    The pollo Loko qeruvian cuisine

They are so horrible my god I can't even begin.the service was ok but the server was so horrible they messed up my order and gaslit my entire family mind you we all heard me say dark meat they defiantly white washed it it was not cheap And the food was horrible, the selection wasn't good the ambiance was horrible it was Ether loud music or completely silent. Don't trust the sign and go somewhat else chipotle was more authentic

    Perfect for lunch.

One of the best kept secrets and lunch menus in North Charleston: POLLO LOKO, serving their authentic Peruvian style chicken and the amazing BANDEJA TIPICA (rotisserie chicken, beef, sausage, egg, yuca, fried plantains, rice, beans and avocado). For breakfast, lunch or dinner, come hungry and leave happy!

Lomo Salteado, its carne asada with onions and sone vegetables in a bed of fries, served with yellow rice and beans.

Looking for that hole in the wall, good food. Pollo Loko is the place. The menu it's a mixture of Mexican, Peruvian, Latin America cuisine. No reservations needed, just enter, look at the menu, order and sit down and they will bring you the order. Very approachable staff and always trying to make sure your good. We LOVE the pollo/ chicken a la brasa, Lomo Salteado, Tacos al Pastor, fried Plantains. Our family really enjoys it,

Awesome service with good food was my experience. The plantains were outstanding and the chicken wuesadilla totally delicious & legit.

Authentic Peruvian cuisine!! So delicious. It has been such a relief to find a restaurant like this in the midst of the seemingly endless shrimp and grits dishes in Charleston. The staff is very friendly and really takes great care in preparing the dishes. It takes about 20-30 min for a dish to be prepared, but I prefer that over fast food. It's your first time there. What should you get, you ask? Two words. Bandeja Paisa. Imagine this all in one dish: rice, beans, avocado, sausage, chicken, an egg, plantains, and beef. Amazing, right? And also do yourself a favor and order a drink of horchata! Just wow.

Everything was so good, and the portions large enough to feed two in some cases, we had to take what was left home. Also - fine dining or not - I've never been serenaded by a chef before. The chef has such passion for his country and culture and all of it comes out during your experience. He describes every plate in detail - not only what you're eating, but the historical significance behind it. The menu is changed roughly every three months, so what I had will most likely not be the same as you have by the time you read this. However, the mainstays such as ceviche will be available, and you will not be disappointed. I asked for some hot sauce he had lined up for us as an option and while hot, I appreciated the taste behind it. Most spicy sauces can just be HEAT ALL CAPS with little substance but this was different. Located in a cute, cozy nook upstairs at Port of Call, this ambiance and intimate setting makes it an ideal place not just for a date but for a nice night out, meeting strangers and immersing yourself in another culture being presented to you with a passion which makes you even more appreciative of each passing plate.

I don't recall the Mt P one having lomo saltado or empanadas so I'm looking forward to trying more of the espansive menu here. I will say the only thing that bothered me was that the menu inside was on rotating screens. They took forever to go to the next screen so we used the QR code to look at the menu online. After we placed out order, I noticed that there were options on the menu screen that were not listed online and I maybe would have tried one of those options. Not a big deal, but definitely an annoyance when the menus don't match. For entrees we got the mostrito which offers so much food. You get a 1/4 chicken, fried rice, fries, and coleslaw. My entree was Arroz Chaufa with chicken which is less of a diverse dish being that it's all the same, but it's so good. I got mine with chicken in it and added some sauces because I love both of them. The spicy one is best but they are both delicious. It was a huge portion so I managed to save some of it for later and it heated up great too.

Price was outstanding, before tip the meal and drinks that fed four and had leftovers was around $50. Healthier that fast food for sure. Food was done quickly, inside has a few tables, typical strip mall restaurant interior. My kids said they wanted to come back for more! J.Ja
