should have know better when they told me the bathrooms are OUTSIDE
    FoodSamplier B.

Dirty --Food Just Ok--Restroom a joke--Won't EVER be Back The Hush Puppies were over cooked and GREASY. The Calamari rings were the smallest ever served to us. The Fish was good. But the place was Dirty along with the soup spoons. (felt gritty). And if you looked up and saw the air duct vent and ALL THE DUST hanging from it; it's wonder it didn't drop on our food. And you might not believe this but the girl at the next table yelled look what is walking across the floor. I'll just leave that to you imagination. Think the need a few traps. (not a small one ) The bathroom (which is outside the building ) had hardly enough space to sit without hitting your head. And to pull up your pants you have to turn sideways and make sure your not standing on the toilet platform at the same time. Pity the fat person. NO JOKE And WATCH OUT for the tip rates prefigured on the check. The tip is supposed to be a certain percentage of ONLY the food . Not the Sales Tax or even the credit card surcharge amount . This place figures the tip on the entire bill cost based on credit card payment. NEVER WILL I BE BACK ; OR RECOMMEND TO A FRIEND Disclaimer: because everything about this place in my review is so negative; I state that the above is all my opinion, you have to decide for yourself.

Such a cute little unassuming place

The restrooms are porta-John's, but the place itself is so cute and unassuming. The food was good, and portions were perfect for us. The staff was friendly and fast, it's not a five-star stop, but consistent, clean, and good food.

Hands down the best seafood in town ! I'm a local here, 7th generation in fact, and we've been coming here since they opened! This week my son came home to visit. This was the one thing he wanted other than Mama's cooking, SeeWee fried seafood! He's leaving in the morning! We came for lunch. We both had delicious Lunch Seafood Platters. Our server Kerry was the best we've ever had here! The service was fast, she spaced out our apps and the food arriving perfectly !! Wonderfully shabby is how I'd call the atmosphere. Very down home and that's the kid of cooking and service you'll get here! It's the one all of us locals recommend!! Enjoy!

What a great find while traveling! Family owned restaurant in a converted home. Service was very good. Loved the fish, soup and the hush puppies were very good and different from what I've had before. The lump crab was colder than I thought it would be and a bit overwhelming. I think I'm just used to having warm crab, so that's on me. The oysters were very large and the portion can be easily shared by a while table. I enjoyed the Sunday Mimosa. This is a must restaurant if passing through to or from Charleston.

A great hole in the wall, locals only type spot. You'll find as good of fried fish here as anyone in the Charleston area. Add in the classic southern menu and you've got a winner! The hushpuppies that came with the meal were a crowd pleaser and nearly everyone in our group of 11 enjoyed their meal. My fried oysters were excellent. Perfect batter, fresh, light, and just the right bite to them. They were my favorite protein of any of the tables entries I tried. The red rice was a super flavorful winner. And the greens were solid. I was wishing for more crunch on the fried green tomato's but they were still tasty. Fried shrimp were a winner. The fried flounder was maybe the least favorite dish. Still solid but not enough to come back for. On the downside, we waited nearly an hour for our table. And upon checking in with the host, it sounded like they'd forgotten about our large group and wanted to split us between a couple tables. Ultimately the food, service, and ambiance made up for it. Just be sure to stay on top of the host when you go

We love Seewee for that southern seafood dive! It's a no frills place but you'll find great food. It's way bigger than it appears with parking around, right off the highway for easy access. We've taken almost everyone when visiting us! Lunch and dinner both equally great! Usually get one of the specials, they offer great choices of friend, blackened, grilled etc. It then meets everyone's preferences. Great prices and even better desserts. All cakes/pies are made in house and you must always get dessert even if it's to go! We love having a great local place to support! Good for small or large groups! Staff is always so nice and attentive, never any issues here!

