The pollo Loko qeruvian cuisine

They are so horrible my god I can't even begin.the service was ok but the server was so horrible they messed up my order and gaslit my entire family mind you we all heard me say dark meat they defiantly white washed it it was not cheap And the food was horrible, the selection wasn't good the ambiance was horrible it was Ether loud music or completely silent. Don't trust the sign and go somewhat else chipotle was more authentic

Perfect for lunch.

One of the best kept secrets and lunch menus in North Charleston: POLLO LOKO, serving their authentic Peruvian style chicken and the amazing BANDEJA TIPICA (rotisserie chicken, beef, sausage, egg, yuca, fried plantains, rice, beans and avocado). For breakfast, lunch or dinner, come hungry and leave happy!

Lomo Salteado, its carne asada with onions and sone vegetables in a bed of fries, served with yellow rice and beans.

Looking for that hole in the wall, good food. Pollo Loko is the place. The menu it's a mixture of Mexican, Peruvian, Latin America cuisine. No reservations needed, just enter, look at the menu, order and sit down and they will bring you the order. Very approachable staff and always trying to make sure your good. We LOVE the pollo/ chicken a la brasa, Lomo Salteado, Tacos al Pastor, fried Plantains. Our family really enjoys it,

Food

Awesome service with good food was my experience. The plantains were outstanding and the chicken wuesadilla totally delicious & legit.

Authentic Peruvian cuisine!! So delicious. It has been such a relief to find a restaurant like this in the midst of the seemingly endless shrimp and grits dishes in Charleston. The staff is very friendly and really takes great care in preparing the dishes. It takes about 20-30 min for a dish to be prepared, but I prefer that over fast food. It's your first time there. What should you get, you ask? Two words. Bandeja Paisa. Imagine this all in one dish: rice, beans, avocado, sausage, chicken, an egg, plantains, and beef. Amazing, right? And also do yourself a favor and order a drink of horchata! Just wow.

It's a bit of a drive to get there from downtown or Mt Pleasant but oh my god, it is entirely worth it. There was just one person running the entire front of the restaurant, waiting every table, bringing out all of the food, and handling the checks. She was fantastic and the service was great. We ordered in Spanish (the best we could) and everything turned out well, but the menu is in both English and Spanish so you could just point to the things you want. I had the enchiladas which were amazing, highly recommend. Also ask for a flavored water (agua fresca), they had pineapple, cucumber and lime, and tamarin. The pineapple water (agua fresca de piña) was so good! This place is a diamond in the rough. It doesn't look like much on the outside but don't judge a book by its cover, it's the best Mexican restaurant in Charleston!

On our way to the airport one weekend, we saw the sign for what appeared to be a new restaurant in town, the family was hungry and we decided to give it a shot. Not expecting much, we ordered some authentic Mexican dishes: Lamb Barbacoa. Chilaquiles, Enchiladas and Horchata and Cucumber waters.... boy, were we so pleasantly surprised!!!!! FINALLY; delicious, fresh and truly authentic Mexican dishes!! For once everyone, wife, toddlers, teenage son, mother in law and I unanimously agreed, we're so delighted with this place that we have made it our go-to weekend breakfast spot. Service is super friendly, portions are generous, prices are fair. We hope this place keeps the great quality of the food for years to come. Congratulations to the chef, cooks and staff, all of you succeeded in making us feel at home.

We shopped and shopped and worked up an appetite. We walked into the tiny little restaurant and I immediately went onto my yelp app. The menu is NOT in English and I had no idea what I wanted so I used pictures as some sort of a guideline lol. My husband ordered enchiladas and we agreed, per usual that we would split everything. I ordered huarache and then last minute we decided to do an order of the plantains, (only one not pictures) sorry y'all they were delicious!!! The only flaw I saw was the guy in back, guessing owner, pretty much ran the entire show, which is badass, however I wished he wore gloves!! And then I almost ate both foil and wax paper from scraping the plastic to the bottom, it was worth it. We love finding authentic little places like this, they started with a food struck and now have this little hole in the wall place that packs a powerful punch! Oh and their green hot sauce that came in the soufflé cup was amazing! If not for my son, I would have drenched my food in it! So good! We would definitely come back, but I'd research the menu a little more before coming, so I can figure out what I want beforehand.

My friend and I arrived here for lunch and were seated right away. Our waitress was a no-nonsense, sassy young lady who I very much appreciated. She made me laugh and gave great recommendations. She commented that the corn tortillas are oddly sweet and not traditionally made so something to keep in mind if you're particular about your corn tortillas. I thought the food was solid. I had ordered three tacos - no sides - with two beef and one barbacoa. I thought it was very reasonably priced, tasty, and quick. We were able to get in and out easily enough and it was a great lunch!

That would be difficult considering I am completely bald and was wearing a hat. It only got worse from there. When the manager came over, her response was a casual, "It happens." No genuine apology. No concern. No accountability. The waiter then doubled down by telling me I would have never found the hair if I had not mixed my food together. Imagine blaming the customer for discovering a contamination issue in their meal. Finding a hair in your food is disgusting. Being insulted and blamed for it is unacceptable. The complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service was shocking. If this is how they handle food quality issues, I can only wonder what happens behind the scenes. Save your money and your appetite. I will never return.
