Wow! Love this place. My good friend is from Brazil and I was fortunate to have her introduce me to this amazing place. So authentic! The food was delicious!!

#theskyisthelimit Food: Brazilian fresh. And however you say delicious is Portuguese. Sky burger was great. A lean cut of meat. Then throw ham, those crispy fry straws, egg, lettuce & tomatoes. Bam! Don't forget their house made mayo Verde sauce..game changer. The crinkle cut fries...hot and crispy..as they should be. As seen in the menu..fresh squeeze juices hand made to order. I got sugar cane juice...which..quite refreshing. And last but not least: the guava sweet roll. It gets served hot and gooey. Reminded me of strawberry shortcake. Service: market style. Ie order at register, sit, gets served to you. Ambiance: situated in a Brazilian market and meat/chop shop as well as bakery...shop around..bring something home. I dare you!

Gluten free! Yum

These folks are LOVELY. Well priced and delicious, this place is a hidden gem for those in the know. The most shameful thing happened when we let a couple go ahead of us in the line and darn it, they scored the last dulce con leche donut we wished for! No problem as I am sure we'll be back again soon for the pastry cream infused delights and guava goodness. The little gluten free balls are a must try!

Acai (Soft serve machine)

I stopped by this store to buy some dinner and ended up trying a combo platter and an acai bowl. I was not disappointed. This place has a small market for unique Brazilian groceries, with dry and refrigerated goods. There is also a restaurant area with seating via booths and tables. They have fresh baked goods, pastries, and menu items. I was most intrigued by the soft serve machine that claimed to have acai. You pay by the oz, similar to the frozen yogurt places, and there is an assortment or toppings or cones. It was a bit more expensive than i expected(plate of food was $28) and the acai was ~10 dollars, but it is good quality food and the people are very kind. I had trouble choosing some Items but they made recommendations. A unique spot, i recommend it to anyone to give it a try.

Service and food were great! The smoothies were a perfect cure. Can't wait to come back and try more.

Chicken pasty, famous cheese rolls, and gorgeous guava pastry for later.

What an absolute treasure to have so close to home! Incredible fresh breads, delicious sandwiches and pastries, and so much more. The staff is warm and friendly, the environment clean and organized, and the prices are fantastic! I got an incredible mortadella sandwich that was so scrumptious I ate it all in the car on the way home so I didn't get a picture. The bread was heavenly, fresh lettuce and tomatoes balanced the rich meat. It's a must! I had to get the famous cheese rolls and they are tender, fluffy, and poppable. Warm them in the oven for extra yum. I have a chicken pasty that looks incredible and a beautiful guava roll for later. I asked for an espresso with condensed milk to sweeten it and was thrilled that that was an option right at hand. Hot, fresh, and delicious. A nice after-work pick-me-up. It was my first visit but it will not be my last!

What a great find! A brazilian friend brought us here for lunch one day. We started out with coffees and some of the smaller snacks, then we got some stuff to share and I had a burger which was great with the potato stix on it. Then because he wanted us to have the more traditional experience, he ordered some pichana that was fantastic. I asked why we didn't initially see it on the lunch menu, but he said everyone just knows it's available. This is absolutely what I would suggest you order. We also shopped around the market and ended up taking home some pastries and some meat from the butcher counter. The cuts of meat were excellent and well priced... I can't wait to go back.

It serves a Brazilian supermarket with different products from Brazil and all over. I recommend the food here if you want something flavorful for lunch. We had ordered the lunch special: corn meal, rice & beans, fried beef, chicken, and it was good. The waitress was approachable and accommodating. I enjoyed our meal entirely. The place was so clean, and there are even baked pastries and breads. It is not super big inside, but it has a lot of warmth.

I absolutely looooove this place! They have an açaí soft serve machine with several toppings! I recommend the açaí with just the milk powder topping, which is a classic in Brazil. The price is based on weight, which isn't bad at all given how expensive açaí can be.

Everything was wonderful! Had the beef and also had a cheese turnover. Really enjoyed it.

Had the turnovers and green juice. Everything was wonderful! The service was excellent and the food was unique, fresh and flavorful.

This was my first time so I studied the menu ahead of time. I ordered the coxinha, pastel de Carne, bolo de cenoura, misto quente and for drink the caju, and one natural lemonade. ALL was delicious and came fast. Next time is the picanha feast...

Chao Goiano Brazilian Steak House - The MEATs!

