't regret it!

A perfect dinner....... Atmosphere is intimate and comfortable. Service was impeccable, Anthony was attentive and paced our meal beautifully. We had the Octopus and it was tender and perfectly grilled. The porterhouse for two was flame grilled to perfection and melted in our mouths. The bananas foster prepared table side was the perfect finish to our perfect dinner.

11-9-24 8pm reservation Open Table 1800th milestone review!!! This review is a pleasant surprise and definitely the best dinner we have had this year. As we are new to the area as well as South Carolina a new neighbor and friend suggested the place for us to dine at early Summer. Unfortunately at the time we could not get a reservation. I tried again for my birthday in September but even with over a month's notice totally booked. So I was totally surprised on an early Saturday morning when I went on Open Table and a reservation was available for the same day. Note they do take your credit card for a deposit for a no show. I definitely grabbed the reservation as 8 o clock was perfect, as we were used to eating later and it is preferred. As the day went on we got a call saying there was a cancellation if we would like to come earlier but hubby declined as we didn't want to arrive late as we were already prepared for 8. Once we arrived we were confused on where to park but noticed the lot next door. After we parked we could see it was valet so we tipped him although he did not take our keys and said he was packing up shortly. As we were greeted by the hostess she checked if our table was ready. We made our way to the table. There was two tables for two but hubby preferred the one closest to the wall not the one next to the bar. The hostess had to check if it was ok and it was. Now normally I detest a small table for two. However since it is a small footprint of a restaurant we were fine with it. Also the table was unusually long so that assisted in handling all the dishes we would order. Our server was spectacular. We started with cocktails and I ordered a speciality drink from their menu 15 Promenade New Amsterdam $13. vodka, basil, cucumber, fresh lemon cardamom syrup, ginger beer. Hubby had his usual Hendricks and Tonic. For appetizer I had the Foie gras $24. and the halibut $45. for the main course. Both were specials they had off menu for the day. Hubby had the Grilled Artichoke $14. to start and a 10 oz Filet $66 that needed no knife as it was soft as butter. Also ordered a side of Madeira Mushrooms $12. there was so much we took home the leftovers and added to our omelettes which was amazing. For dessert I skipped and hubby took a Chess Pie $12. with coconut home. The next day he shared a bite and it was delicious. Definitely a special place that is luckily so close to home. Hopefully I am able to get in here again in the near future. Note they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. The server explained that there is a line outside when they open for the 18 spaces at the bar. There you do not need a reservation.

We had a great time at this restaurant for their happy hour at 5 PM. I believe that's the time it started. We came with two friends who are locals and taught us that if you don't have a reservation, and you would like to eat here you can come right when they open and sit at the bar, they have a very large bar that seats around 12 to 15 people. But you have to get in line at the door before they open. The food was well worth it and my cocktail was delicious. I enjoyed the Korean barbecue chicken sandwich. It was a little sloppy to eat, but delicious. My cocktail was like a margarita with jalapeños in it or jalapeño tequila. Equally tasty.

This was my wife's and my first time to The Bluffton Room although it certainly will not be our last. Everything from food to service to ambiance was outstanding. Our server, Dana, was extremely outgoing, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu. She took us on a detailed tour of the menu since we were first timers and gave us her excellent recommendations. We started out with the grilled caesar salad and she crab soup. We think of ourselves as she crab soup aficionados and this was one of the best versions we have had in the low country. The soup had an abundance of crab and had a luxurious and smooth consistency. The grilled caesar was light and a perfect start. Next we shared a porterhouse for 2. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and sliced beautifully with some sliced mushrooms, pearl onions and a grilled tomato for flavor and color. The steak was seasoned perfectly with salt and pepper and was absolutely delicious. The steak also was accompanied by 2 sides and we chose mushrooms and brussel sprouts. The mushrooms were rich and earthy and accented the porterhouse perfectly and the brussel sprouts were a lovely green vegetable to go along with the porterhouse. They were sautéed perfectly and had the perfect amount of chew. For dessert, we had cappuccinos and shared the espresso creme brûlée. My wife said the brûlée was one of her all time favorite desserts and I agree it was sensational. The cappuccino was also fabulous. It was a lovely dinner and the pacing was perfect and relaxing. Dana led a service team that was outstanding and the restaurant is warm and charming with a beautiful bar and long window that makes for great people watching. A well deserved 5 stars. Look forward to being back soon.

