There's a reason why this is one of the highest rated businesses in Statesboro. They're quick, friendly, and their food is great cost benefit! I was impressed by how many different types of veggies they include in their salad, since most kebab spots I've been to have very basic salads. Meat is well seasoned and their portions are pretty filling. Good pita, too! I've mostly ordered to go, but have also sat down to eat with my family. Even though it's not a fancy dine in spot, their tables were clean. The only thing that I was a bit surprised by was that there's no tap water, you have to buy bottled water, but it seems to be a common thing here in Statesboro. read more

I got boba tea here. Boba tea was reasonably priced and great. They also have the donners, and they have the meat skewers cooking. There were three skewers, so you can pick which meat you want. That's great, because I do not want to eat beef, and I want chicken. (Donner in Germany would tend to be one skewer of mystery meat.) This was great for boba tea, and I feel like if you look at the menu online, pick what you want, then go in and order it, that you will not be disappointed. read more

If you've been to Germany or are familiar with Turkish cuisine then you know just how good a Döner Kebab is. In Germany you can find them on every corner, Döner stands are like Starbucks in Seattle, they're everywhere! And with Döners being one of the most popular and cheap fast foods available there, it's almost impossible to not have had a Döner if you've ever been to Germany and if you have not you're missing out! From the meat to the veggies, feta cheese and yogurt sauce this street food is a must try. And who would have thought a little place in Georgia can serve up a traditional Döner Kebab. But let me tell you I was impressed after doing lunch yesterday with my husband. It's a tiny place with just a few tables inside but Sons Döner Kebab serves a pretty authentic Döner that is so hard to get my hands on in the states. I went with their number 1. with fries, lamb meat, all the veggies, yogurt sauce and added feta cheese and a pita bread. My husband ordered their number 8. With lamb meat, all the veggies and yogurt sauce. We also added their strawberry and avocado boba teas. However the teas were a miss, the strawberry one tasted like nestle strawberry milk powder was used and my avocado one had no hint of avocado but tasted like green tea which was just ok. However the food overall was amazing and prices were fair especially being we could not finish either. The only 2 complaints I'd have with the food are that the yogurt sauce was more on the basic side it missed that oomph I'm accustomed to with Turkish flavor and the fries were not seasoned. But neither of my two complaints would prevent me from going back because the Döner meat was spot on and overall my food was still amazing. Staff here were extremely friendly and get the food out to you fast. Even though this is a little establishment it is very clean and as soon as customers get up staff are there to clean the tables. The bathroom too was spotless which you can always appreciate. If you've had the real deal Döner or not I'd still recommend this place, it's so unique and everywhere should offer these delicious treats. read more

This little spot brings back so many memories to the time I was stationed in Germany. This Döner Kabab plate is hearty and filling. I always get the mixed lamb and beef with all the vegetables. The tender meat is always very tasty and the vegetables alway fresh tasting as well. Absolutely love coming here whenever I'm in Statesboro. Great fast service, delicious food with large portions, and fair prices. It is a great option in the area for a quick and delicious meal. I get the box meal with the sliced beef and lamb over a bed of fries or rice (depending on my mood when I go - both are good options) and it's served with veggies and a sauce of your choice. I CANNOT stress how much this place never misses. My boyfriend and I come here maybe even a little too often. The staff is friendly, the food is great, and the prices are more than reasonable. The menu is straight forward and all of the options are rather similar, so if German Döner Kebabs aren't your thing, you may not be pleased...but you should still go anyways and try again because how can you not like these things ?? Wish the portions were bigger. But honestly the time it takes from ordering to getting your plate makes up for the portions. As far as the quality of the food? The lamb? Fireeeeeeee!!!!!! Perfectly seasoned. Yummy! The chicken ? I'm not a fan of, but if you're not into red meats, I can see someone loving it. Their employees are incredibly nice, they have a simple system, the owner is VERY VERY NICE. And their bobas are yummy They are above all else consistent. Moral of the story: it is my favorite place in Statesboro so far. I just moved down here 3 months ago, and have been going around trying to find the best spots. By far, Sons's restaurant did not disappoint at all. The flavors of the meat, sauce and even the fresh veggies were everything. I enjoyed every bite. The slushy was amazing too! Succulent meat and fresh veggies at affordable prices! I'm hooked on this place and have officially hooked 2 others on it! They have a variety of pairings between meat, veggies, and fries/pita/bread/wrap/rice. Being gluten-free I always go with the rice or fries platters. The beef and lamb plate is so good. The meat is tender and flavorful. Plus the garlic sauce is amazing; just make sure you don't have any close encounters without some powerful mints! They also have a few frozen boba tea drinks. The mango I'm a warm day is really refreshing. And you can't forget the punch card if you're a thrifty Yelper like me! Next time: I might try another boba tea flavor or the chicken plate. read more

Wanting something different for lunch, I stopped in at Son's Doner Kebab for a lamb pita, with cabbage and tomato. I'm glad that I did. As noted by others, Son's is located in a strip mall; and, it's easy to miss if you're not hungry; so, keep your eyes open for it. In any case, the pita itself was incredibly soft, with a pleasing texture. The lamb was well prepared and plentiful. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. You can't ask for much more, except perhaps a reasonable price. Well, you get that too. My meal cost less than nine dollars, including a bottle of water. This is well worth the visit. read more

This shopping plaza restaurant is a gem! The restaurant interior was clean and kitchen/prep area was also clean and organized. It's a very casual environment. There were two outside tables in front of the store on the plaza sidewalk. The shop itself has about seven small tables for eating inside and a counter/kitchen area for ordering. They seemed to have more takeout business than dine-in but we didn't mind there not being a ton of patrons staying to eat. The staff was laidback, kind, and courteous. The gentleman that took our order at the counter allowed some changes for my children on their plates and the order was accurate when it was served. The food was delicious and fresh. The portions were generous. He even delivered each item remembering who got which plate, drink, and particular condiment. I was impressed because I ordered for everyone so he must have been really paying attention to the details to note who received each item out of the plethora I purchased. My family can be very picky and everyone enjoyed their meal. I love finding little places like this one that serve up a fuss free easy dinner that's also delicious. I lived in Europe for a couple years and these Doner Kenab shops are huge over there. I've tried Kebabs in LA, LV & SLC and this place trumps all of them. It's truly a hidden gem in statesboro ga. People who like good middle eastern / mediterranean food need to give this place a try! read more
