Chips and salsa
Kimberly T.

This was our first visit here and it won't be our last! My mom and I both had the fish taco combo plate. The tacos were hot and fresh, beans were delicious and the rice was fluffy. I'll admit there was something we didn't like about the salsa, but that didn't stop me from eating quite a bit of it and taking the rest home to try to alter to my specific tastes. The chips were homemade and extra crispy. Sodas do come in bottles, but we were offered a glass with ice. They serve beer in bottles, but we didnt look at the choices. The lady and gentleman working there were friendly and very helpful, answering any questions we had about the menu. Definitely worth checking out!

Excellent hole in the wall restaurant for a Mexican fix, especially the shrimp and fish tacos! This place is unassuming and doesn't immediately catch your eye when driving down Dorchester, but don't let that stop you! We went for dinner on a Friday night and it wasn't very busy so we sat immediately. The restaurant is clean and intimate, but has plenty of seating! We ordered the guac and each ordered a shrimp and fish taco. The guacamole was so good, and the chips were super tasty- I'm pretty sure they're made in house! The appetizer was a hefty size, but we still managed to finish! The shrimp and fish tacos were both fried and they were stuffed full of seafood deliciousness on fresh house made corn tortillas. They even came with this super unique grilled peppers that was apparently imported from California- they get a little spicy the more you eat, but they sure are good! They don't have any liquor, so no margs. But they do have a variety of Jarritos flavors and some beer to enjoy. The owners were there the night we ate and the wife took care of us and was super friendly! The food came out quickly and was really fresh also. Side note- we ended up having some car trouble while we were trying to leave. Both of the owners came out to assist us when they saw we were struggling and literally got on their hands and knees to help us. Not only does this place have great food, they have some really great folks running it!!

Thanks to a friend's recommendation, we went to Palomar for lunch and it definitely lives up to the hype! The space is not fancy, but it's clean and we were able to eat in. They have you choose a seat and they take the order from the table. At my table, we started with chips and salsa and then we all ordered tacos. Some had the shrimp taco combo, others the fish and some of us had the mixed combo-1 fish, 1 shrimp with rice and beans. And...the most amazing tasting grilled pepper I've ever had. The tacos were loaded and the fish and shrimp were lightly fried . The food was full of flavor and the portion sizes were excellent. I don't think anyone was able to finish their whole plate, but we sure wanted to! I would highly recommend trying out Palomar if you have not yet!

It's been over an hour and I'm still soooo full. The food was phenomenal. The service was amazing. Food was out fast. Blanca was so kind and attentive. We all ordered fish tacos. I got the platter so it came with rice and beans. It was all delicious. The guacamole was huge, in my opinion, and we couldn't finish all of it because we were so stuffed. Kiddo had to use the bathroom and it was super clean and smelled really good. Highly recommend!!!!

Cute restaurant with super friendly and attentive service, felt right at home on our first visit! Tacos fried to perfection. Fresh toppings, they used cabbage instead of the usual lettuce, that's awesome! SoCal girl here and I miss cabbage on my Mexican food. Their beans are really flavorful and delish. The salsa was tasty but I really wanted it to burn, I just needed a more heat, I'm weird like that. The fries took care of my craving, but the queso on them seemed like the only thing not homemade? Generous portions and a fair price point. I will be back to try other things. The ceviche and fish tacos look amazing! Great addition to the food scene and on our way to the base. Win-win!

I had such a wonderful dinner here with my parents. The food here is so tasty and fresh! Beyond the fish tacos, I loved the pineapple aqua fresca and the side of beans!!!! While the food was super tasty, the true treasure is the owners. Bianca and her husband are warm, inviting, and care a lot about their business. They have created an atmosphere that feels a lot like classic southern hospitality with a cali twist. I will definitely be returning when I come home to visit my parents again.

So yummy! Small, clean little restaurant on Dorchester not far from AF base and NC Coliseum. I was immediately greeted when I walked in. Place seats about 30 so I decided to eat in. I ordered fish taco combo. Tacos were stuffed so full I could barely hold with two hands. Stuffed with strips of delicious fish, cabbage and onions. Refried beans were smothered with cheese. Rice had bits of vegetables with a mild flavor. Pepper imported from CA was amazing with lite spices and not hot at all. As I was leaving, I noticed another table had shrimp which will be on my list to try next time. I left stuffed from delicious food! A must try if you love tacos!

Had to check out the fish taco I kept seeing and hearing about. It's a very small restaurant with about 10 tables. It was very clean and the service was great! The taco came with a pepper that they have delivered from California. I'll definitely be back to try more than a taco.

I saw the post and courier article about this place and knew I had to go! It definitely lived up to the hype. Free parking, fast service, and amazing food! Prices were super reasonable. You must order the fish tacos of course! Fried to perfection

I can never eat a fish taco anywhere else forever. Just do yourself a favor and go. And, cut up the grilled pepper on the side and put it in the taco, trust me.

We ordered in Spanish (the best we could) and everything turned out well, but the menu is in both English and Spanish so you could just point to the things you want. I had the enchiladas which were amazing, highly recommend. Also ask for a flavored water (agua fresca), they had pineapple, cucumber and lime, and tamarin. The pineapple water (agua fresca de piña) was so good! This place is a diamond in the rough. FINALLY; delicious, fresh and truly authentic Mexican dishes!! For once everyone, wife, toddlers, teenage son, mother in law and I unanimously agreed, we're so delighted with this place that we have made it our go-to weekend breakfast spot. Service is super friendly, portions are generous, prices are fair. We hope this place keeps the great quality of the food for years to come. Congratulations to the chef, cooks and staff, all of you succeeded in making us feel at home.

First off, the customer service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated from the moment we walked in. You don't always get that kind of attention these days, so it really stood out. The restaurant itself was spotless, well-kept, and had a great vibe. You can tell they take pride in the place. Now let's talk about the food -- because this is where they really shine. We started with the empanadas, which were absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Peruvian chicken, served with fries and rice, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired incredibly well with their signature sauces -- seriously, those sauces take everything to another level. Even the salad was fresh and tasty, which says a lot because that's usually an afterthought at most places. On top of that, they've got a great selection of sodas and other drinks, making it a perfect stop for a casual lunch. Bottom line: An unexpected gem with amazing food, top-tier service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. **Highly recommend -- 5 stars, 3 thumbs up from us.
