The food is more or less what you would expect. The service is questionable. When the waitress starts to suggest changes to your order, ie, salad instead of fries, more chips & salsa - they should also tell you that there is a charge for it. I had a mushroom cheese quesadillas & it came with chips & salsa. Since the person I was with was also eating the chips & salsa I asked for more. No problem until we got the bill. The "suggestions" cost extra, and we were charged for the additional chips and salsa. If that's their policy okay, but please let the diners know ahead of time. Also, my quesadilla consisted of 3 pieces. Every other place I've ordered one there were 6 pieces & I took 3 home for the next day. Drove past this place many times the past few years during visits back to GSU. Looked more like a typical college student hangout so opted to not stop in. Most recent trip a lady at the GSU football game recommended it. Me and my two alumni buds opted to check out. It has a decent outdoor area and an interior that reminds me of Taco Mac. Atmosphere was good and our server was great. The Buffalo chicken artichoke dip with points was the only thing I enjoyed food-wise. I have tried this restaurant twice. The first time I got my order to go and when I got it home it was not good. I live a mile from here, but the food did not travel well - everything was luke warm and mushy. I gave it another chance recently and this time ate there. The food was ok, but not great. I was not crazy about the cheeseburger. Something tasted weird in the seasoning I think. The fries were pretty good so that was a plus, and the cheese sticks were much better when eaten there this time. The restaurant is what you would expect from a typical sports bar type restaurant. TVs, booths, tables and the bar. Overall, I probably won't waste my time or money to go back, however there are way worse places that are more expensive expensive. read more

Bites was a nice discovery on a recent visit to Statesboro. We were seated quickly & a waiter approached with light hearted banter & helpful suggestions. We started with onion rings - a large platter of them - nicely prepared. Wife got the Greek quesadilla & loved it. I got the Bites Deluxe Burger & fries. This was a super cool place. We were passing through and thankfully other Yelpers highly recommended this place. It was super clean and staff very friendly. It has a lot of TVs with sports playing set up like a bar and grill that was very family friendly. The wait staff brought out an activity sheet and crayons for the kids. The food was delicious. The smothered fries were bad queso, pulled Bork and bbq sauce. The pork was very well done and queso is always delicious. The bbq sauce is just the right amount of sweetness. We really enjoyed our first visit at this colorful casual restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed the huge menu, everything from burgers, sandwiches, pasta, seafood, BBQ and mega salads. I came here ONE time after leaving Splash N The Boro with my family and I talk about this place every day since then. I ordered 3 different things all to try and it was all AMAZING. The souther comfort fries, PERFECTION. The fish and chips was the BEST I EVER HAD, it was so fresh and you can tell they make their tartar sauce it was DELICIOUS. And the macho loaded quesadilla was TOP TIER, I literally ate EVERY LAST BITE (with help ofc) My mom got a burger and LOVED it. My son loved his "I'm not hungry" (Aka chicken tenders and fries) meal so much that he made me order a second one. And let's not get started on the drinks. They have SO many drink choices. Fish bowl drinks, large margaritas, all different flavors. I had the BEST mixed drink I ever had there, had to order two more. And the STAFF?! Absolutely the sweetest people. My waitress was so polite and patient, she had great suggestions. Also the young woman at the front was so sweet and she told me all about their karaoke days and live band days. The fish was cooked perfectly, however the sandwich itself was lacking a little flavor. The tarter sauce helped with flavor, but something was missing. French fries were good, hot, and crispy. Bites served up a pretty good burger that I can justify giving it a four rating. The service by today's standards was closer to five than four, but not over the top. I was told that the fries were made from scratch, but I don't think so. "Scratch" means starting from whole fresh potatoes. Mine was way too saturated with cooking oil to be fresh potatoes. But, when you're borderline starved, a little extra grease in your fries ain't nothing. Long story short, next time I am around these parts I'll be back. read more

We were heading back home after leaving to escape from Hurricane Helene power outages and while also fleeing from Hurricane Milton during our stay in Florida. We stopped at bites to stretch our legs and to grab food. First they were accommodating with letting us sit outside since we had our dog with us. Then we had a great conversation with our server, Madison, and finding out she has family near where we were fleeing from (we have family there as well). We ordered kids chicken tenders, hummus platter, Greek quesadilla, and tequila lime chicken sandwich. The one time my husband and I don't order fries is the time when the fries are amazing! Luckily the salad we got was big with fresh toppings. Our two little ones devoured the chicken and we enjoyed our meals. Madison made our random stop memorable and we greatly appreciate everything she did for us. This is a must stop now for us when we drive through Statesboro! We love Bites! The atmosphere is great (they're always playing some good throwbacks). The staff is always so nice, and the bartenders have great recommendations on food and drinks. We probably order takeout here more than we actually go in, and our order is always ready at the window in a timely manner. We actually ordered from here a few nights ago and were told it may be a longer wait than usual because it was busy...the "longer wait" was an *entire* 20 minutes. Uh yeah I'll take that long wait any day. The chicken wraps are probably my favorite (especially tequila lime) but the burgers also deserve recognition. The spinach artichoke burger is soooo good with a little kick. House chips are a must, and you have to dip them in Bites sauce. The salads are great too. You see where this is going. I could go on. COVID STUFF: Most of the staff was wearing masks. Cooks used gloves. Hand sanitizer was available. Only one person in the back handling boxes wasn't. While social distancing wasn't enforced, most people social distanced. About 25-50% of customers weren't wearing masks. FOOD: The menu is extensive and I will definitely be returning. Once again Bites doesn't disappoint. Wife tried the chicken quesadilla and I gave the atomic burger a try. Both were excellent. I love siracha and my burger had jalapeño and siracha sauce on it plus it came with a side of spicy sauce. Worst place to eat in Statesboro! Food here can only be compared to what I assume dog food would taste like. If even your waiter thinks your food should be sent back that should be reason enough to actually remake it correctly. Not only was the food worse the second time but I was told I either had to pay for it or get something else and still pay for half of it even though I didn't take a full bite of it.