Do not go here. They lie about their hours. We literally left another restaurant to eat dinner here. Show up at 9pm when Google and Yelp say they close at 10pm. The two girl hostess were LAUGHING at us as they turned us away. We left. I decide to go back and talk with a manager and he ALSO would not accommodate us. I went to go prove to him that google said 10pm HE HAD THEM CHANGE IT SO THAT I LOOKED LIKE AN IDIOT. I showed him that Yelp says "closes is 43 minutes" and he said "yeah we need to update that" YET THEIR WEBSITE OR DOOR DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A CLOSING TIME ON IT. I am SO disgustingly disappointed at the so called hospitality at a place that is so "upscale".

A branzino special, served with a lemon butter sauce

The Bluffton Room is a fine dining establishment located in the heart of historic Bluffton, and may well be one of the best restaurants in the area. The Bluffton Room features the typical New American menu, with obvious local inspiration from the low country, featuring your standard lineup of steaks, a few seafood dishes, and appetizers in line with what you'll find in similar restaurants in bigger cities like Atlanta or Charleston. Our experience started with a round of cocktails, with about a half dozen speciality cocktails on offer. Our party enjoyed a watermelon margarita in particular, though all the drinks were fairly well conceived and executed. From there, appetizers came. The star of the appetizers are the She-Crab soup, which, I cannot stress enough, is not to be missed. The lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia is famous for She Crab soup, and The Bluffton Room may make the best She Crab soup on offer. The appetizers do not end with the She Crab soup, and we were quite happy with the whole artichoke appetizer, which had a nice chargrilled, smoky flavor. Next, of course, came the mains. Half our table ordered the filet, and were quite happy with it. It's hardly a standout, but it was certainly a good steak done well (not well done, of course), and is a fine choice for those seeking the familiar. I found the lump crab entree to be quite nice, with the crab cooked perfectly atop the pasta, with the caviar providing a nice saltiness to contrast with the sweetness of the crab. Another member of the party got a branzino special, which was also cooked well and dressed with a lemon butter sauce. Finding ourselves well satisfied thus far, dessert was the obvious next move. The hot chocolate brownie with salted caramel ice cream was about as good as it sounds (very), with the key lime pie and chocolate orange crème brûlée also serving as excellent punctuation to a fantastic meal. Of course, one cannot forget to mention the excellent service at The Bluffton Room, which goes the extra mile to really make you feel at home. Coming from outside of Bluffton, and having recently moved away from the South entirely, I had forgotten just how warm and friendly service could be, with Cory providing excellent, thoughtful service. He made the effort to understand what we wanted, and no detail was ignored (even subbing an orange garnish for a lime garnish on a gin and tonic, something that I've had forgotten countless times at lesser bars and restaurants). While I've had similar quality meals at other restaurants in bigger cities, I've never quite had the level of personal service that we received at The Bluffton Room, and that service made an already great meal an exceptional meal. If you find yourself in the area, whether in Bluffton or on Hilton Head Island, The Bluffton Room is well worth a visit for an upscale meal in an area otherwise plagued by hotel restaurants and overpriced tourist fare. I'd hesitate to recommend anywhere on the island ahead of The Bluffton Room, with few restaurants competing to provide the caliber of food, drinks and service on offer. Bluffton is fortunate to have a great restaurant like this, and one hopes they'll continue leading the way in the area.

