We arrived at 11:30 and had the benefit of brunch and lunch menus. We were seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive. We both had egg bowls that were awesome. I was greeted with quick seating to their lovely outdoor covered patio and helpful service. Plenty of fans keeping the heat away on this unusually pleasant August morning. Their menu is extensive with plenty of domestic and imported wines, craft beer and creative cocktails to pair with your meal. I opted for the Soup, Salad and biscuit "Nectar Combo" with She Crab Bisque, their Nectar Salad and a sweet potato biscuit. The Nectar salad has thick cut bacon, cucumber, blistered tomatoes, blue cheese, topped with toasted almonds served with their tomato vinaigrette. It had fresh mixed greens and was very good! The She Crab Bisque was flavorful but very thick - not actually a bisque texture. Backing off the thickening ingredient of their bisque would improve this soup. Lastly, I changed my original choice of Seafood Omelette once I found out their shrimp is brought in from Louisiana. I do not understand having access to fresh shrimp daily in this coastal area just off the Atlantic Ocean and opting to serve frozen, trucked in shrimp. I guess to comes down to profit? I was glad I asked my waitress, and I appreciate her checking and giving me an honest response. I'll return, but I certainly won't be ordering their shrimp unless they change their supplier to one of the local businesses. read more

Every time we come to Bluffton, we make it a point to stop by Nectar Farm Kitchen, because aside from the food, I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff is. The restaurant has a relaxed, summer vibe, where you truly feel comfortable. They also have a cute storefront, where you can try local honey, as well as other local souvenirs. This past stay at Montage, we went to Nectar Farm twice! The menu is extensive, so anyone can find anything to appeal to their appetite! What was great was they were able to be flexible and accommodate our large party of 12! Each time our servers were fantastic, and so helpful. It's hard overseeing a large party, but they did an excellent job. They were helpful, and fast! We tried everything from steak to seafood, and salads! Portions were hearty, and prices extremely reasonable! We will definitely be making a point to come here as often as possible! read more

I first want to compliment Angel, our waitress, who had the patience of an angel, and who truly made our experience at Nectar wonderful! She was so patient with all of our questions, she put the date and name of the leftover in the container on the front, she was on point with refills and check ins, and she was just someone who brought a smile to my face. Nectar is beautiful inside and out. Every little detail made Nectar feel like home. Plenty of seating without feeling cramped! We got the shrimp salad sandwiches and the shrimp salad Benedict. I enjoyed my shrimp salad sandwich on a gluten free bun with a side sweet potato. I do wish there was maybe more crunch and texture to the shrimp salad itself, but the gluten free bun used was great and held up nicely to the sandwich and the toppings. Mom said that her Benedict was great, including the buttery biscuit and hollandaise which was really nicely balanced - not too rich or overpowering. The chips were also very much loved by my parents, and I appreciated that I could get a sweet potato which was perfectly cooked on the side due to cross contamination concerns. Nectar is a solid choice for lunch, and I would Defintely recommend stopping by. Had our anniversary dinner at Nectar in Blufton SC. Really enjoyed the meal - shrimp and crab and grits was amazing - as were the deviled eggs. My husband loved the southern poutine, and the surf & turf special. We had a half bottle Veuve, a shared Pinot Noir, and I had the vanilla martini for dessert while he had the steamed white chocolate. And a banana pudding to share. I would go 4.5 stars, but will go with 4 stars. We went here during our recent trip and the food was generally good although the entrees were better than the appetizers. We ordered deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes and they were both good, but all the entrees were better. The issue was that the booth we sat in had like no air circulation and I realized across the restaurant was considerably better. The waitress was really nice, although I felt nickled and dimed with the side of toasted bread for the shrimp and grits being an extra charge. When you're spending $180 for dinner for 5 people who aren't even drinking alcohol, they could throw in a side of bread with an entree that clearly needs it. I appreciated their lunch special of soup and salad and biscuit, especially once the waitress said they could do any soup. I chose the chicken soup, which I didn't realize was a creamy chicken soup rather than clear broth. It was still pretty tasty. The salad had an interesting tomato vinaigrette and killer crispy black eyed peas as a topping (so unique I've never had that before). Had a very nice dinner at Nectar Farm. We decided to order a few appetizers first and then share one of their bowls. We started with the she crab soup and the tomato hand pie. Both were tasty. The hand pie had a nice flaky crust that my wife enjoyed. Next we ordered a crab cake and the poutine. I thought these two dishes were the highlight of the meal. The crab cake had tons of crab and wasn't overpowered by other unnecessary fillers or flavors. Perfect. The poutine was also incredible. The pork had so much flavor! We finished the night out by sharing the butcher's bowl. Unfortunately, this one fell a little flat. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. But the whole dish seemed to lack flavor. Maybe some sort of sauce to go with it would have helped. But we still had a great experience. Tucked into downtown Bluffton, this is a charming restaurant surrounded by beautiful old buildings. We sat outside in the shade on a late August evening. The fans and shade were able to keep up making it comfortable enough to stay for dinner. We started with the crab dip. I would not recommend this dish. The portion was small for the money with very little crab to be found. Also as you can see from the photo it was greasy which was a first for me in my crab dip escapades. The tortilla chips they serve with it were too thick making them very hard (think break a tooth) and they had no flavor. When our waitress checked in with us we told her about the chips and she offered a baguette. 10 minutes later she came back with 4 slices of toasted bread that we were charged $3 for. For dinner we got the spicy chicken and pickles sandwich and the farm bowl. The farm stand bowl was ok if you were like us and looking for a healthy counterbalance to the fried chicken. I thought the chicken sandwich was tasty though the bottom slice came soaked making it difficult to eat. read more