Late afternoon arrival and in search of a place to eat I consulted good old YELP. I'm familiar with restaurants around Bluffton and HHI but not Mt Pleasant but YELP to the rescue ! We found SeaWee and fell in hungry - glad we did! Specialty is country comfort food with plenty of fish dishes. They start you out with complimentary hush puppy's. The HP's were sweet, fried right and fresh - so good I asked for a second basket Next came the flounder platter . You can have your fish friied or blackened - I did mine blackened. Fish was delicate and well cooked- only complaint was I felt it could have had more blackening. The platter comes with 3 (yes THREE!) Sides . Now there were many choices but today I chose fried green tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and butter beans I would definitely stop in again , the place has an excellent list of southern country desserts and is a real experience to a throwback restaurant in the south

We came here for lunch on the advice of some locals and they were spot on. The place has a wonderfully authentic vibe, they are being themselves and you will leave with a far better experience than if you had chosen any of the chain competitors in the area. If you have a ride, it is worth the changeup from downtown Charleston. We look forward to returning.

Great Value. Wanted to love it ...maybe we just got the wrong items. Heading into Charleston and stopped in for lunch. It's in a cute old home. Service was great. The hush puppies were great. The oyster poboy was good but I don't like mayo on it and kind of wished there was an aoli or remoulade for it. The fried flounder sandwich was good. If I am being picky, both were on the same hoagie roll that was a little too much bread for me. I got onion rings as my side. They were good but a little under cooked.

And coleslaw that reminds me of Jewish delis from my childhood, but finely shredded. I had the fish tacos which were swordfish today, the salsa on there is perfect with the fish. Cocktails were good and if you've ever been to the BVI, the best painkiller that's not there, they even use Pusser's Rum. I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu.

I didn't have to pry the oyster away from the shell, I got no grit, no broken pieces of shell and the oyster liquor was filled to the brim. All I had to do was tip those babies up and down the hatch they went. I trusted the shucker to give me two each of his top three choices and to say he came through was a complete understatement. We had two from Maine called Mosher Island. Delicious. Clean and sweet. Perfectly sized. Next came Lil Stoner from North Carolina. Even better if that's possible. I could have easily eaten a dozen. Love their cocktail and mignonette sauces, but these oysters did not need them whatsoever. And saving the best for last were Lowcountry Cups from South Carolina which had a briny kick to them that made my toes curl up! Seriously. I was sorry I had already ordered other items because I just wanted to keep indulging in those raw morsels of heaven. The crispy oysters were fine but all that sauce and sweetness detracted completely from the oyster itself which was fried perfectly. Next time, no sauce for me. Just did not require it. Same with the oyster po boy. Messy to eat because it had splashes of this and that and more. Those oysters just did not need it. Shrimp taco was quite good. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and they were a good value. Its seasoning didn't drown out the seafood flavor, just enhanced it. I can only imagine what their soft shell crab is like. Next year! The cocktails were great and the service was outstanding. Aiden could not have been nicer and we seriously had the best shucker known to man. I asked for his opinions and he knocked it out of the park. We just relocated to the area and are making our list for all the guests that are looking to visit. I have lived all over the country and missed my raw oysters. So thanks and see you soon! I recommend sitting at the bar if possible. We med a very nice lady who was visiting her son from North Carolina and a newlywed couple from New York in town for a wedding. They were delightful.

On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

Yikes. I think we ordered the wrong thing!!…read more My husband and I came here for lunch after kayaking next door. We ordered the fish & chips plate to share. We are from the Northeast where ordering a seafood plate of any kind is plenty enough to share with one (or more) people, but NOT this one! The portion size was shockingly small in relation to the price (or it's just not what we're used to) and was not fit for sharing. The fish was flounder, which we've never had before and wanted to try it as we are used to having cod as the fish in "fish & chips." It looked flat and dry, and tasted as such even though it seemed to be fried nicely. After several bites, we decided we didn't like it but I cant figure out if that's because we actually don't like flounder or if maybe we got a bad piece of fish since it was really sad looking?? Anyways, I'm giving two stars as I liked the fries and hushpuppies. Everything seemed to be fried well. The people sitting at the bar next to us got completely different meals and they looked much better than ours. I'd be willing to come back and give this place another try as it was very crowded when we came so I understand any place can be busy and have an off-day!
