My husband and I decided to try out this restaurant on our day out and see what it was all about. We wanted the brisket and the oxtail but they didn't have any so we tried the salmon and the jerk chicken which was flavorful. We met the chef as he came to our table to say hi which was nice of him. The rice and peas could have used some more flavor but other than that we would like to go back when hopefully they have the oxtail and brisket. read more

The jerk chicken is perfectly seasoned with just the right kick, the oxtail is tender and rich, and the salmon with rice is cooked to perfection. The she-crab soup is outstanding...creamy and savory. What a delightful meal! We really enjoyed Chef Vernon's culinary expertise. Last night we decided to try something new and we were so glad that we did. Chef Vernon's Table was the perfect place for fresh, homecooked quality. I ordered the Braised Brisket and it was so good that I would describe it as serendipitous! The meat melted in my mouth, the mashed potatoes were creamy, and the sauteed vegetables with cooked perfectly so they still retained a slight crunch. My husband ordered the burger with mushrooms and cheese which was also delicious but the brisket was "to die for". This restaurant belongs in Moncks Corner because we do not have anything else like it. We needed this! Please visit. I will be back and I intend to try something new every time I go. This one has a smooth creamy delicate texture and LOADS of crab meat... and a flavor that says i'll be back for more. I had the oxtail , which was fall off the bone, and more than i could finish. The coconut rise with beans were tasty and not too "BEANY" The wife had lamb chops (5) and she also wants to come back again. As a professional in restaurant sanitation, everything was spotless from the glasses to the silverware. Even though they did not read my book , they were doing everything listed in it... Great location and amble parking. Clean relaxing atmosphere. Knowledgeable friendly staff and chief. She Crab soup plentiful but lukewarm. Curry Chicken, rice, plantain and veggies were served hot and plentiful but were soupy, lacked seasoning and void of flavor...Very bland as was the oxtail...soupy lacked flavor but plentiful. I decided to give this restaurant another try, but I was a bit confused after reading other reviews--many of the dishes they mentioned weren't even on the menu. The interior has been newly renovated and looks very nice, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. However, the exterior could use some work. Improving the curb appeal would make it more inviting to those passing by. The jerk chicken was very good, and the vegetables were excellent. However, the rice was overcooked and mushy--not really to my taste. I ordered a salad for $8. While the choice of lettuce was good, it felt lacking overall. For that price, it would have been nice to have more toppings or variety. The stuffed mushrooms with spinach and goat cheese were delicious and presented beautifully--definitely a highlight of the meal. The she-crab soup had good flavor, but the texture was too thick, and unfortunately, there were pieces of shell in it. After that, I wasn't able to finish. Lastly, since we were the only customers in the restaurant, I was surprised the owner or chef didn't come by to speak with us. A small gesture like that can go a long way in creating a welcoming experience. read more

I came here with my mom after she'd seen rave reviews. Our experience did not disappoint! We made reservations, and because of that we were given a place with a tablecloth and an elevated table setting. Our server Brie was super friendly and attentive. Our food was delicious - it was the most crab I've ever had in she crab soup, and the mushroom, goat cheese, and spinach bites were little explosions of flavor. We even got complementary mimosas and a dessert to share. The dessert was light, refreshing, and the perfect was to top off the meal. We both left feeling full and happy. I ate my food too fast to take a picture but I had the shrimp curry and it was so yummy!! The plate is huge, came with coconut rice, veggies and plantains. Made a reservation for my parents 50th anniversary dinner on January 17th and gave my cc# for a small deposit in the event of cancellation within 24 hours of our Feb 14th reservation. Then, today, the slimey chef calls to demand a $25 fee be paid now for being able to eat there on Valentine's Day. WTH? I have never heard of a fee bring paid ahead of time for eating on Valentine's Day, especially when I made the reservation an entire week ago. So, I canceled the whole dinner. I went with a group of 12 people for the Tuesday special which was BBQ ribs. They were excellent! They fell off the bone and were served with yellow rice and collar greens. The presentation of everything was beautiful and the portions were huge! Everyone raved about their meal! Greetings everyone Took the family by Chef Vernon's after an afternoon of softball and the experience was WONDERFUL! I wasn't able to leave a Google review yet, this restaurant is that new. The jerk chicken and curry chicken was outstanding! Some of the best we've ever had. Our daughter had the garlic parmesan wings which were fried perfectly and generously seasoned. The refreshed interior makes the dining and bar area feel open and welcoming. Get there before the crowds start heading that way. With food and service like this, it won't be long before popularity makes it a bit harder to get a seat quickly. We even had the chance to meet the chef and thank him personally when we were done, thanks again and we will try to make it in for brunch one day read more
