Bistec a La Mexicana Verde

Good love it and hand made tortillas that make it even better. Including fast service. Clean and welcoming when you walk in.

It's been REALLY hard for us to find a decent or good authentic taco place around here. We just wanted to find one where they weren't afraid to use salt or spice. We came here during lunch and hubby got one of their daily lunch specials, an enchilada and tamale with rice and beans. I had to try their traditional tacos, asada, pastor and lengua. We also got the street corn which was really tasty snd packed with flavor. I enjoyed my tacos more than any other place I've been. I asked for some salsa verde and personally I do not think it was homemade, definitely from a jar. My server was so nice and attentive, his colleagues were also helpful in taking plates ways when we finished. I do think I'll come back again because everything tasted good, flavorful and the service was nice.

Sopes & Horchata

Server was friendly and very helpful. Horchata was tasty but not the best I've had. The Sopes were nicely made and plenty of meat! Salsa was yummy with plenty spice. I'd try again if I was in the area. Worth a stop in.

Really good Mexican food, loved the taste and atmosphere of the place. Great family place to go to and if you're feeling some Mexican food I definitely recommend recommend this spot!

Pork sope and cabeza and lengua tacos. The sope is heavenly!

Tiki Taco, you have some solid competition for the best, most authentic Mexican food in the area! This little place tucked next door to Momo is like stepping into abuelita's kitchen. The menu is small and everything is freshly prepared and perfectly seasoned and cooked. I had cabeza and lengua tacos, and the tongue was so tender and juicy, like it had been braised all day. I had a pork sope and it was a dream: crisp, light, delicately sweet and piled high with seasoned meat, onions, cilantro, and cotija. I want five more! I had read about the not-to-be-missed agua fresca, so asked what the agua fresca of the day was and the waitress said, "Horchata." I must have looked confused because she said, "Watermelon." Now we're talking! I got a big mug of it and it was super-refreshing, especially after I took a bite of the grilled pepper. It's always so hot but so delicious I can't resist. Others in my party got chicken and steak tacos and they were all pleased. The red sauce is HOT but has an amazing flavor so give it a taste. Service was a bit spotty, but it was busy at lunchtime with only one waitress and a manager, both of whom were very friendly, and we were the only gringos in the place, which to me speaks to the authenticity of the food. It was a bit warm inside, as the AC seemed to have a hard time competing with the centralized open grill, but it's the South in summer, so... I am thrilled to have some amazing Mexican food this close to home and anticipate becoming a regular here, especially since they do take-out. A dozen sopes, please! See you soon!

I was a little hesitant based on the mixed reviews but since this is so close to my house, I decided to give a try. I am so glad I did. Truly authentic Mexican food not Tex Amex. Pollo Fajitas we're fantastic as were the sauces. They gave Molcajete which I will try next time. Will be back.

If you want to have authentic Mexican food, you have to come to La Mixteca. It's a full experience. It's not only beautifully set up with hand made wooden chairs but the food is amazing! The service is very friendly . Every dish is made with fresh ingredients with recipes from Mexico. The owners are from Oaxaca, one of Mexico's most gastronomically and culturally rich states. As a picky Mexican eater, I definitely give this place 5 stars.

Really delicious Fajita included with rice, beans, and their homemade salad.

Once we walked in, we were quickly taken to our table where we ordered our drinks and food. The place reminded me a lot of the movie coco because of the Alebrijes design on the chairs. The dishes and mugs are so cute I wish I could take one (obviously I can't). Our waitress was super kind and friendly. The food was ssooooo good, big plate of food too. Definitely coming back and inviting friends too

Al pastor burrito was delicious.

I just moved here from one of the most diverse cities in California and this food reminds me of home.. food is authentic, staff is friendly, it's authentic real traditional Mexican food. If you're coming in with the mindset of Tex-Mex then you've come to the wrong place. Nonetheless the food was incredible and came out within 10 minutes. I will be coming back here 100%

Cup of Diets coke $2.99 Cup of sprite $4.25 LMFAOOOOOO .

ZERO STARS ! Beware this place will try and scam you ! Food was basic as fuck ! The chips were thick and gross. This is my receipt! Lmfao how is the price of Diet Coke and sprite different like this!?????!!!? And it was like 4 sips !!! cup filled to top with ice. Asked to add sour cream and cheese to the tacos it was $4 for the 4 sprinkles I would have taken a picture if I knew the check would look like this!!!! But the sour cream cost only $.50 lol what the helllll . It's like she was making the shit up as she typed it in. SCAMMERS .

Well just moved to Moncks Corner and was looking for a good Mexican Restaurant rather than going to Summerville. Boy were we surprised when we got to the location. A real dive and was really disappointed in the ratings on Yelp. I guess I'm use to the American Mexican restaurants that serve your burritos and taco salads. The order of chips were so hard I had to stop eating them as I was afraid I'd break a tooth! Seriously! The food I ordered was ok but I will say I have never had such a tough slab of chicken! My husband got steak and he doesn't recommend as it was grisly! As for the service the young lady was adequate but paid attention to the table of men and should be taking time doing something of value for the business. I'd probably fire her but I'm sure she's related. As for the customers, loud and obnoxious! One table of workers were coughing constantly. I guess it's safe to say, won't be returning as I felt it was too expensive too. Oh, don't use a credit card as they charge for that! I just deducted from her tip! You decide if you want to go to this KITCHEN but my advice is stay far away!

They have a take-out menu or option to dine-in. As soon as we sat down, they brought homemade chips and salsa which I enjoyed but not too much to fill up before the meal. For drinks they are serve margaritas, beers, teas..I tried the agua fresca hibiscus and my fiancé tried the horchata, both delicious! The menu is simple but packs lots of flavors and proteins. I constantly seek out elote so you know I had to order theirs! I like that they roasted the corn, provided a more robust flavor and the cheese topping I could dip anything with that..was about to lick the plate but stopped myself haha my fiancé got 3 variations of tacos, the flavors were good. They brought out some bottles salsa verde and another kind of hot sauce salsa. I liked their options for tamales, I got mole chicken and another kind of chicken..they're more filling than they look so left with our belly's full and spirits lifted. Tierra Caliente will be on our rotation now, wonderful staff and good food.

The banderita burrito got rave reviews, and I haven't had my chile poblano yet because I filled up on chips, but it looks amazing! Great variety too, and they've got plenty of kid-friendly options which made it super easy for our group. We came in with a party of 10 and everything ran smoothly. The staff was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being overwhelming. Food came out fast, hot, and fresh. You can tell they use good quality ingredients, especially the vegetables. Portions are generous, especially for dinner, so you're definitely getting your money's worth. The vibe is casual, relaxed, and very family-friendly. The restaurant has maybe 10 tables in it but somehow the server will be too busy to check on you even if you're the only 5 people in the place. Additionally, they will stand next to your table and wait until you've decided what to eat even if it takes you 15 minutes. Its weird. When you get your food (and if you ordered the tacos) prepare to play find the rotten meat. I ordered one of each type of taco and one of them was filled with a meat that was going bad. Disappointing because I love tacos. But don't worry! If you didn't get the tacos, maybe you lucked into getting something that comes with rice and beans. Honestly, these are a staple of any Mexican restaurant and you'd think they would make sure they're bringing a good support cast for the main dish. Well, you thought wrong. The rice and beans were cold. The rice was bland and the beans tasted like they had been first plated a week ago and then mixed with water to remoisturize them. Again, DO NOT EAT HERE. I don't know if they started off good and it's slowly declined; the owners were kidnapped and the people there are maintaining some kind of cover story; or they just don't give a shit.
