Great quality salad and chicken was plentiful and tasty

Quality bbq spot. Prompt service at the table. Two sauce options -both were flavorful. We had chicken and pork and both were chopped small and tender. Pretty moist I'd say 7 of 10 on taste scale. Salad was super leafy with quality ingredients {much better than expected at a bbq spot} Dec would recommend if in the area. We just were passing through on way back to atlanta.

Wow! Papa Buck's is clearly a community favorite and I understand why! We stopped in (based solely off its positive Yelp reviews) on a recent road trip. The tables were full and there was a steady stream of customers at the counter. You know it's a local favorite when you see police AND EMS crews dining alongside you :) Now to the food...I chose the pulled pork sandwich with two sides: fries and fried okra. All good! The fried okra is the best I've had - the seasoning was so good and perfectly crispy! The service was friendly and fast - we were back on the road in no time! Thank you, Papa Buck's!

Nice place, waitress efficient, had ribs and stew- very good.. then bought a chewy cake at register. So much meat on ribs, tender. Lucky to find this place off of hwy going from Georgia to Amelia Island

Growing up in the south, it's not often that I rave about BBQ... but I'm raving! This was the best I've ever had. The potato salad is loaded up and delicious! The brisket was so flavorful! I had never had sweet potato puffs before, but OMG- so good! We tried two difference sauces- signature which is vinegar based and the sweet and Smokey. Both sauces were great! It's a walk up and order place with self serve on the drinks. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The only con is you will overeat! The portions are huge!! It is so good it's hard to stop.

This place is terrible. The Brunswick stew was so hot it could not be eaten until I had finished everything else. There was no corn or lima beans in it. I finally ate it, mostly because everything else was so bad. I had the sliced pork loin plate. I am accustomed to sliced pork being very thin, this was about 3/4 of an inch thick. That was OK just not what I was expecting. As my other side I had fries. Both the fries and pork were room temperature and the pork did not seem to have any rub or seasoning. I ordered unsweet tea, I got sweet tea. I would have sent it all back but the server never came back until it was time to collect the bill. I had a free drink for checking in on Yelp, the server seemed irritated that she had to take it off after she totaled the check but if she had come back I would have told her. Metter is one of the only places with options across I-16, there are many other options at this exit. I would recommend you go somewhere else.

Traveling from Hilton head back to Atlanta I developed a taste for some good bbq so I pulled up yelp and several places popped up. So I read the reviews and made a choice all I have to say is the ribs are on point 5 stars!! The young lady that took my order can use some training in politeness other than that one of the best ribs I've had besides my

As an Atlantan driving to the coast, you drive through several hours of middle Georgia nothingness along the way and your food options are either chain fast food spots or local hole-in-the-wall options. I prefer to go the later route when traveling so we stumbled upon this spot in Metter. It's located just off I-16 next to a BP gas station and when you find a food joint next to a gas station, you know you've either found a diamond in the rough or you'll be living in the bathroom for the next 12-24 hours. Luckily, this fared more towards the first. It's a very small joint with maybe 10-12 tables and the decor screams "BBQ joint, but make it middle Georgia style" - I found it to be kind of cute and add to the overall vibe. The service was very quick and the menu is condensed enough where it won't take you long to figure out what you want. Apparently this place also has a BBQ challenge that's like 4lbs of food that you have to finish in less than 45 minutes?? I wasn't prepared for that route so we both went with a traditional BBQ plate. Overall, the food is good. The pork is tender and the sides ranged from decent to DAMN. Don't sleep on the potato salad, it was by far the best side item (it was really creamy with a touch of dill). The sweet and smoky BBQ sauce was a home run so I highly recommend that. The prices are also reasonable and we were out the door for around $25 for two people. If you're making the I-16 trek and looking for a quick and cheap lunch, I would absolutely recommend stopping here vs Dairy Queen down the road for better food, service, and ambiance.

Barbecue was great. Liked the sauce too. Would've been better if the buns were buttered and toasted, but still good.

You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The gals working at the counter were very friendly. My daughter ordered a catfish po-boy and I got a dinner portion of their Lo Country boil. I should have had the lunch portion as I ended up taking half of it home. The lo country boil was the classic shrimp, sausage, red potatoes and corn. It was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick. The cocktail sauce served with it had a perfect amount of horseradish. We also shared an order of "firecracker" shrimp. So tasty. My daughter reports her sandwich was tasty if a bit bready. The portion of catfish on the sandwich was plentiful. Sally Mae's is just off the interstate and worth seeking out if you are in the area.

The mac and cheese was fine but not great, the brunswick stew was watery, and the banana pudding was super liquidy and tasted like sunscreen (my husband said soap lol). It was also mostly whipped cream somehow. The hickory bbq sauce was great, the hush puppies were fine with the cinnamon butter, and the cornbread was really good. The portions are also TINY for the price. Staff was nice but we will not be back.

To the point where when I stopped for the night the only food available on yelp was showing as all fast food. It didn't appear to be one single restaurant open in this little town that I drove around and stumbled across Pig out BBQ , which is literally a converted house where they're serving fantastic barbecue straight out the kitchen window. I had a brisket sandwich with some of their spicy barbecue sauce And a sweet tea with a side of cobbler. The only thing I wasn't knocked over by was the cobbler, but boy that brisket sandwich made up for everything! It was really good and I'm not even a fan of sandwiches Folks don't let the exterior fool you, sometimes the very best food you'll get is good down home cooking like this and the fact that they shovel it out the kitchen window to your car is pretty adorable in my book.