We love The Bluffton Room. We've come once a summer on vacation for the past 4 years, and have always had an excellent experience! The salmon is great, as well as the Filet Mignon. I also highly recommend the kale salad and brownie/ice cream skillet for dessert. The service has always been great. We even received warm towels to wash our hands off after having the artichoke appetizer. The restaurant is pretty inside, dimly lit and relaxing. I recommend making a reservation here!

We were quite disappointed as we didn't even have the opportunity to eat there. We had a reservation at 6pm. They called around 430 to tell us due to weather they were closing the patio area and we had our reservation cancelled. Understand that it's weather dependent and your full inside however I have never heard of a restaurant doing this and just cancelling without any other option. My biggest complaint was we arrived and still told we couldn't sit at the bar it's reserved. There was tons of space. It was also just before 6. Two families are outside eating and it's cloudy/sunny. It wasn't going to rain. The hostess as a bit curt in telling us we still can't sit outside. Please see the attached photo of the sky during this time. Ridiculous. Not coming back.

The restaurant is very charming, it's giving off White Barn Inn Kennebunkport vibes. Once you're seated, you'll see why this is a popular Low Country restaurant. We're all given menus and what I noticed was a game changer. Farm is offering a three course tasting menu but the entire table has to participate. My wife was feeling under the weather so I grabbed the waiter to the side and said, we're all in with the tasting menu except my wife. Can you make an exception? Not a problem sir! The three course menu does not include the popular Farm corn bread. I placed an order before our tasting started. You're probably saying, what's so special about corn bread? Man... If lovin' you is wrong, I don't wanna be right. The corn bread was cooked in a skillet pan, the end result was a buttery, sweet treat. The sharable starters came to the table. Roasted May River Oysters, Beef Carpaccio and Burrata with shaved ham. The Roasted May River Oysters were my favorite bite of all these selections. The oysters were large and plumpy and the chef did not overcook the shell fish. Next, the waiter dropped off a huge bowl of Shrimp Rice along with a Heritage Pork Chop. This is what elevated southern cooking is all about, the pork chop was moist and had a wonderful taste. Another highly recommended dish. Dessert, I was starting to get really full but the Blueberry Olive Oil cake did not disappoint. There was a Toll House Hand Made Pie, also very good but I really full at this point of the meal. First time dining at Farm, it was a pleasure to dine here and I can't wait to return.

Before leaving town, we decided to have dinner, and that is where Farm comes in. We decided to go with the recommendation of the staff up front and the waiter, choosing the Anthology menu for dinner. That selection was impossible to be disappointed with. The food is sourced locally, the taste is exceptional, and the service (shout-out to Justin) is outstanding. We just planned a return visit to Bluffton for May. This is what a low-country dining experience should be.

We got there 15 minutes after they opened and the only ones seated at the bar. You would think they would be on top of things that early in the evening. Nope, my wife had to wait 18 minutes to get her wine (which we bought the whole bottle). Second, they haven't changed their fryer oil in FOREVER!!!! Yes, I know what I'm talking about. As it being an open kitchen and you can see everything. We witnessed them take oil they just cooked in a pan and dump it in the fryer with the other oil. Are ya kidding me??? All the fried food came out dark as all get out it's been that long since they changed it or even filtered it. Third, some of the cook wore gloves and others didn't. No big deal normally. I watched one cook reach in the garbage and then proceeded to start preparing food!!!! No fing way!!!! Four, the Egg Roll was bland, the inside ingredients was garbage. Over cooked and tough. My wife's filet was under seasoned (well no seasoning at all), a cheap cut of meat and dry!!! The béarnaise sauce tasted and looked like it came out of a jar. It was the worst I've ever tasted. She asked for no vegetables and the risotto instead. She did get the risotto. I'll admit, that wasn't so bad. The bread that was under the filet was ICE cold. Not even sure why they served it or put it on the plate. Fifth, this is a one and done for us. There are soooooo many better options in the area with a better menu, price and service. To say disappointing is an understatement. Oh ya, almost forgot. We had to get a Togo bag and it reminded me of the bags you use to pick up your dogs poop. I'm not even joking.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.
