Staff: Host was courteous and helpful. She even asked where would we like to sit. Nice. Our waitress disappeared oddly but we were very fortunate that another quickly stepped in and was very helpful. Anna gave us some brief detail about the menu such as what's in Corn Maque Choux and made a suggestion about which cocktail was for dessert. Another big plus (especially here in the Boro) is the manager visited every table. Big points for all three minus the one that was supposed to be our waitress. Ambiance/Decor: It's a diner so it's a bit loud. But it was comfortable, this is Statesboro and I was still in my gym clothes so it was enjoyable. Cute bar. But I do wish for more noise softening. Food n drink: Nice cocktail list and robust for a small place. Grasshopper cocktail was good and perfect for after dinner cocktail. Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer was very good. Pasta Jambalaya was very good. I wasn't a fan of Fish Platter that I requested to be blackened. It was way too blackened in my opinion. My waitress Skeeter was fantastic. The food portions were not. The pictures on Facebook are deceiving because my an andouile sausage in my red beans and rice was a 1 inch square,with half a piece of garlic bread. The French doughnuts were fantastic. read more

Saturday Brunch with live piano playing jazz with requests. We ordered the Beignets with several sauces and they were mouthwatering. You must try the Bourbon Vanilla cream sauce! I had the Eggs Sardou which I have fond memories of from the Savannah locations. It was amazing and a nice flavor burst and was served with cheese grits. My nephew had the Gumbo bowl and he was very happy with the dish. I highly recommend you give Huey's a try. I want to try the dinner menu next time but will miss the Eggs Sardou. read more

Great food for the price. Personally, I find it a little challenging to find good food in Statesboro, but this has become one of my go to's. Worth the visit if you ask me! The Cajun pasta is one of the best I've had period, let alone in Statesboro, GA. read more

Husband and I stopped by the new location in Statesboro for lunch. What a gem! We were seated immediately and Anna, our server, was quick to take our order. It's the little things that make this restaurant a great addition to our town. Great atmosphere along with the New Orleans themed decor on the walls, beautifully painted mural, and a screen slideshow featuring photos of famous NOLA landmarks and Mardi Gras pics with jazz and blues music softly playing set a nice tone. Plenty of seating and a nice little bar along the back wall. Since it was lunch we didn't want anything too heavy we both selected the lunch special of 1/2 a po'boy and choice of soup or salad. I had the "Debris " roast beef half and a caesar salad. The slightly toasted bun was so good, tasted like fresh baked bread, the roast beef was a little on the light side of a serving but it was absolutely the best seasoned roast beef I've ever tasted. I make a mean pot roast and hate to admit it but the flavor and tenderness was better than mine. So good! The Caesar salad was made with fresh crisp greens and a perfect dressing. I was too caught up with my own food but my husband had the half blackened chicken po'boy with a nice size portion of the gumbo. He said it had a nice spice to it and he really enjoyed it. We split an order of benigets with the praline sauce and the bourbon cream sauce. Delicious! The only thing they didn't offer on the menu was a good ol' nawlins Muffuletta sandwich which hopefully is in the works. Gotta have that Muffuletta! This is an extremely clean, reasonably priced establishment with great food and I hope our locals come out in full support to keep it busy. Please spread the information! read more

I was very excited when I learned that Huey's would be opening a Statesboro location because I am a fan of the Savannah restaurant. When we tried the Statesboro location about a month after it opened I found the menu to be very underwhelming, this location doesn't have nearly the selection of options that the original has, and specifically I found it strange that Statesboro doesn't offer any crawfish dishes. Personally when I think Cajun food the first thing that comes to mind is crawfish, and Huey's in Savannah's Crawfish Etouffee is like phenomenal. read more

I really wanted to like Hueys but the food quality for the price was severely lacking. Our family of 6 got take out (4 adult entrees, some of us split) and it was over $60 for VERY mediocre food. For that price would expect homemade dressings, white meat chicken, handmade hamburger patties and fresh fries, none of which we experienced at Hueys. Hate to leave a bad review but this was just so disappointing to the point as soon as I opened our to-go boxes, I wished I could get my money back. read more

Went to Huey's again tonight with my husband. We have been consistently impressed with the food here. He swears that this place has the best shrimp and grits he's ever tried. He had the burger tonight and said it was amazing too. I LOVE the fried catfish so I get the same thing pretty much every time! The place is always very clean and the staff is SO nice and attentive.
