Great food, great atmosphere. Kyle Wareham entertains every Monday evening. He's fantastic! The wings were great as were the tacos. Dessert was ample and good. Wait wasn't bad.

    Steak Nacho!! Very good

Steak Nacho was fire. Steak was tender. The portion is like an entree. Burgers were fine. Onion ring was a bit doughy. Fish n Chip was very good.

I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if I could. We started with what would end up being the highlight of the meal - the She crab soup. Simply delicious. Possibly the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, our main dishes were a bit of a let down from there. My wife got the shrimp tacos. They were functional but nothing special. I had the grouper sandwich. On the positive side, it was a beautiful fillet that looked and tasted fresh. But unfortunately, there was almost no flavor to the dish. Basically salt and fish. Maybe add some garlic powder, or paprika to the batter? It was too bland. That said, the atmosphere was nice, waiter attentive and soup incredible. I'd comeback for the soup and a drink.

The Shrimp and the blue crab were excellent in the salad. There was no need for dressing. The pieces of blue crab were sizeable-- which was surprising considering blue crab meat is limited since they are so small. The she crab soup was delightful. The night before I tried the she crab soup at Poseidon which was completely different. This one was a cream base which reminded me of New England Clam Chowder. This really hit the spot satiating a seafood craving. The service and server were super friendly and talkative. Our waiter was working real hard in the 90 degree weather in the outdoor seating. All with a smile while sweating profusely. There was a fan blowing nearby to keep us cool. overall, had a positive experience! Would recommend!

Don't let the fact that The Sandbar is not on the water keep you away, because they have figured out a way to make you feel all the beach vibes without a drop of sand. We came here in June on a busy Thursday evening with our two teens. We had to wait 40 minutes, but it was no big deal given that there are shops in the parking lot to wander while you wait. After a little bit we split from the kids. While they were shopping me and hubby grabbed a drink at the bar. They had a band that was really good which helped contribute to the coastal atmosphere. The pretzel with beer cheese was a total hit amongst all of us! I didn't try the quesadilla but my kids said it might be the best they've ever had. That's high praise from those two flour, water and cheese connoisseurs. My kids had burgers (they had seafood the night before and wanted a break). They said they were good. I didn't try it but they were thick patties, cheese was mostly melted and the tomato was thick. Hubby had the Tacos de Pescado and they were delicious! I had a bite and I loved them. They had the perfect crisp. The flavors and the texture of the fish was excellent. I had Grilled Scallop Tacos and they were yummy. The flour tortillas were fried to perfection however, the scallops were a bit over cooked. And I really was not a fan of having the rice in the taco. At a certain point I dumped the taco out and ate it with a fork, but it was delicious. Aside from the scallops, every other individual part was cooked really well. We came here for it's proximity to Sonesta Resort but I'd make a little trip for this place any day. It was an enjoyable time.

This place was SUPER packed. We managed to get a spot at the bar while the wait was at 45-60 minutes. The food was epic. I got a shrimp "cocktail " it was amazing. The crusted grouper was really really good. There was a slight mishap which was inconsequential. But the manager came out and made it right. I'll definitely be back

Hurricane Shrimp! So good! It never misses!

Always amazing! Great food! I get the hurricane shrimp which I love! The tots are also great!

    Coconut Shrimp!

A day trip to HHI to enjoy the sand and sounds had us craving a little something before we headed home! I had the coconut shrimp and my daughter had shrimp tacos! We split the Mexican street corn appetizer and it was also very delish!! Service was fast and friendly!! We chose to sit outside as I still had my swim dress on! But they do offer indoor and outdoor seating! Will definitely swing by next time we're in town! Oh and since I was driving home, we didn't get any drinks but the drink menu looked great too!!!

Witch Doctor - ate what I could despite much of the peppers, onions, and sausage being burned.

Service was great but food was not. $18 Grouper sandwich my wife got was frozen, not fresh. The Witch Doctor sandwich I got had shrimp, sausage, peppers and onions. Some of it sat on the grill far too long and was black (not blacked) and burned. Gross. How can you serve it like that? Not to mention the prices shown on the menu are cash only. 4% up charge for credit card. Giving them 3 stars only because I didn't have the time to bring it up to management so we ate our food, paid and left.

Good place to stop for dinner and drinks near Coligny. Love the outside patio and the daily live music. Enjoyed the quinoa bowl with blackened shrimp and a side of onion rings. Service was quick (sat at the bar).

Love the happy hour specials, live music, and proximity to the playground! Classic beach bar food and chill vibes all around, well worth a stop in

We sat outside and had a lovely time. The location is great. Located right by all of the shopping so a great place to go after doing some shopping! Our waitress was super sweet and the service was speedy. The sweet potato tots were very good. You couldn't even tell it was made of sweet potato. The piece of grouper on the sandwich was huge and delicious. I wasn't impressed with the crab soup. The superfood salad was tasty and the shrimp cocktail was fresh.

Visited, The Sandbar Beach Eats later in the evening, and I might have come too late because the place was pretty dead. The atmosphere didn't leave much of an impression, and the dim lighting made it feel a little too dark for my liking. It was even hard to find the spot initially. I ordered the fried grouper sandwich, which was fine--not bad, but nothing to write home about. The server was okay but not particularly attentive, which might have been due to how quiet it was. Overall, it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit again. Maybe it's better earlier in the day when there's more energy, but as it stands, I'd give it 3 stars. It has potential but didn't quite deliver this time.

Great Food, Family Friendly, Great location near beach. May want to call ahead because it gets crowded and may need to wait.

They were incredibly attentive to us and wouldn't let us clean up our own baby's mess when we asked to afterwards. No need to order guac and/or queso at this place because they have the Three Amigos option which gives you the chips (good ones here, not the cheap ones), salsa, queso, and guac. Menu offered a ton of variety and combos of individual things. The sides were super good (don't feel that's the case at a lot of similar restaurants); my daughter couldn't get enough of those from our plates. The food came out shortly after that and it didn't disappoint. We'll be back!

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. Rare 5 star from us.

I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.

The Atmosphere & Vibe The energy here is infectious. Even though it was packed for trivia night, the layout keeps things feeling social rather than cramped. A standout feature is the outdoor seating area--it's incredibly charming and comfortable, complete with cozy couches, and a beautiful statue and fountain nearby, to add a relaxing backdrop. I'm already planning a return trip for warmer weather; the restaurant has these giant garage doors that look like they open the entire space up to the patio. I can only imagine how cool that "3-wall" indoor-outdoor breeze feels during a meal! Service & Speed Despite every table being full, the service was impressively sharp. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the food came out remarkably quickly. Usually, a Friday night rush means a long wait, but the kitchen here is clearly a well-oiled machine. The Food & Menu The menu offers a fantastic variety, ranging from authentic tacos to more elaborate signature entrees. Everything we ordered was delicious--fresh ingredients, bold spices, and perfect presentation. Had to pay for chips and salsa, ( unlike other Mexican restaurants ) but it was optional and worth the three bucks. Bottom line: Whether you're there for the trivia, the fountain-side lounging, the margaritas, or just the tacos, this place delivers a top experience.
