We discovered this place on a morning drive to Charleston. This place has everything but especially Southern hospitality. The breakfast biscuits were as good as any I have ever had away from my family table. The country ham was our favorite. They had everything from nice casual clothing, hats and grocery items to fishing bait. The only problem with our visit was that we had never taken the time at Sewee Post before. I can never say enough or recommend SeeWee Outpost enough. It's the quaint old school vibe throughout the entire store. The deli in the back serves wonderful ready to eat food, but my favorite is the shrimp salad sandwich on white bread!! It reminds me of my grandmamas shrimp salad she made when we lived on front beach Sullivan's Island! Also the ready made take home dishes are from some of the best shops and cooks in town. Not a good place to use the bathroom. The single bathroom was occupied for 15 minutes. Was looking for a place for gas, coffee, nail clippers, and to use the bathroom (on our long road trip along the east coast). We had to make a pitstop on our drive to Charleston. Pulled into this place for gas not knowing what it was. They've got all kinds of giant sinks and tubs of soap where they ask you to wash your hands before coming in the store due to the coronavirus. Inside I found a clean bathroom. It was odd because it look like a fishing/outdoor gear kind of store but I could smell fresh bread. I stopped a young man waking out the door and asked him what he bought to eat. He said a chicken sandwich fried in peanut oil. He then described all the biscuits you could buy and I think he mentioned ham sandwiches. It does seem like all the locals come here. This is a great spot to stop for gas, a bathroom break, and refreshments either on your way in or out of Charleston, SC. They have a kitchen in the back left corner where you can get a variety of hot foods. There is a good selection of coffee drinks, snacks, and candy. The Seewee Outpost also has plenty of cool southern themed souvenirs. It is always clean and while there are always customers, I never feel like it is overcrowded. A great pit stop! read more

As you drive by it looks like a gas station, but it's so much more. This place is a full on General store with everything from groceries to outdoor clothing and everything in between. They have home made stuff in the back for food and they have my favorite dog leashes. There's a guy who makes them down at the farmers market from nautical lines. He's very talented regarding rope splicing and knots etc... I've never seen them for sale anywhere else but here. They have nice outdoor clothes including brands like Carhardt and Columbia. Sometimes I wish I lived on the other side of Mount Pleasant so I could be closer to the Sewee Outpost, it's that much fun. This place is like candy land! Literally, they sell a lot of candy! Imagine your favorite convenient store on steroids, then throw in some disc golf, add a handful of rocking chairs, a smattering of books and paintings by local artists, then some yummy fresh-made food (sandwiches, biscuits, etc) and you have the Outpost. The disc golf course is solid but you will want to load up on some bug spray before braving the woods. Hole #4 with the sand mountain is a doosey! If you're not an outdoor sports kind of person the Outpost is a place where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a homemade chicken biscuit inside at one of the tables or out on the porch. read more

Growing up, this place was in the middle of nowhere. As Mt Pleasant has grown there is much more reason to be out here and not enough places to buy. When pulling up to this place not very obvious that this place is huge and has almost everything you could possibly use. IT reminds me of one of those Pilot Gas Stations on the interstate in that it is gas and convenience and real food but unlike Pilot it is much more diverse with a real kitchen that serves good southern favorites like pimento cheese or egg salad sandwiches that look fresh, different southern/local items like jellies, honey, sauces, grits, ets. Driving south to Charleston to fly out and the wife needs to make a pit stop. There is and there isn't much around if you know what I mean. This place shows up out of nowhere, looks like a gas station but does not at the same time. When you walk in, it's like a general store barn that someone filled with all of the most interesting outdoor and low country gear and paraphernalia. We did not have time to browse the goods, just use the facility, but then my wife noticed the food counter in the back. I've seen this setup before in rural places and it's a 50/50 crap shoot as to whether its good eats or not. In Sewee's case, it is very good eats. Full disclosure, I was just about starving, but the country ham biscuits were absolutely wonderful. Some of the best I've ever had. The biscuit itself was flaky and tasty and the ham/sausage? was phenomenal. I am not actually sure what I was eating, I assume it was a type of sausage, but I savored that biscuit like it was manna from heaven. Thanks Sewee for the pleasant surprise. Every time me or someone else goes in there to buy crickets We normally would buy 50, but every time we get them we only ever get about 25 max and a few are always dead, the owner followed my moms friend who has never meet the owner before and told us not to complain and to go somewhere else if we need crickets, definitly not how u treat a customer and this is not the first time we've have problems the owner. They don't have to worry about us complaining anymore cause we won't ever come back. Most of their stuff is overpriced anyways. read more

Customer service wasn't up to par by any means. Our little girl had bought a defective toy, and the red headed girl argued with me that it was suppose to be that way. She would not let us return it or exchange it for another one. We threw it away, sad for our little one.
