Very flavorful dim sum and reasonable place! $4-6 an order and dumplings and meats were plump! The seasoning was well salted. I have always used soy sauce on top of each dish for dim sum, preferring more salt but didnt have to here. Service is your average Chinese restaurant. Brief and sharp but it works and is expected

Their roast meats are hands down the best in flushing. When I was in Brooklyn, my go to spot was Kings kitchen and I can say they are on par with KK in Brooklyn. KK recently opened in flushing and their duck meat were all bones and service was horrible. So I came back to the OG that never disappoints and this certainly didn't. They Jam Pack it with proteins and do not cheap out. 10/10 will def come back soon!

We were here visiting relatives. When we arrived around noon in a weekday, there was a line to get in. It ended up being around 20 minutes and we were seated at our own table. Tablecloths and ladies pushing around the dim sum carts hawking their dishes. There were no surprises, as dim sum is always fun for us. Be sure to check your bill at the end of the meal. Tips are already included.

East Buffet has been a staple in the Chinese Community for decades in Downtown Flushing. There are actually three different venues. There is a take-out section on the ground floor. A restaurant behind the take-out and a huge banquet hall in the second floor with Dim Sum for lunch and dinners as well as wedding and birthday parties. It serves mainly Cantonese style Chinese food. East Buffet stopped serving all-you-can-eat buffet and Mongolian hot pot many years ago. They have a good selection of meat and seafood dishes. But the name remains at East Buffet and Restaurant! We were there recently with a party of 28 around 10:30 AM for early lunch. Well, at a Sunday,10:30 AM, it was packed and the line started forming by the main entrance! We managed to get our seating after a 20 minutes wait! The Dim Sum are good. You can pick whatever you like from carts wheeled around by attendants. There are many exotic dishes, so your experience will vary. The food well prepared, fresh, flavorful and tasty. Good service. Very busy during the weekend and holiday. Hard to find parking!

Location: 42-07 Main Street Flushing, NY 11355 Service: okay but mostly always in a hurry. Ambiance: a little loud and people and servers were coming and going like every second. Restroom is fine too. Food: The most awaited. Had the sautéed ginger clam- was real goodness and very flavorful. Roasted pork good for one person was also cooked well and loved the crispy part of it plus the sauce which made it more wholesome. And lastly the beed with broccoli- beef was very tender and juicy and zesty. Highly recommend when it comes to the food. Although you need to bring cash for the tip!

This review is for East Bistro. We frequent this place when in flushing and looking for dinner. It's on the ground floor of the banquet hall/ dim sum hall. The food is usually good with ok service (Asian style ). The chicken today was on the dry side so did not love. The lamb casserole, walnut shrimp and Chinese style beef was good. The walnut shrimp is consistently good. Apologies for the half eaten photos as I forgot to taken them they were coming. My gripe with this place is that the floors are consistently greasy and slippery. Because it's so small, during peak hours, it can get super crowded. But it looks to be a beloved place for locals for good value eats. The bathrooms are also super dirty and they use the cheapest toilet paper possible which means that you're rolling and rolling more paper . There are 3 private rooms along the wall and they have room dividers in the main dining room if you need a space sectioned off for a party.

Late to the party with this review--came here for a wedding (twice!) back in 2019. Better late than never, right? East Buffet & Restaurant served up the quintessential wedding feast. We started off with a bang--fried goodies galore! Somewhere between dodging Aunt Linda's hugs and the sashimi platter, I felt like I was navigating a culinary obstacle course. Seafood? Check. Boiled shrimp and lobster? Double check. The grand finale was soup followed by some fresh fruit. Classic Chinese wedding arrangement. And let's not forget those darn yellow oshibori wet towels. Apparently, they're for wiping your hands, not your face or neck (who knew?!). I mean, I'm not Japanese, so I guess that explains my faux pas. The highlight of the evening? Dragon dancing! Super cool. But honestly, I have no clue if that's part of the restaurant's wedding package or just a happy coincidence (never been married nor will I be married anytime soon, so I'm out of the loop on these things). The second wedding I attended there had a standout moment--Peking duck buns! Probably the most iconic thing I've ever been served at a wedding. Sorry to all the other wedding caterers, but those buns stole the show. They were a delightful addition that elevated the whole experience. As for the food overall? Pretty okay. Not mind-blowing, but it did the job. If you find yourself invited to a wedding here, rest assured you'll get a decent meal and maybe even a dragon dance show. Just don't expect any groundbreaking culinary revelations--unless those Peking duck buns make a surprise appearance again.

Flavorful dishes, some were a bit too oily and heavy for me. Great place for dim sum, they do get packed, waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. The only thing is the ladies pushing the carts, some don't even stop and when ask about the ingredients, one of them seemed very annoyed & yelled back. The reason we ask for ingredients cause we wanted to know for allergies.

