I was very disappointed in the food, I have heard it is under new management. Greens didn't taste fully cooked, meatloaf had a good flavor but seemed a little dry tasting, cornbread seemed too moist. I use to praise Bevricks to others. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly and made you fill like home. Our waitress checked on us and made sure we had what we needed. Also the atmosphere seemed different, the restaurant is very clean, inviting, new view on the pond/lake. Today 06/17/26 the food was the main disappointment. Yelpers, you never steer me wrong! We were driving from florida to Atlanta and wanted to stop for lunch. We try and avoid the typical fast food exits. Bevricks popped up and sounded interesting. Large dining room with a pond/water view. The wait staff was great. They have a large menu and also a Buffett. As we were kind of in a hurry we opted for the buffet. Lots of southern food, which I don't get much of living in the northeast. Man was it good. I started with mashed potatoes, gravy fried chicken, green beans and collards. Oh and a hush puppy. The chicken was moist and the vegetables were seasoned perfectly. I also tried the mac and cheese. It was also very good. Peach cobbler with vanilla icecream for dessert. My wife and I really enjoyed our first visit. We went for Friday lunch and both had the buffet. My wife loved the large number of selections on the salad bar, along with the fried shrimp, turnip greens and green beans. I chowed down on the fried fish, shrimp, fried chicken, cheese grits and mashed potatoes and gravy. I tried the peach cobbler and soft serve vanilla icecream for dessert. Everything was top notch, fresh, hot, and the service was excellent. We thought the $14 per person cost was excellent with all the variety of foods available. Special shout out for the tremendous fried shrimp! We will most definitely go back. The dinning area was huge with a mixture of tables with chairs and booths. I had the shrimp quesadilla appetizer for my main, my husband had the country buffet, and my 16yo son the island chicken ( teriyaki chicken with pineapple) . All of us were satisfied and said or respective food was great. The portions were generous. Must have been a 1/2 lb of cheese on my quesadilla but is was beautifully golden crispy on the outside. This is a family establishment with a wide variety of options so I think everyone could find something they like. Where to start? Just simply put, AWESOME! Buffet was superb. All fresh. Choice of three proteins, 4 veggies, 3 starches, excellent corn bread. Brown gravies delish! Fresh salad bar with sooooo many options. AND...home made peach cobbler with a soft serve ice cream machine. Staff was super friendly and very attentive. I'd give em 10 stars if I could. Country cooking is very tasty. They have a buffet which I didn't get but I did order 2 pieces of fried delicious chicken. I ordered the chopped steak with grilled onions and mashed potatoes with gravy. Large portions and everything was outstanding. I loved the staff also. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The manager/owner was all over. I ordered a cocktail while waiting for my takeout. The bartender and waitress were extremely polite and nice last Sunday. Great job read more

For out of town peeps, like myself, the hostess area was lacking we were sat without any menu or instructions. Someone came by a few minutes in and told us we could just go get the buffet is that's what we wanted and got our drink orders. Food selection was limited and very mediocre. This place is in the middle of nowhere. It must be the go to for good food. My steak was cooked perfectly and I have not a complaint. My friend said his beans tasted like canned and not even like they tried to step it up. We didn't get the salad bar but several customers did. read more

This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were very disappointed. First off we were not greeted when we walked in and older lady and 2 younger girls just stared at us for about a good minute before we asked if we could be seated the older lady processed to say na we will sit you very rudely. She hands a menu to one of the girls who sits us in the bar area. She throws our menus on the counter says absolutely nothing to us and walks away. Then we meet the 2 lady's running the bar area who were completely a ray of sunshine and apologized repeatedly about the situation with the hostess staff( if you can call it that). We chatted with them for a few but decided to leave and go somewhere else bc unfortunately the first impression this time really made a huge difference in how we felt. We will definitely try it again on another day only because of the 2 lady's at the bar. They hostess area really needs improvement because they really are the face of the restaurant and this time it changed our view on this place. read more