Chao Goiano Brazilian Steak House

We visited Chao Goiano Brazilian Steakhouse and Bakery today to celebrate my father's 74th…read morebirthday. We made reservations several days in advance and even called to confirm and add another guest. Although there was a noticeable language barrier during the call, we brushed it off, hoping for a smoother experience in person. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Bruna, our waitress, who offered us the choice of two tables--one still being cleaned and one that was already clean but marked "reserved." We chose the latter, which was nicely set. At this point, we still had high hopes. We let Bruna know that this was our first time dining at the restaurant, but she did not explain how the steakhouse experience worked--no mention of service style, signal cards, pacing, or expected flow. When we asked for clarification, she brought over the head chef to help. Unfortunately, this didn't help much. Due to the language barrier, the chef simply began listing the meats available, pointing to various parts of his body to indicate items he couldn't pronounce in English. We were still left unclear on how the full dining experience would go. While we waited for the steakhouse service to begin, some of our party visited the buffet and came back thoroughly disappointed. Several dishes were missing or cold, and some trays were completely empty. To make up for the lack of side options, we were later offered plantains, yucca fries, and another item we couldn't identify due to the same language difficulties. Meanwhile, I witnessed a chef blowing his nose into a napkin right at the cook's window, fully visible to guests. He then turned away to finish but immediately resumed handling food without washing his hands. I alerted Bruna to this and to the poor state of the buffet. She informed the manager, who then became visibly upset--at us. He never approached our table or addressed the issue. Instead, he stared at us repeatedly throughout the meal, until my sister waved at him, making him quickly avert his gaze. Drinks were another issue. While Bruna made fresh pineapple juice for my sister and me (which we appreciated), the rest of the table ordered sweet tea and had to ask for sugar because it was unsweetened. My aunt and mother asked for lemons and received limes, only then learning that lemons weren't available. Eventually, the steakhouse servers began coming around with meat, but most of it was undercooked and very tough. Our entire party stopped eating fairly early. We had chosen this restaurant based on positive reviews, hoping for a memorable birthday meal, but it fell flat--especially when compared to Cowboy Brazilian Steakhouse in North Charleston. To wrap up the night, we asked to split the checks. Bruna didn't know how, so she asked the manager for help. Instead of helping her professionally, he scolded her in front of us: "Let me show you so I never have to show you again." He didn't actually explain the process--just clicked around and walked off. Bruna, to her credit, figured it out and got us our checks. Despite everything, I want to recognize Bruna for doing her best under pressure and with limited support. She was the only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing experience. Between the food quality, sanitation concerns, lack of service clarity, and unprofessional management, we won't be returning.

They have feijoada (brazillian black bean stew), feijão tropeiro (a pinto bean dish with smoked meats and cassava flour - my personal favorite when it comes to brazillian style bean dishes. This one was quite good), and other typical foods that make a meal on its own even if you didn't eat the meats. The rodízio (meat parade) was excellent. They had picanha (sirloin with a fat cap), linguica (sausage), coraçãozinho (chicken hearts - I was adventurous and I tried them. They were quite good. I was reminded of beef with mushrooms), and I can't leave out the grilled pineapple with cinnamon (that's probably the best part). Also they have beer towers (basically the Latina answer to the American pitcher of beer - you dispense your own beer into your glass and the tower holds probably about 8 mugs of beer). I don't know the cost of these because the bride and groom paid for everyone's drinks and we all had a discounted price for the rodízio. The only complaint that I have and it's really quite minor, is that the payment was not super easy. There was no one assigned to take care of the payments and it probably would have been easier to handle it at the beginning on entry, but this ain't a problem that most people would have since we were there for a special event. In general a rodízio dinner can run anywhere from $50-$75. I'm not sure of their prices but on a regular night out expect at least $50 for your evening. Marcelo was amazing as far as getting everything together and organizing it all. It was a very romantic setting with two rows of tables and light decorations. They had the stereo available so the couple was able to have their own wedding playlist.

