Don't get me wrong the food was good but the girl who took my order seemed very confused by my order which was weird and they gave me sashimi instead of nigiri. I also ordered just the pho broth and that soup was so excruciatingly hot I could barely hold the outside of the container for more than 3 seconds after 45 minutes of having it. Tucked away in a rather average looking strip mall, we were delighted when we saw a well appointed, nicely decorated, vaguely pan-Asian interior. After our sake arrived, so did an amazingly drab, tepid, flavorless miso soup. My partner and I found ourselves praying that the restaurant had not shot its proverbial wad on the interior, leaving nothing left for the food. Ordering their Sashimi deluxe (a staggering 24 pieces PLUS a six piece sushi roll for only $20) and digging in I allayed our fears. With the sole exception of a couple of pieces of rather rubbery shrimp, the sashimi was quite fresh and imaginatively presented. (Please see pic). The service (" d'Angelo") was terrific. Beautifully decorated! As a lover of flowers, I was really impressed by the size of the orchids that are placed all through the restaurant. They have an impressive menu, from appetizers, soup/salad, lots of sushi choices, to hibachi, pho, and desserts. The salad that came with my hibachi was much larger than I expected, which is great if you love the ginger dressing like I do. It was a little sweeter than I am used to, but still very good. Portions in general are very generous and the food is priced very fairly. They were busy, and our food took longer than usual, but it was all hot and fresh. It's kind of hidden in a small strip mall; but it's such a good find! We tried Orchid for the very first time yesterday and we left very satisfied. For an appetizer the Sizzling Fried Dumplings with pork and they were delicious! The sauce that came with them was so yummy! They were very crispy and very well priced. I ordered the Pho with beef and it was great! They give you a lot of meat which was a pleasant surprise. The broth was very tasty and was perfect with a little bit of sriracha. I'm glad I found a local place with a decent Pho so I don't have to drive to Savannah if I'm craving it anymore! My mom ordered the Yakisoba Noodles with shrimp, and honestly, I wanted to switch entrees with her! The shrimp was so flavorful and tender and complimented the noodles perfectly. Her entree also came with some sautéed veggies and two summer rolls which were also pretty good too! All in all, we will definitely be back! Cute place! Looks beautiful coming in and inside! Really enjoyed the lemon pepper salmon hibachi and miso soup! Wine was $5 a glass, which is wonderful. It was a great experience--my only complaint is that customers came in without masks, walked around the establishment without a mask, and were still sat. I'm 30. I have asthma. After seeing this place win The Best in the Boro, I decided to give it a try for dinner. What a poor choice. The pineapple chicken was served with rubbery chicken over cold rice! The Sushi was tasteless, Miso soup tasted like chlorine and the spring rolls tasted more Mexican than Asian. The plumb wine smelled and taste like almond extract. We have been eating at Orchid for years. This is our local go-to spot for pho. I've had their sushi rolls and spring rolls and summer rolls, but for me, the star of the show is their pho. Their broth is so incredibly flavorful, with just the right balance of spices. I have had the chicken and the rare steak pho, but the meatball is my favorite. My only gripe is that they don't serve Thai basil as a garnish, but that could be a sourcing thing, as Thai basil is not readily available in our area. That's okay, that delicious, flavor-packed broth more than makes up for it! The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and is clean and well-maintained. There are always beautiful plants in the planters out front and the area around the hostess stand is filled with many beautiful live orchids! Service is always polite and courteous without being too fawning. All in all, this is my fiancé's and my favorite restaurant in the Boro. read more

I'm from out of state (FL) and read a lot of positive reviews before deciding to eat here. My first impression when walking in was it smelled good and we were met with a nice warm welcome and immediately seated. As we walked to the table I noticed the floors, tables and decor was clean and organized. Guest seemed to be happy and not looking around trying to find staff or needing help. Our waiter was very nice, patient and answered all of our questions regarding the menu. Once we placed our order the food was served within 20 minutes and tasted delicious!!! What's even better is dinner only cost right at $20.00 without drinks since we prefer water. Checkout was quick and I'd highly recommend eating here to anyone! The place was clean and we noticed many families and small children. Now... to the best part... the food! It was delicious! We ordered an appetizer to share... the Garden rolls. Tasted fresh and that wasabi... wow! We ordered the tofu hibachi plate and a salad with grilled shrimp. Both came out looking super presentable... and tasted just as yummy as they looked. We shared a green tea ice cream that was absolutely a shareable portion. We were both satisfied and when the bill came ...shook that such a yummy filling meal was under $25 for both. Sushi review: rice is great, flavors are great, but my white tuna was disappointing :( I went here a few weeks ago with a colleague for lunch. It was the typical academic year time so they weren't terribly busy. She ordered the scallops (she says because they are the best and orders them every time!). I got Bento Box 3 with a salad and an extra order of white tuna nigiri. Whenever I order from a new sushi place, I always get something with white tuna if I can because it is my favorite fish for sushi. It is (usually) very creamy in texture, which I love. My salad was drennnnnched in ginger dressing. I couldn't eat most of it because I kept coughing from the ginger. My colleague's main dish came out way before mine, but I encouraged her to not wait for me. The presentation of my sushi was good. The best part really was the rice. They use a good combination of water and rice vinegar, so the texture and flavor is great! I really liked that I could choose the nigiri pieces in the bento, so I tried raw sweet shrimp and raw eel. (They also gave me that option of raw or cooked; helpful for people to know if you're skeeved about raw fish!) Both nigiri were very good. The raw shrimp came with the tail still on and little fish eggs(?) on top. The white tuna nigiri however was disappointing. After raving about how much I love white tuna to my colleague, I couldn't even bite through the fish! The veins were almost impossible to pull apart; just imagine me there having to rip pieces of it out of my mouth. LOL The quality of this tuna was just not there. I probably wouldn't order it again. The other interesting thing here was that they bring you a ketchup-like container to put spicy mayo on your rolls yourself. Up in Philly (where I'm coming from most recently) any extra sauce like this would be an extra cost to you, and you would get a small portion of it. We also had to ask specifically for chopsticks. Next time: I'll ask for that dressing on the side, and try some other nigiri. read more

Ok, myself, my lady, and two of my three sons went here for dinner on 6 pm on saturday evening. We were seated right away, given iur drinks, and given time to peruse the menu. Orders placed, we awaited our meals. When all four meals arrived together, we found all of our meals were piping hot (or cold in one case), and made with proper portions. I loved my hibachi ribeye, my lady's hibachi teryaki chicken was perfectly seasoned, and my two son's meals - a Pho bowl and Orchid #1 plate - were also totally delicious. To top it off, the cost for four dinners of this quality was very reasonable, and our server was very efficient. All in all, were definitely coming back. Yes!! read more
