Such a cute little unassuming place

The restrooms are porta-John's, but the place itself is so cute and unassuming. The food was good, and portions were perfect for us. The staff was friendly and fast, it's not a five-star stop, but consistent, clean, and good food.

    Another birthday dinner !!

Hands down the best seafood in town ! I'm a local here, 7th generation in fact, and we've been coming here since they opened! This week my son came home to visit. This was the one thing he wanted other than Mama's cooking, SeeWee fried seafood! He's leaving in the morning! We came for lunch. We both had delicious Lunch Seafood Platters. Our server Kerry was the best we've ever had here! The service was fast, she spaced out our apps and the food arriving perfectly !! Wonderfully shabby is how I'd call the atmosphere. Very down home and that's the kid of cooking and service you'll get here! It's the one all of us locals recommend!! Enjoy!

We love Seewee for that southern seafood dive! It's a no frills place but you'll find great food. It's way bigger than it appears with parking around, right off the highway for easy access. We've taken almost everyone when visiting us! Lunch and dinner both equally great! Usually get one of the specials, they offer great choices of friend, blackened, grilled etc. It then meets everyone's preferences. Great prices and even better desserts. All cakes/pies are made in house and you must always get dessert even if it's to go! We love having a great local place to support! Good for small or large groups! Staff is always so nice and attentive, never any issues here!

Fried oysters, greens, fried green tomatoes, red rice

A great hole in the wall, locals only type spot. You'll find as good of fried fish here as anyone in the Charleston area. Add in the classic southern menu and you've got a winner! The hushpuppies that came with the meal were a crowd pleaser and nearly everyone in our group of 11 enjoyed their meal. My fried oysters were excellent. Perfect batter, fresh, light, and just the right bite to them. They were my favorite protein of any of the tables entries I tried. The red rice was a super flavorful winner. And the greens were solid. I was wishing for more crunch on the fried green tomato's but they were still tasty. Fried shrimp were a winner. The fried flounder was maybe the least favorite dish. Still solid but not enough to come back for. On the downside, we waited nearly an hour for our table. And upon checking in with the host, it sounded like they'd forgotten about our large group and wanted to split us between a couple tables. Ultimately the food, service, and ambiance made up for it. Just be sure to stay on top of the host when you go

Late afternoon arrival and in search of a place to eat I consulted good old YELP. I'm familiar with restaurants around Bluffton and HHI but not Mt Pleasant but YELP to the rescue ! We found SeaWee and fell in hungry - glad we did! Specialty is country comfort food with plenty of fish dishes. They start you out with complimentary hush puppy's. The HP's were sweet, fried right and fresh - so good I asked for a second basket Next came the flounder platter . You can have your fish friied or blackened - I did mine blackened. Fish was delicate and well cooked- only complaint was I felt it could have had more blackening. The platter comes with 3 (yes THREE!) Sides . Now there were many choices but today I chose fried green tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and butter beans I would definitely stop in again , the place has an excellent list of southern country desserts and is a real experience to a throwback restaurant in the south

We came here for lunch on the advice of some locals and they were spot on. The place has a wonderfully authentic vibe, they are being themselves and you will leave with a far better experience than if you had chosen any of the chain competitors in the area. If you have a ride, it is worth the changeup from downtown Charleston. We look forward to returning.

Great Value. Wanted to love it ...maybe we just got the wrong items. Heading into Charleston and stopped in for lunch. It's in a cute old home. Service was great. The hush puppies were great. The oyster poboy was good but I don't like mayo on it and kind of wished there was an aoli or remoulade for it. The fried flounder sandwich was good. If I am being picky, both were on the same hoagie roll that was a little too much bread for me. I got onion rings as my side. They were good but a little under cooked.

Took a break from the birds of prey facility for lunch at the Seewee restaurant. It is a busy place but service was great and so was the fish. Didn't care for the sweet potato "fries" as they were a little thick for me. The hush puppies were very tasty. Prices were very reasonable

Food was bland and expensive. Absent minded server. In an old building needing help. Another disappointing experience.

