The family and I had a great dining experience at Nectar. Service and food were phenomenal. Hush puppies were excellent. I got the fish of the day, broiled, and served with carolina gold rice, shrimp, and vegetables. Portions sizes are wonderful at Nectar. Each of us enjoyed our food. Our kids are older teenagers, so there go tos were the steak sandwich and fried chicken. They really enjoyed the flavor and taste. Menu-wise, there were a wide variety of options. My wife enjoyed the shrimp and grits. I tried the fried flounder, and it was excellent. Our server was very friendly and jovial. My son wanted buffalo wings that were shown numerous times on Yelp and other media pages and they had none . He had shrimp Wich was good and fries but the fires are actual chips. Nectar is an absolute gem... farm-to-fork dining at its finest. Right away they score points for taking reservations, which is a rare and beautiful thing on Hilton Head. They also have a kids menu, which makes family dinners infinitely easier. We started with the bread service and it was phenomenal. Italian bread, Amish butter, ricotta cheese, and an olive oil situation that tasted like someone whispered sweet nothings to a bone marrow and convinced it to become a dipping sauce. It was fantastic. No notes. Zero. Perfect. I went with the shrimp and grits and they absolutely sang. My wife ordered the farm steak salad bowl, which looked and sounded delightful. Around the table we also had the trifecta bowl and the osso buco, and every single person was raving about their meal. That's always a good sign. The wine selection was excellent, the cocktails looked fantastic, and our waiter George was attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without ever hovering. This is the kind of restaurant you can return to over and over and never get tired of. Great food, great service, great atmosphere... if you're on Hilton Head, make this one a priority. read more

We picked this restaurant because of the ratings on Yelp and TripAdvisor. There was virtually no wait for us to get our table for five. Our server was very friendly and did his best to make sure we had a good experience. Our meals consisted of the Dr. Joe's Duck Hash, Southern Chicken 'n Waffles, and the Low Country Sea Omelette. The Duck Hash was very good. The mixture of pulled duck meat, root vegetables, and green onions mixed with a sunny side up egg was perfect. The Low Country Sea Omlette came out with a burnt sweet potato biscuit that had to be replaced. The Chicken that came with the Chicken 'n Waffles was dried up and also had to be replaced. The hostess (Laura or Lauren) took steps to make up for the burned food. The ambiance is like a typical breakfast place - bustling with lots of animated conversations happening at once. read more

I visited Nectar on 10/20/25 and it was a very pleasant experience. We sat at the bar and enjoyed brunch. The bar area is really cute, clean and aesthetically pleasing. The food was really delicious and so were the drinks. They offer ample parking and the wait was minimal on this day. They even had a nice selection of music playing. DO NOT USE THE DOG MENU!! I ordered off the dog menu for my small dog and ended up in the emergency animal hospital that same night. The food came back cooked on a dirty, greasy grill with salt, pepper flakes, and oil. All of this is toxic to dogs. My dog was severely dehydrated and had to stay overnight. The vet bill was over $2,000. The chefs here have zero training on what dogs can and cannot eat. If you have a small dog, please do not order from this menu. Southern charm comes to mind when I recount this experience. We got huevos rancheros, duck hash, kids pancakes and a sticky bun. Recommended - the kid pancake was giant. My son loved it. It was the size of a pizza pie and he ate most of it (he is 4). We also got a sticky bun which was much bigger than expected. My daughter is a picky eater and this one she approved it. The huevos rancheros were ok. I didn't love them. There was too much salt and too much spice that didn't blend well and they used lentils that literally drowned any texture and flavor from the rest of the dish. Interesting concept but I didn't like it. They hubby got the duck hash which would have been better with regular instead of sweet potatoes. The place is charming. There is seating inside and outside. There are also TVs, where we watched some tennis. Service was good. Overall, they seem to do the sweet dishes well and aren't as greasy on others. The place has a nice space and warm southern vibes. Atmosphere was very peaceful and breezy sitting outside on the patio. The food was the best breakfast we've eaten in Hilton Head. Chicken and waffles, low country sea omelette, southern breakfast and po-boy oyster sandwich were outstanding! The coffee and the honey latte ice/hot were delicious. Of all of the places to tryin in Hilton Head, I'm glad we gave Nectar a shot. The food was delicious and the portions were enormous. Its not all about quantity, its got to taste good too... They hit all the marks here. I ordered a pork schnitzel which was more of a southern version. I got it with mashed potato and collard greens. I honestly think I made a poor choice. The pork schnitzel was good, but not great- I think if I got something a little more traditional I would have enjoyed it more. That said, the portion was generous and the sides were great. As far as pork schnitzels go though, it was pretty average. However, my wife got a smothered pulled pork bowl and let me tell you, if you are looking for southern flavor without all the "fried", go for it. The pork was crisped up and it was smothered in a pepper gravy and it was very forward on the pepper. It was fantastic- wish I ordered it... We got a side (basically a mountain) of fried brussels sprouts and a tomato hand pie as an appetizer. Hand pie was decent, worth trying, but wouldn't get again. It was just okay. Nothing amazing to write home about. The brussels sprouts damn near killed us. The oil from them being fried and the hot pepper flakes turned into chili oil in the bowl and the bursts of flavor from the sprouts can hit the back of your throat, so be warned there.. It was a portion and a half though. Definitely a sharable size among 3-4 people. If you eat these with one other person you may have a little bit of an upset stomach, so much oil. All of that said, I would come back here. I thought overall it was very pleasant. The service could have been a little better and food choices could have been a little different but that part is on us. read more