Nectar Farm Kitchen is a lovely casual restaurant. The indoor and outdoor space can accommodate an individual to a large group. The restaurant has its own parking lot. It is a decent size. Depending upon how busy they are it can become difficult to get a spot. There is designated golf cart parking too. Folks will park their cars in awkward spots sometimes. Just be aware you may have to do some creative three to five point turns to get out of your spot if the lot is full and someone parked behind you. The menu is priced appropriately. The ambiance and seating inside and outside is well thought out. We sat inside next to the bar on a high top. The seats were comfortable. The restrooms were to our left. We arrived in time to still be seated for brunch on Saturday. The menu is expansive. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as the starter. It comes with bacon jam, goat feta, and a remoulade. The dish was lacking salt. And the bacon jam was unfortunately more like the consistency of bacon jelly with tiny bits of bacon. My husband ordered the duck hash and a side of mac and cheese. Again salt was needed to all, once added he enjoyed his meal. He especially enjoyed the sweet potato biscuit that came with it. He said the mac and cheese was ok. I ordered the bacon tomato sandwich. It was not built well. I had to take it upon myself to rebuild part of the sandwich. The bread which was toasted to perfection, was too big for the sandwich. I ended up ripping off a good bit of it so I would not eat straight bread. The fry chips were delicious, once I added salt. Those were honestly my favorite part of the entire meal! I could eat an entire basket of those fry chips with honey mustard or ranch! They are scrumptious! The service was ok. Our server was polite. She should have checked on us more. And the hostess when we first came in seemed to be having a rough day. But we have all had bad days. Overall I feel that maybe we could have come on an off day is what I am hoping. read more

Perfect lunch stop! We were in between breakfast and lunch so most of our group leaned into egg-based dishes. My Mother Earth omelette was almost spot on, though the eggs were a bit over cooked, but the veggies were plentiful and a sweet potato biscuit felt like the perfect complement. The food is fresh and locally sourced and the coffee on offer is good too-- plus, make sure you get the house-made compote (which pairs perfectly with the biscuit, fyi). Service was fun but attentive, and we had a great rapport with Reagan, so all in all a great meal from start to finish. The interior is casual with slightly a funky vibe, though the space is fairly small inside with a few tables and booths and a separate bar at the back with stools. Historically a favorite, but a series of service lapses this visit I have always loved Nectar Farm and have consistently had great food and experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a significant letdown across the board. Despite having a confirmed reservation for a 4-top table indoors, the host was unable to honor it. We were first offered a table outside directly next to a loud band in the hot sun. When I declined, the only other option offered was upstairs. This was quite difficult as two members of my party have mobility issues and struggle with stairs. Once seated, the atmosphere was chaotic due to a large private party sharing the space. The service timing was also off; our main courses arrived less than two minutes after our appetizers. While the food tasted good, the portions were surprisingly small. My fried shrimp entree was a very meager serving--I actually had to eat again shortly after arriving home. To top it off, there was significant confusion with the billing at the end, requiring the server to redo the tickets. I truly hope this was just an "off" night, as the quality of service did not match the reputation I've come to expect from Nectar. read more

Tried this place for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. The food is awesome I haven't tried a dish I didn't like yet. The service is great they are super friendly and have a little toy box for kids when they leave. They have an outside patio with music or you can sit inside. Parking is a hit or miss because it's in the back but it gets filled very quickly, there is extra parking across the street and you can just walk over. Tons of little shops in the area for when you're done eating. This is a must try spot. read more

Super cute restaurant in Bluffton! Great location in their quaint downtown area and we were seated immediately in the patio bar at high tables. If you want an actual table and you're coming at dinner time you'll likely have to wait. Our waitress was friendly but did not do a good job with service. The patio was not very crowded and she kept disappearing and not taking our order. We finally flag her down to put it in, and our food took almost an hour to come out. She also just kept saying "it's coming and ready in the kitchen" every time she walked by even though we still waited another 15,30,45 minutes. The live music was nice and my bowl was great! Super healthy and lite. Not really enough to be a meal unless you add the additional meats. read more
