It has been 9 years since our last dinner at this quiet and prestigious restaurant. I remember everything being perfect and it still was but we felt a bit rushed. There was no offer to start with a drink from the bar or bread. Sparking water was provided and appreciated. The general ambiance was calm and table cloths and napkins made it feel special. AS usual, the reputation of this small but elegant venue is in tact. It is still pricy, as it should be. That is why we do not go except from a special occasion. Parking is ample but a few more handicap spaces would be appreciated. read more

Well--Just a TERRIFIC experience all the way around! We had a group of six last night and the whole experience was totally delightful. Great service, OUTSTANDING meals, delicious wines and captivating desserts. We started with a couple of the sunchoke soups and caeser salads and then rolled into our main dishes--2 filets, cooked PERFECTLY, snapper (delish), 2 salmons over grits (yummy), pork chop (out of this world). We ordered all the desserts to share and had some great Flowers Chardonnay and Italian Riserva Red-- the team assisting was awesome! Can't wait to return. read more

Also had the "petite " seafood scallop shrimp and varietal fresh mushroom risotto. Creamy and flavorful. And just the right size for $20!!! This is a hidden gem of a restaurant in Augusta! The decor and ambiance inside are wonderful, especially having dined there in December, although the place certainly didn't need the Christmas decorations to make it feel any more warm and inviting. The service was excellent, beginning with the host whose welcome and conversation matched the feel of the place itself. Our Server, Rafe, was excellent too! He explained the menu in a way that made me want to try everything on it in one night. He too, had no trouble striking up and keeping conversation, but not awkwardly, nor overwhelmingly. He is also a sommelier, and can also make a wonderful Black Walnut Manhattan! Rafe's service was so good that my wife and I might regularly ask for his service when dinning there. Then there's the food. It was worth every penny! The meat was so tender and delicious in my Ibérico Pork dish that I cleaned the plate, and the risotto with shrimp and scallops in my wife's dish had both of us wanting more of it. I plan to go back to at least also try the fillet and the rack of lamb, which are certainly both on my list. Yet, since my description can only be like seeing a picture of something that is better experienced in person, I will recommend to anyone that they try this restaurant for themselves. Only then will they know why I started by calling Cadwallader's Cafe a hidden gem of a place. I should note that the attire for diners is business casual, and dinning is not cheap, but the quality, ambiance, and service make it all well worth the cost! read more

This was an excellent meal! We started with an evening special of scallops with grits that was so good, I chose scallops for dinner again. The duck wings were so crispy and tasty, I wouldn't be surprised if I come back just for them and one of their specialty drinks. I had the scallops with risotto, probably the only critique I had of The evening was the risotto was just a bit al dente for my taste and just lukewarm. It's been years (5+) since we went to Cadwalladers, as our last experience wasn't anything special. However we heard there had been some changes made, so we made a reservation and had ourselves a date night. We were greeted by the owner upon our arrival and promptly seated at a booth, it's a classic, upscale ambiance inside. My husband started his meal with the Caesar salad, and we were brought rolls. The rolls were good, but if they had been warm..... For our mains we had the pork chop and the seafood risotto. The pork chop came with summer vegetables and mashed potatoes topped with a "Lusty Monk" mustard sauce (IYKYK), and it was perfect. The pork was an excellent cut and cooked perfectly and the veggies and potatoes complimented it splendidly. The Shrimp and Scallop Risotto was somewhat an unexpected menu item, and my husband was so impressed. It had asparagus tips, artichoke hearts, and Parmesan cheese and he thought it was absolutely delicious. They make their own desserts(!!) so I ordered the lemon blueberry layer cake with cream cheese frosting, to go. It was excellent. I love it when restaurants make their own desserts! Hopefully this next statement isn't controversial for some locals: The meal we had at Cadwalladers this week was as good as recent meals at Cork and Flame. We will be back much sooner than 5 years, and telling others to give this Augusta oldie another try. This was the best meal in a restaurant that I have had in Augusta. We shared the scallops which were absolutely the best! I got a small filet which was more than enough and cooked perfectly. This came with delicious mashed potatoes and asparagus. Fir dessert I got pecan pie which was not the best. My friend got the crème brûlée and that was fabulous! I can't believe it took me this long to write a review about one of my favorite hidden gems in Augusta! I have been here 3 times previously and had devoured my food before I could get any pictures but this time I remembered to snap before I ate. I was told that their is new recent owners and all I can say is that it was just as good if not better then my previous visits. They take reservations which is always a plus and they do a great job of accommodating large groups if you call well in advance. They have a really nice bar with a very friendly and personable Bartendar. We sat at the bar as we waited for our table and had some great wine and cocktails. We started with some yummy dinner rolls that they provide and then shared some appetizers. The charcuterie was very good, I really enjoyed the olives and jams provided. They come with crackers instead of bread. For main course, I had the Australian Rack of Lamb and let me tell you, they are some of the best I have ever had. They were flavorful and cooked perfectly (I requested whatever chef recommended). I paired that with the Cabernet mushrooms and broccolini as my sides and wow they were so good especially those mushrooms! I shared the lamb with some of my friends at the table and they thought it was one of the best things on the menu as well. Totally worth the price and can be easily shared if your not that hungry. The have a really good wine selection as well and the ambiance (wine on the walls, lighting etc.) was great! It was so good that I was almost hesitant about providing such a great review, as I don't want this place to get even more crowded then it should be because that would mean it would be harder for me to get a reservation. But in all seriousness, make a trip out to this great restaurant, you won't regret it! read more

Decided to dine-out and made reservations at Cadwalladers in Augusta, Ga. I had experience this establishment prior to the COVID-19 pandemic so, I was presently surprised to find they were open for business. I made reservations and as usual we were greeted at the door, reservation confirmed we were promptly seated our waiter brought water shortly after fresh rolls with delicious honey butter, for our drinks I want to try there Manhattans, we also ordered a vodka with cranberry. I must say the entrees were exceptional! The lamb chop flavorful, juicy and not gaming tasting at all. My wife enjoyed the pork chop meal. I was impressed with the salad not your standard house or Caesar. I recommend everyone to try Cadwalladers for an enjoyable date night well worth the price. Haven't visited Cadwalladers for sometime, big mistake. Took my wife and kids, who have kids, for a birthday celebration for my wife here. Amazing service, amazing atmosphere and outstanding food!!! My grandson (4 months) was with us and started to cry. I immediately picked him up and headed out the front door. The owner stopped us and took us to a back room until he calmed down. I chose this location for a date night as I wanted to treat my husband to an upscale dinner. After searching for some of the finer establishments in Augusta, the name Cadwalladers came up as a consistent recommendation . My experience here was good but not overly impressed . I want to point out that the staff was extremely kind and courteous and definitely the highlight of our night, simply excellent . The food was very very good. The very apparent quality that I was not impressed by was the ambiance / aesthetics of the restaurant itself . The outside of the restaurant appears very neglected to where my husband was very confused and asked where we were even going as we pulled up ( was not easily identifiable as an upscale restaurant) . The inside was clean and cozy but again very outdated and nothing overly appealing to the eye or synonymous with what I thought Cadwalladers was in terms of class. These things may have been less relevant at an establishment that serves courses at a lower price point, but I believe this type of restaurant deserves a little more love and is in need of a makeover . Although we were overall satisfied , if I had to choose again I would probably head to bonefish grill instead for ambiance at a better price point ( I generally prefer supporting local instead of chain restaurants). read more