We dined at Bevricks on Sunday while driving back to Chicago. At first we were disappointed to discover that all they had available was the buffet due to staffing issues, but since we were hungry and the buffet had a zero wait time, it all worked out. My eight year old was pouty at first (because she wanted pasta), but she was very happy with her meal and was even happier when she discovered the ice cream machine. The food was good, but honestly, as weird as this may seem, my five stars are mostly for the staff and other CUSTOMERS!!! Now, we were quite obviously here with the after church crowd, but I have never been to a restaurant where EVERYONE is so polite! It was incredible and made the rest of my day so much better! Bevrick's catered our wedding on June 8th and our rehearsal dinner on June 7th. From BBQ at our rehearsal to the Mexican for our reception, the food was the best I've ever had, especially at a wedding. Everyone in attendance at both events raved about the food. The chicken quarters, chicken breasts, and pulled pork for the rehearsal were all so tender and juicy, and the mac and cheese, collards, and sweet potato casserole were raved about by our guests for days. The Mexican food for the reception was amazing as well. From the tender, perfectly seasoned carne asada to the juicy shredded chicken to the beans and rice - we could not have asked or dreamed of a more delicious meal. The salsa, pico, queso, and guacamole were both fresh and authentic. For our "cocktail hour" we did a nacho bar that was hands down the most elaborate and delicious nacho bar we have had, and all of this is coming from a woman who grew up eating authentic Mexican food in San Diego, CA on a weekly basis. Our desire was that our guests would experience our first two dates together, and Bevrick's made that such a special reality. Additionally, the staff was phenomenal, they took great care to make sure all the food was amazing, and at the same time made sure all of our guests and my husband and I were taken care of throughout each of the meals. We even had several guests with dietary restrictions and they made sure to meet those, and those guests also raved about how nice it was to have their restrictions met at a wedding instead of having to eat beforehand or afterward. Wow! Good stuff! We thought about getting the buffet and it didn't look appealing. We opted to order from the menu and what a good choice. Junkyard burger with fries was excellent! It has a texture that just melts in your mouth and loaded with flavor. Crab cakes with broccoli and chips. The cakes were small and before I said anything, the waitress took care of it. She had them make me an extra one. The home made chips were nice and crisp. Broccoli wasn't over cooked. Fried green tomatoes were the best I've had in a while. Thick cut with a very crispy exterior. The short answer: Food was hot and fresh but grossly over cooked and lacked quality. Service was a true delight. Workers were attentive and friendly. Environment was clean and friendly. Price was good. (Family of 5-2 adults,3 kids ate for $50) The long answer: Good: Service was incredible. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful as we had a child who really had lost her appetite and she didn't charge us a buffet since she had no more than two bites. We never asked the waitress for a thing. She was very attentive and our glasses never empty. The hostess and workers there were very friendly. Great eye contact and were eager to help when we asked questions. The place was clean and environmentally warm. A great beginning for a restaurant. Overall the service was 5 stars. The facility was 3.5. Bad: Food was less than mediocre. It was Friday night and the all you can eat seafood was pretty much wholesale food cooked per packing instructions. The boiled shrimp was over cooked as well as the corn and sausage with it. The fried fish had skin on it. Unless it's salmon, this Arkansan doesn't eat it with its skin on. We eat fried catfish all the time back home and we know when it's over cooked, breaded incorrectly and salted poorly. Ok, you get the point with the fish. There were other items on the buffet, that of which did not include chicken. If you have a non seafood eater in your party, Friday night is not a night you want to go. The positive side to the food was the buffet was kept hot and fresh. We did not try ordering from the menu but should have as previous reviews have mentioned. As for this visit, my recommendation is to steer clear of the buffet and order from the menu. read more

Bevricks is a good solid country cooking restaurant housed in an old Western Sizzlin' right off I-16 in Metter, GA and you know what they say "It's better in Metter!". This holds true for Bevricks as it is one of the better country cooking restaurants and buffets out there. Traveling from Charleston to Middle Georgia quite often we like to stop by Bevricks for lunch. They have a nice sized buffet full of southern food and they also have a menu that you can order off of if you aren't in the mood to gorge yourself. I've had both the buffet and ordered of the menu and have never been disappointed. My last visit we weren't real hungry so we split the Country Fried Steak off the menu; that thing was so big that even with 2 of us we had leftover. The steak was cooked just right; crispy breading on the outside with juicy steak on the inside, served up with a heaping of mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The service here too has always been great. The ladies that we have had serve us have always been very polite and attentive to our needs. read more