Son returned from college and was craving Roast Pig so I took him here for lunch. First time we've eaten downstairs since the renovation 2 years ago. We couldn't figure out the entrance into the downstairs dining room because you can't enter through the takeout area. There is a gray door on the first floor next to the elevator you enter for the dining room. We ordered the Roast Pig and while it was delicious the portion were small for the price. A much better value when you do takeout. The baby boy choy dish was excellent and generous portion size. Service was efficient.

East Buffet & Restaurant is all about variety. The selection is massive, from sushi and seafood to classic Chinese dishes and an entire dessert spread. It is definitely a place where you come hungry and leave full. While not every single dish is perfect, there is more than enough to make the visit worthwhile. The value is great for the price, and it works really well if you are with family or a group of friends who want a lot of options.

After recently having dinner at Dim Sum Palace in C-town last week, we enjoyed a belated Mother's Day family style Cantonese dinner in NYC's C-town #2, Flushing. The food here was better in every way than Dim Sum Palace, larger portions, more authenticity (subjectively), lower prices, good cleanliness, easy street parking after 7pm. Lamb chops, beef short ribs, sweet and sour fish filet, water spinach, Peking style pork chops, ginger-scallion lobster , seafood chow mein, beef chow mein. Everything prepared to Canto standards. Service is "upside down smile", but no different than every other Cantonese restaurant we've eaten at for the last 40 years. Don't expect them to be friendly, but the food is yummy !

This place used to be an all-you-can-eat Buffet. After the pandemic, they don't do buffets anymore. but they do serve a great selection of dim sum every day. And tipping is included.

Ask the Community - East Buffet & Restaurant

    How do we make reservation?

I don't think they take reservations for dim sum, but you would have to call for dinner reservations.

What time are you open on the weekend? Do you do dinning in?

    Sunday11AM-11PMMonday11AM-11PMTuesday11AM-11PMWednesday11AM-11PMThursday11AM-11PMFriday11AM-11PMSaturday9AM-11PM

Do they still do any buffets?

    No They dont

Is this place accessible for wheelchairs?

There is elevator to second floor, or just go to the first floor.

What are the banquet menu options? I called the restaurant and they asked me to drive to Flushing to pick up menu. I live in NJ.

Banquet options are the typical Cantonese style dishes and seafood fare. You can preset the menu to the pricing you want...budget wise. But if you're doing a wedding or a super large group, the best thing to do is to negotiate on portion vs pricing.

Any cheap parking lots nearby? Does this restaurant have any validated parking?

They have a parking lot, entry on Maple Ave

How much is it per person?

It depends how much you eat. Each dish is anywhere between $2ish to $4ish. Usually when I come here, we spend about $20 per person.

The restaurant is partitioned up into several different rooms where they will push carts in and out of the rooms themselves. I was seated in some place that almost looked like a back room, but it was still decorated in the dim sum restaurant kind of theme. Service itself was pretty consistent. We didn't have to wait too long to get any of the desired dishes that we wanted. Ambience: I think your typical staple dim sum restaurant ambiance was here. Definitely felt very conversational with family. Was not too quiet or too loud. Food: I don't think that the dim sum here was that good. It didn't wow me as much as I was expecting it to. I initially saw this on one of the Michelin Guide website, and I was expecting a little more out of this place. Of all the places that I've had dim sum at, I just feel like this was more okay rather than anything special. For example the shumai didn't have that "juicy bite" kind of feel that you usually get. Again, nothing about this restaurant was bad per se, but I just felt like this was in the lower tier of all the dim sum places that I've had. I think for this reason, it gets a 3/5 for me.

The staff wanted my wife to sit at an angle to the table; so that they could pass through. The seafood itself was solid traditional Cantonese fare with fresh lobster tanks, steamed fish, and classic banquet-style dishes. The atmosphere felt colorful authentic Hong Kong banquet hall energy. However, some of their pricing was completely out of whack. Mother's Day premium for sure which is understandable, but some dishes were simply excessively expensive for what was delivered. For example, our two lobsters, while fresh, were missing that smoky "wok hei" flavor that great Cantonese kitchens are known for. It lacked the depth, aroma, and richness one expects from a proper high-heat wok preparation. A few items felt priced more for Guide Michelin luxury dining than a Flushing seafood hall. This said, the service was efficient and professional; changing plates all the time. So a high level of attention above the usual Cantonese restaurant. Overall, decent food in and an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant that targets special family gatherings, but be prepared, both the crowds and the bill can become overwhelming very quickly. I have so many reasons to believe that Emperor is truly the reincarnation of the restaurant...just a little rusty. I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it. The food quality is slightly above most of the dim sum places, but also bear in mind the hit-or-miss service you'll get, which the latter can be super frustrating.

