The Olde Pink House - Peanut Butter Dessert

The Olde Pink House is a Savannah staple, oddly enough, it took me over 5 years to finally go. It…read morecan be extremely hard to secure a reservation here, but if you're able to go, do it! I'll preface by saying the vibe was interesting. There's a woman that sitios by tables to sing, which I didn't particularly like. The house itself gives off pre civil war vibes... so take that as you will. Nothing strange or offensive happened to me, it was the energy. Now to the meal. Our waiter was great. We ordered wine to go with our food and started with the biscuits and some oysters of the half shell. Delish! My husband ordered the scorched flounder and I got the fried lobster tails. Amazing flavors, and we were stuffed. The Olde Pink House is on the pricier side, but there's attention to the detail in the meals that match the price. There is an elevator inside, which is good since the stairs are a bit steep, and there are so many places to sit with a different feel.

So glad we went here during our trip to Savannah. Our server was excellent, the manager stopped by…read moremultiple times, and the vibes were solid. It may sound crazy - but I would actually skip the entrees and order multiple appetizers and salads. The BLT salad was incredible. The crab cake app was so good. And the fried green tomatoes were delish!

Hands down best food in Waynesboro!…read more Amazing meats, perfect veggies, tons of options, and all for rock bottom prices. I'd give 6 stars if I could. I have had a few of their meats and my favorites are the ribs and the porkchops. They really know how to handle pork. As for sides, any vegetable is a winning pick and the mac and cheese is a perfect pairing with any fried food. The service is fast and accurate and their system for running through the long lines works amazing. The restaurant is a bit dated but it Taylor's has been an institution for forever so that's a good sign. This is a perfect quick lunch spot or a quick family dinner spot. Seating is limited but tables rotate pretty quick. If you are wanting a place to sit and chit chat for an hour, I'd suggest taking the food to go.

The portion was smaller. The taste lacked. The chicken was dry. A fried pork chop should be seasoned or at least the flour. We had sweet tea that was super sweet which is a -/+ depending on your taste buds. I personally love a sweet tea. Mac and cheese was over cooked. Black eye peas and Lima beans were very watery and lacked seasoning. The only reason a 3 star was given was the CUSTOMER service. The staff were very friendly, very attentive. They greeted us when we came in, thanked us as we paid. It was a little disturbing to notice the separation of who worked the service line and who worked the cash register. We don't live in the 1900's. There was a picture in the dining room, in one of the pictures shown, very disturbing to see something clearly from the era of segregation. To know this establishment has such a high star value is scary.
