Excellent deli, with wonderful sandwiches and salads. It's truly a hidden gem, and I'd be back for sure. I had a pastrami sandwich and a Cobb salad. Both were tasty. Highly recommend! read more

We found Ted's as we were looking for a light lunch. It was perfect with a variety of sandwiches. We had the pastrami and the caprese. Both were good, but my favorite thing was the potato salad. It was great. There is also a large area with lots of meats and cheeses that you could use to make your own charcuterie, and there appears to be a full butcher shop as well. read more

Great service, though a bit on the small side if you plan on having something to eat here. Meaning seating is a bit tight, but the turnover is quick. The BACON OF THE MONTH BLT SANDWICH - Featured artisanal bacon (changes each month), tomato, mixed greens & garlic aioli on a soft ciabatta roll, was amazing! Otherwise, from wine, to custom charcuterie trays, to frozen food selections, to (obviously) meat, and some fish -- come here. I need to search for a place like this close to where I live! read more

What a fabulous establishment this is! We shared the pastrami sandwich which was phenomenal with these unusual and wonderful pickled cuke slivers. Even more phenomenal was their mushroom pie. I know I would gain 20 pounds in the 2 months of living near here. Their deli cases were filled with wonderful meats and sausages, pates have never heard of, side dishes, such as potato salad and coleslaw. The former we got with our sandwich and it was really good and I'm not a potato salad person. they are in a group of retail establishment so there is private parking!! read more

Awesome local spot run by a guy who grew up working in his grandparents' deli in New Jersey. BUY HIS PASTRAMI BY THE POUND! It's reasonably priced, and Ted'll slice it fresh for you. On top of that, a portion of proceeds from his kickass Friday dinners go to local charity. Highly recommend. read more

This place is fun. From the moment you walk in the door Ted's feels like how you'd like a sandwich and butcher shop to feel. Classy, filled with all sorts of high quality meats, deli items, drinks, and even some desserts. There is a counter where you can order a variety of fresh salads and sandwiches if you are dinning in with a solid selection of choices. Indoors there is plenty of seating even on a busy day, with a cool busy downtown vibe overall. On this visit we sat outside, which is out back and could be missed if you didn't know it was there (Pro Tip!). We ordered several sandwiches and enjoyed eating on their back courtyard picnic tables. Overall, it was enjoyable experience, so we are looking forward to our next visit! Guten Appetit! read more

Overpriced for what you get. $15 for a dry, approx 5 inch sandwich and literally 2 bites (their side portion) of cold Mac and cheese. Parking was nearly impossible, though not at all the fault of the business. read more

Teds Butcherblock is a great spot for oh so many things. As the name implies- it is a butcher shop- think 6 different kinds of the best bacon you have ever had and may other high end types of meats. This is a great place to order your organic Thanksgiving Turkey! They also do sandwiches and other prespared food and it is a great wine shop! This time I stopped in for wine and I found a favorite Riesling from the Finger Lakes- looking on the winery's website this is one of two shops in the Charleston area where you can find this wine. Ted's has some unusual things. They also have a Big Green Egg where they cook amazing meat - like I said- it's a unique spot. read more

I decided to call Ted's to cater a lunch for a work event with about 25 people instead of doing the traditional pizza lunch. I was impressed by the variety of sandwiches they offered, and everything looked delicious upon pickup. Our client loved it, and the sandwiches and mac n' cheese were a huge hit. The ordering process was super easy, everything was ready on time, and the food was fresh and very well made. Highly recommend! read more

Ted's is a downtown gem! They offer a dinner service on Friday nights and we could not have been more impressed. The vibe is fun and inviting. The staff is very accommodating and professional. Great sandwich great drinks awesome selection of cheese. Try the wagyu sandwich. It yummy

Absolutely wonderful spot for lunch, especially when visiting the aquarium, Fort Sumter visitor center, or the international African American museum as this is within walking distance of all three. There are so many options to choose from, with wonderful sandwiches, salads etc. I had the barbecued pulled pork panini with a fruit salad side, which provided just the right mix of the tangy BBQ sauce and the sweet fruit salad. I even loved the organic iced tea, which was flavorful tea and required no additional sweetener. Pricing was very affordable averaging less than $20 per person, quite a value for all that was delivered. The location is a well-designed meat/cheese shop, and restaurant all wrapped into one, with comfortable seating and a very friendly staff. This was an excellent experience, and I would certainly highly recommend it. read more

This wonderful lunch spot is near the aquarium, Fort Sumter visitor center, and other museums. We decided to have lunch here between museum visits. They have salads, soups, and sandwiches. Wowzas. Lunch for 2 adults and a kid costs $50 here now-a-days. 11% tax. Will unlikely be back at these prices.

