Went here for dim sum on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get a table for 7 pretty easily. They have dim sum carts until about 2:30-3 pm. I liked that they put a lot of shrimp in the shrimp dumpling. I wish the turnip cake was pan fried a little bit more so it would be crispier. I appreciated the wide variety of dim sum that they had. Overall, I would say the dim sum was pretty standard and tasty. Wouldn't say it's the most amazing dim sum I've ever had but definitely satisfied my dim sum cravings!

Such a happy accident to find this spot. Was looking for the food hall but walked in to the New World Mall instead. Bottom floor has a couple of food stalls. Second is a grocery store. More food on the third I think. Royal Queen is the top billing. I haven't been to a legit Dim Sum place in some time. Starving though and the idea of having food immediately was appealing. Man. Look at the selection. Everything hot and fresh. I had the rice paper wrapped donut for the first time ever and honestly, what's up with that?! Definitely give it a try if you like the Taiwanese donut. There was dessert as well. Other typical dishes available. You can also order off the menu if you prefer bigger dishes. Not the cleanest place (our table cloth wasn't changed out) and not the best service but the food was really good and affordable. Definitely beats out other Chinatowns.

Was here for a wedding. They had an amazing selection for seafood. This place is located on the 3rd floor (top floor) of the mall. Staffs were friendly, they spoke Cantonese and Mandarin. We took the escalator to the top floor. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5

Royal Queen has been around for almost a decade now and it's at the 3rd floor of the New World Mall. It boasts a grandiose venue and the ceilings are extremely tall filled with chandeliers. The restaurant is a dim sum spot in the morning, a restaurant at night and a space for gatherings like weddings, galas and other events. Despite the size, shape and scale, the restaurant is still quite tacky with its service and is almost what you would expect when entering some local restaurants in the area. Taste: 4/5 Service: 2.5/5 - the aunties pushing the carts will ambush and rush you, becoming overwhelming very quickly Ambiance: 3.5/5 Value for money: 4/5 At the end of the day, the food is quite good and if you're used to rushed service, this place is quite nice!

I love Chinese food, but this is my first Banquet experience & it didnt dissapoint! 10 course meal and every thing came out fresh, hot & delicious. I'm used to eating chinese food family style, but for for the banquet dishes comes one dish at a time with the rice & noodles coming almost at the end. The good thing is the dont clear prior dishes & instead transfer it to smaller plates so we have the option of finishing a dish instead of it going to waste. Waiters are also nice & patient compares to the usual Chinese. Its a big place, good for event & get togethers. Price is fair & paid parking available around the area, but subway is best option i think. Highly recommend & planning to come back.

Ambiance (5/5): The restaurant is located in the New World Mall, 3rd fl with the dining area located inside a HUGE banquet hall. So the décor is decorated for the purpose and the facilities are very clean, including the bathrooms. The tables are spaced far apart so it doesn't feel crammed and there are a million dining tables. I have a hard time believing that it could be at 100% capacity if they tried. Service (5/5): Agree with other reviews that knowing Mandarin is pretty necessary to communicate certain needs. However, if you are going for dimsum, you can easily just point to the dishes that you want. It may take some time to get someone's attention but they are quick to fetch whatever you need. There's some stations in the main dining area where they cook the food in front of you! Food (4/5): The dishes vary on taste and portions. We had tried probably close to 15+ dishes and 80% of them were authentic to taste/quality/portions. My favorite might be their egg tarts which were freshly baked, crunchy, and not too sweet. We had the chicken feet, shumai, steamed rice rolls, steamed rice in bamboo leaves, tofu rolls, spare ribs, short ribs, fried dough, fried buns with black sesame, bbq pork buns, pork dumplings, steamed custard buns, dumpling w chives/shrimp, steamed tofu. For our table of 7 people, our bill came out to $33/p with tip included. Stuffed to the max! Will definitely come back.

Anyone has the dim sum menu with prices?

Would anyone recommend dim sum for two? Has anyone tried this? What does the total come out to for two usually? Thanks!

No I do not recommend here...dimsum for two should usually be around 40

    Is there free parking?

There is no free parking. By the way, this place is glitzy but the service and food is pretty horrible. Go somewhere else.

I have so many reasons to believe that Emperor is truly the reincarnation of the restaurant...just a little rusty. I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it. The food quality is slightly above most of the dim sum places, but also bear in mind the hit-or-miss service you'll get, which the latter can be super frustrating.

For dim sum, the carts are out and about with freshly steamed dishes. The cart ladies are so efficient. They will show you what they have and then push additional dishes on you to try. They are also motherly, urging you in Chinese to eat the food while the food is hot and not let it sit. They are sharp eyed, looking for diners who express interest in the dishes in their carts. It is a crowded, noisy, and wonderful place. You eat, look for dishes that catch your eye, and then eat some more. You also get to watch all the other diners enjoying food with their family and friends. For dinner, it was always done family style. We usually order lobster and shrimp dishes, as it is a seafood restaurant. However, all their other dishes are really good, so it is hard to say what is a favorite dish. Anyway, I encourage my friends to come here. I highly recommend Asian Jewels for the terrific food, great staff, and atmosphere.

Honestly, these are the reasons that sets Crown One apart from most of the other Cantonese restaurants. As mentioned, the food here is solid, but it does have some ups and downs. Some of the better dishes I had include Sautéed Conch w/ Fried Milk, Boneless Chicken w/ Ham & Chinese Broccoli, Salt & Pepper Fried Calamari, Preserved Meat & Cauliflower, and Beef Pan Fried Noodle. The dim sum overall is decent and priced reasonably. I have been here for dim sum, small meals, as well as large banquets. I have never left here wow'ed by the food, but also never left unsatisfied.