The founder dinner was seasoned well and paired well with a little hot sauce. If you get the dinner, it comes with 3 sides. You can get 2 sides if you get the smaller option, which may be good if you don't have as big an appetite. I got the dinner because my eyes were bigger than my stomach but zero regrets because the green beans, Mac & cheese, and baked beans were so good! I would mention that the food is cooked to order so make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get your food, whether that's to go or if you stay in the restaurant. You can sit inside at any of the high top tables or outside if the weather is nice. I definitely plan to be back the next time I'm in town!

They care about the customers, and you feel it when you talk to them. They struggled during a heavy rush. Orders backed up, attention to detail slipped, and my food was delayed longer than it should have been. It's clear they need more structure and support during busy periods. Even so, the staff stayed kind, and their attitude makes you want them to succeed. They have the core elements of a great spot, good food and good people. With tighter execution during peak hours, they could turn into something special.

The roll was dry, crumbly, and stale-- like it had already given up on life. The meat was gray, mushy, and clumped together in sad, gluey piles that screamed "leftover mystery beef." The cheese? A chaotic situation. Half melted, half missing, fully pointless. The extra onions were sparse at best. There was no seasoning, no structure, no attempt at balance. One third of each half had zero meat- in fact check out the picture to see they didn't even slice the bread!!! When you pull the sandwich apart, it doesn't stretch or satisfy -- it collapses into bread shards and beef paste. Truly impressive in the worst way. A cheesesteak should be hot, indulgent, and comforting. This felt rushed, careless, and borderline passive-aggressive. I've had frozen sandwiches that showed more pride in their work. As someone from suburban Philly, if this is how you treat a cheesesteak----Hard pass. Save your money, your appetite, and your expectations.

So we went with the classic understudy, roast beef. The mozz was SO fresh and perfectly sliced. The rolls must be made on-site. Seeds, texture, chewiness, just perfect. Best roll we've had in a long time. Our main feedback would be to (please) increase their *hot sandwich offerings. Unsure why we were told a hot roast beef was impossible (first time this has ever happened) when the stations are already set up to crank out cheesesteaks; we watched 5 cheesesteaks being made while we ate in the dining room. With these quality ingredients, a hot roast beef would have put Primo over the top.

I also love the interior color used, as it is warm and relaxing. We like to sit at the booth bars, as they are just 2 tops, but give an added privacy by the design. Lola Rose features a comforting and approachable menu of big, seasonal salads, wood-fired pizzas, housemade pastas, local seafood and traditional mains. At the bar, classic favorites are served alongside creative spritzes and cocktails, local beer, and a wine list that focuses on Mediterranean and coastal American winemakers. Plus Lola Rose is the second concept from James Beard award-nominated chef Kevin Johnson and his wife Susan, who opened The Grocery in downtown Charleston in 2011. We have had the pleasure of seeing him in action and he is always approachable to the guests. We have visited Lola Rose several times and enjoyed many menu items. The rosemary focaccia is always a must order. Other great starters are the arancini, Sicilian meatballs, and our favorite is the roasted beets. Another great option to start is with a pizza, they have 9 different pizzas to choose from. Then an appropriate entree would be a pasta dish, we like the rigatoni verde and the bucatini. Note their pastas are all made in house. On our most recent visit we ordered the seasonal Softshell Crab special, and it was impressive and more delicious then expected. We appreciate that they had this item during the softie season, and this tops our list. Don't forget dessert as the budino and limencello cake are delicious sweet endings. Lola Rose makes going to downtown Charleston un-necessary, and it's location is easy to get to with plenty of parking. The service and the menu make it worth the visit, and we would recommend to all.

We were a little disappointed that the calamari wasn't available on this visit, but we still really enjoyed the arancini, which are served with a wonderful tomato dipping sauce. We've honestly never had a bad meal here. My husband tried the shrimp pasta dish this time and really enjoyed it -- it had a nice little bit of spice that added great flavor without being overpowering. Overall, the fresh pastas, pizzas, and appetizers are all great choices. They also offer a fun happy hour with discounted appetizers and drinks. Definitely a place worth stopping into, and next time we're hoping to enjoy the outside patio when the weather is a little warmer.