The pastrami sandwich was dry and chewy. With alot of sauce to compensate. I usually love your pastrami sandwiches. I was really bummed to have this experience at your establishment. Been going for years! To answer your question Ted. I didnt address it immediately because it was an online order. It was my lunch break and no time come back and resolve the issue. read more

Fantastic sandwhiches! Probably the best salami I've ever tasted, but everything else tasted stellar too!

We randomly chose this eatery for lunch. I had the Roast Wagyu Panini sandwich with fruit salad. It was so good. The spices, beef, and ciabatta bread came together beautifully. The staff was very accommodating, especially to my friend who was gluten intolerant. It's a great atmosphere for everyone from families to singles. Parking maybe tedious because of it's location but it's worth a try. I forgot to take pictures:-( read more

I had the Wagyu Roast Beef Sandwich with a side of Gouda Mac, and it did not disappoint. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside and the roast beef had an aioli spread on top. I didn't think I'd like it without cheese but it was great just how they make it. read more

Delicious food for a fair price. The Italian sandwich on ciabatta was fantastic, 10/10.

The only thing wrong with this place is that I'm made I haven't been here sooner! This place is amazing! Great prices! Food is so delicious! I tried the wagyu panini and Gouda Mac no complaints! I'm a picky eater on quality and everything about this- the bread, meat, blue cheese aoili, etc are sooooooooo goood. It's different, it's high quality and it's great service. Staff were super friendly. This place wasn't too crowded. And the groceries (Italian, French) meats, cheeses, pierogis, etc look so good! Ted's is my favorite butcher shop in town! They have a small market area with local products, frozen meals, and a great wine selection. The employees are super knowledgeable and always willing to help! They are quick and welcoming! This is a great place to grab a delicious lunch. There is casual seating indoor and outdoor. Some of my favorite things include the macaroni Gouda shells, pasta salad, sandwiches, and chili. They are known for having lovely Friday night sit down dinners although I have yet to attend. There is a nice restroom in the back for use. Parking can be a nightmare during lunch times but there is plenty of metered parking on the back side of the building. read more

I stopped in yesterday with a coworker for lunch. Having never been here, I have to ask myself why I've never been here. This place is a gem. I ordered the special sandwich for lunch, with a side of mac n cheese and Lowcountry Kettle chips. Root beer to wash it down. The sandwich was a spicy rotisserie chicken with jalapenos, onions, pesto, cheddar, on a ciabatta role. Each bite was perfect. This sandwich special was truly special. Taste and flavor had just enough kick but not enough to make you regret biting into it. We arrived around 1pm, and if you have flexibility to do so, do so. Getting there at peak lunch time is not advisable if you plan on sitting down to eat. They're popular and busy for good reason. read more

This is a cute place downtown, next to East Bay Deli. My friend took me here after raving about how good it was. We ate lunch. I was craving a hotdog (which I was originally planning to order at the other place we had planned to go to) and was happy that they had one on special for that day (i.e., they don't serve them everyday). I ordered a hotdog, a San Pellegrino drink from the fridge, and loaded potato salad. My friend ordered a sandwich with macaroni and cheese. The place is pretty expensive for a quick lunch, but it's reflective of the quality of the food. My hotdog was good, but not the best I've ever had. I didn't love the chili on my hotdog, but there was nothing wrong with it - just my preference. It was more of soup chili with beans and not "hotdog chili." The loaded potato salad was delicious, and it would make a great side dish at any party or dinner event. My friend's chicken and parmesan sandwich was absolutely delicious, and at the same time, it is something that could be purchased (or made) at most sandwich shops. The macaroni and cheese was also good - cheesy and creamy - but needed to be heated up a little more. All in all, I really liked this place. I don't think that I will ever go out of my way to go here again, but I would not refuse or complain about coming here if someone else wanted to take me. I say give it a shot. If you live downtown or otherwise nearby, I think it would be a great place to have meetings with some charcuterie and beer. read more

Stopped here while killing some time and hunger pains before heading to the Ft. Sumter tour nearby. Overall I like this place, but my sandwich was tough to deal with - in a literal sense. We ordered at the counter, with my choice being the wagyu beef panini. I can say I didn't read that it had mushrooms - so I had to scrape them off which is my fault. However, the beef was inedible. The gristle outnumbered beef pieces, ans I found one bite meant pulling all the beef off the sandwich- chewy and crunchy with all the gristle that ruined the sandwich totally. I liked the bleu cheese aioli on it. The sides of potato salad and cole slaw were very well done - full of flavors But the meat again ruined this for me. Cool place - staff is great and friendly read more

Ted's is a great butcher located off of East Bay Street. I haven't eaten there for a meal but have always picked up meat to grill later. I didn't give it 5 stars because honestly while the service is great, the meat never seems worth the exorbitant price you pay. They have a deli that you can order sandwiches and sides (a lot of "to go" and pickup orders) as well as the butcher where they will cut meat up for you. Always fresh, very friendly, but be prepared to drop a lot of money to buy even basic meat. read more