We walked into a modern, spacious dining room that felt much larger than it appeared from the outside, making it a comfortable place for both small groups and larger gatherings. The room had a polished, contemporary energy with a layout that accommodated the steady flow of diners, and even though it was consistently busy, the operation ran efficiently and the atmosphere stayed lively without feeling chaotic. The soup dumplings are the clear highlight and are the reason we would recommend coming here. We ordered a few baskets and found the wrappers thin enough to hold a generous amount of rich, flavorful broth without falling apart, and the fillings well seasoned. The classic pork soup dumplings were a must-order, while the pork and crab version was another standout if we were looking for something with a little more richness. Beyond the dumplings, the menu had plenty of other Shanghainese favorites, including beef noodle soup, pan-fried pork buns, scallion pancakes, fried rice, and a variety of appetizers that made it easy to share several dishes. Each plate arrived hot and well assembled, and the consistency across the menu gave us confidence in ordering beyond the signature item. Despite how popular the restaurant is, the wait was well managed. We joined the waitlist digitally before being seated, and tables turned over fairly quickly. Once seated, the food came out at a steady pace, making it a good option even during busy lunch or dinner hours. The staff moved through the room with efficiency, and the pacing of the meal kept the flow smooth without feeling rushed. Overall, Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings lives up to its reputation. The soup dumplings are some of the best we have had, and the extensive menu makes it worth ordering beyond just the signature dish. The mango sago offered a lighter, refreshing contrast to the richer dim sum items. The food comes out hot, and the cart service adds to the traditional dim sum atmosphere, keeping the meal interactive and engaging as dishes pass by. One thing we appreciated about Royal Queen is the overall variety. It is the type of place where everyone can find something they enjoy because the menu covers steamed items, fried dishes, noodles, meats, and desserts. The portions are also better suited for sharing, so it works well when coming with a group and ordering multiple dishes for the table. The service style is fast-paced and typical of a busy dim sum restaurant. The carts come around frequently, so dishes can arrive quickly once you are seated. Since the restaurant is large and often used for events, the dining room can feel busy and crowded during peak hours. Finding the entrance can also be a little confusing since it is located inside the mall rather than directly from the street. Royal Queen is a solid option for traditional dim sum in Flushing. The combination of the large selection, cart service, and spacious banquet-style setting makes it a good choice for group meals or anyone looking for a classic dim sum experience. It may not be the most intimate restaurant, but it delivers the full dim sum atmosphere with plenty of choices.

We decided to try last minute, we have a group of 30ppl, takes about 3-4 big tables They took our reservation last minute. Our family ordered a lot. The only one we kinda disappointed was their steam range chicken, the inside still kinda pinkish raw. The manager said it's how they cook it. He was willing to change a new chicken dish for us. We didn't even know if he ended charge us for it. Overall is ok. Portion is huge.

First time at Juqi - I've seen their location in Manhattan and was always curious about it…read more Although, when looking it up I do remember always thinking "whoa, it's kinda pricey..." Well, I know why now AND I can tell you I would still come again. First - the place is very traditional Chinese style and very spacious inside. We were seated quick and didn't need a reservation or anything as TBH bf and I came to Flushing to get Dim sum...to find out that our dim sum spot is GONE!! (this is another story) Anyways - there's a digital menu so you can browse and also see straight up how much everything would cost. The staff are also very helpful if you need any assistance esp if you don't speak or read Chinese. Anyways - Juqi is known for their peking duck so we ordered the half duck set. Which also with the leftover pieces or bones (or something) they will ask if you want to fry them or make into a soup. We choose fried (well I would preferred the soup but..haha next time), seafood fried rice, soy sauce chicken, Chinese vegetable and beef with green peppers. All the food came out pretty quick! The duck came out and the server showed us how to properly wrap it up to eat. The duck was tender and skin was soo crispy. It wasn't heavy at all. The soy sauce chicken was properly seasoned and it came with a sweet chili sauce and a ginger oil sauce, both was great. But not needed but that's also preference. The beef and green peppers were so well balanced and beef was soo tender and soft, not dry over overcooked at all. The Chinese vegetable was very simple but crispy (not overly cooked) and the portion was bigger than I thought. Lastly and my favorite dish was the seafood fried rice. It doesn't looked seasoned and even plain but the taste is very clean, simple and elegant . Meaning it's fried rice but it's not greasy from the usual. The taste held well over the next 3 days (leftovers) and I can say that it still tasted as good as the day we ordered it. We had leftovers and I was able to enjoy them for lunch on a work day!!! Win! So yeah it might seem pricey for the food but I think it's worth it. It's the quality of the food and it's deff there. They ensure that the food stands out on it's own without having to cover it all up in heavy sauce or seasoning.