Nectar, it was a bleak experience for their thanksgiving dinner plan. Had a reservation for 5:00pm. At 5 pm, nectar is out of prime rib. By, 5:30pm nectar is out of turkey. Nectar is still seating people with the menu disappearing each minute. By 7:00pm, Nectar has one appetizer out of six choices left. My combination white dark turkey meal had no white meat. My wife's turkey meal luckily had a little of both so she gave me a couple of small slices. Both turkey dinners had no gravy. Her salad had heated tomatoes, not blistered so they were extra mushy. The sweet potato dressing and the mashed potatoes were very good and slightly warm. Unfortunately, all the rest of the food was cold. At Dessert time, no apple clobber was left. My pumpkin bread pudding I had ordered was also gone, so I had the chocolate cake as the last available dessert option. When we left at 7:00pm Nectar was still seating people. I have no idea what they were going to eat. It was an extremely expensive meal with many missing food options available at 5:00pm and getting more limited as the time pasted. We have eaten at Nectar for breakfast and lunch over the years, so we expected good food. Nectar's thanksgiving menu was a disaster and absolutely awful. The service staff was good and tried to make it less of an abysmal evening. We have enjoyed Nectar in the past, but were really disappointed with the Thanksgiving meal. Planning was poor. read more

We have enjoyed this restaurant in Previous visits to HHI. We were excited to return. But it was a disaster. 11:30 on Wednesday. Party of 2. We sat at the bar. We waited no less than 10 mins for someone to take our order. After 30 mins of giving our order we asked for an update...the bartender gave us a snarky answer. We also heard him be rude to several co workers. Our food took 45 mins to come out. And it was wrong. A manager stepped in. She helped get our food out and was very apologetic. We had to take it to go because we had a flight. She did not charge us for our order but we had to throw it away because most of it had been sitting forever and was soaked with grease. The new location is no where near as nice as the bright cheery location near Sea Pines. It's dark and loud. We were sad as we were looking forward to our visit. Won't go back. Very pleasant, with fans and shaded tables. We had great service. The food was very good, but our overall experience was impacted because there were so many flies surrounding our table when our food arrived, that we could not fully enjoy. Looking to come back. This is our go-to spot for breakfast and brunch on the island. It's simply fantastic with an expansive menu with daily specials. The food is always consistent with excellent portion size and the service is always impeccable. A few must try's are: Cinnamon Roll, Low Country Seafood Omelette, their biscuits, their spicy sausage and more. While we love all the servers we've had there.
