One of the closest places to grab something to eat has been this Jimmy John's, and every day I've walked in, Emma has been there. She has made my sandwich each time, and what might seem like a simple interaction to someone else has honestly meant so much to me during a very challenging few days. I have a tomato allergy, and Emma has been consistently attentive to my order and my needs. What really stood out to me was that she remembered my order from the previous days. Walking in and having someone recognize you, remember what you need, greet you with a smile, and simply show genuine kindness can provide a much-needed moment of normalcy when life feels anything but normal. On top of that, the sandwich has been consistently fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what I ordered every single time. That kind of consistency matters, especially when you're exhausted, stressed, and spending your days at a hospital. When I tried to get a refund, the cashier did genuinely apologize, but explained that she was not allowed to give refunds. She also printed out a receipt for me, as I had not been asked if I wanted one when I ordered and wasn't given one. In addition, two of the others employees seemed to be trying to do anything except their job. There were also people outside the building screaming at each other about calling the cops (not the workers' or business's fault, but still didn't exactly improve the whole situation). I mean this is what bought me in and why I don't mind paying as much as I do because what is being advertised. It really comes off as false advertisement when you don't receive the same item being presented. And if it's a situation of the items not being available, the customer should have the option to decide if they would prefer something else instead. In this case, I was not told it wasn't available; I was just presented with the item once completed.