There was not one person having a convo in English. Cool! Now, If you've never been to a market in a tropical country you might not like it when you first walk in. If you have, this place will bring back memories. I'll explain in a bit. For starters, you'll need to have your translator app ready, unless you speak Portuguese. Everything from the items on the shelves to the items in the case scream "Brazil." But the thing that I like the most about it is that it's pretty warm in here. It's 79° outside but the AC is not on. And this is why I made My comment about how you might not like it. To me, this really adds to the local feel. While I don't mind it at all, there will be many who will be upset by the fact that it's not cold in here. I said "cold," not temperate. Since moving to the south, and having been married to a Memphian, it's my observation that many people want to walk into a place and be blasted by 65° air. A short while after that they're wearing a sweatshirt. ‍ In a tropical country, heat and warmth are part of the day to day. You get used to it. It's just the way it is. But it comes along with so many other wonderful things that it doesn't really matter all that much. That's my perspective on visiting here. I'm sure that on the hotter days they put the AC on. Clearly 79° doesn't do it. It beings me back to trips to the DR, Puerto Rico and other hot places. I like it. It adds to the ambience. I would NEVER take points away from a place like this for not putting on the AC. In fact, I'd add points. There are so few places that are so truly authentic that you simply must come here and try it.

Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse - Food Review 4.6 / 5…read moreStars If you're looking for an authentic Brazilian steakhouse experience in Charleston, Galpão Gaucho delivers a premium, meat-forward dining experience that leans heavily into quality, variety, and attentive service. The Experience From the moment you sit down, the pace is noticeable--in a good way. Service is fast and efficient, with gauchos consistently rotating through the dining room offering a wide selection of fire-roasted meats. The rhythm of service keeps your plate full without feeling rushed, which is exactly what you want in a traditional Brazilian steakhouse setting. Food Quality & Selection The highlight here is undeniably the extensive variety of meats. From classic cuts like picanha to a range of seasoned beef, chicken, and pork options, there's no shortage of choices. Each cut is carved tableside and served fresh off the skewer, giving you that authentic churrascaria feel. The salad and vegetable bar is impressively large, offering everything from fresh greens and roasted vegetables to cheeses and cold cuts. It's not just filler--it's actually well-stocked and thoughtfully prepared, making it easy to balance out the heavier meat options (if you have the discipline). What Stands Out Fast, continuous service - you're never waiting long for the next cut Wide variety of meats - something for every preference Large, well-rounded salad bar - more than just an afterthought Attentive staff - consistent with what you'd expect from a high-end Brazilian steakhouse Where It Falls Short Salt level can be a bit heavy on some meats, which may not suit everyone Price point (~$85 per person) puts it firmly in the premium dining category Parking is limited, though nearby parking decks make it manageable with a short walk Final Verdict Galpão Gaucho is a solid choice for a high-end dining experience in Charleston, especially if you're going in hungry and want to indulge. While the seasoning can occasionally lean too salty and the price isn't light, the overall experience--driven by quality meats, variety, and strong service--makes it worth it for a special occasion or a serious night out. Best for: Date nights, celebrations, business dinners, or anyone wanting a true Brazilian steakhouse experience without compromise.

It was my first time ever trying Brazilian food, so I was a little apprehensive at first- but yelping has taught me to be adventurous and leave my comfort zone. I also like to support any food truck that comes to my area because we are pretty far from downtown and the usual food truck haunts. The Brazilianuts food truck arrived on time and was set up when I got there. I knew what the menu would be from their Facebook page, and they are good about posting where they will be and what they will be serving. I had a few questions for the lady operating the truck, but she was super nice and answered them all. You can tell the owners put a lot of love into their food. I ordered the vegetarian tapioca tray ($8), which came with one tapioca, viniagrette salad, and yucca fries. The veggie tapioca contained sweet potato, chayote, squash, and black eyed peas and was cooked in palm oil. I also got a small container of malagueta sauce that came with my meal. The veggie tapioca was good- it reminded me of a Brazilian version of a taco. You can pick it up and eat with your hands, or eat with a fork if that's your thing. It was packed with veggies. The viniagrette salad is more like a little cup of chopped up veggies than a salad. I really wasn't sure what to do with it- do I eat it on my own? Do I top the tapioca with it? I shrugged and put it in my fridge at home. The yuca fries and the malagueta sauce were the stars of the show. The lady told me the sauce was spicy, but I really didn't find it all that spicy at all. Honestly, I thought the tapioca was a little bland, so I dumped the sauce inside and wished I had more malagueta sauce for my fries (and maybe a little more for my tapioca). If you want to try Brazilian food, this truck is a solid option. If the truck comes back to my area, I would probably try it again, even if it's just for the yucca fries and the malagueta sauce. I don't know of anywhere else in Charleston to get this kind of food, so kudos to Brazilianuts for bringing a new cuisine to the area!
