One of the best places to grab a quick bite. I've gone to earls on two separate occasions and both times were spectacular. The restaurant has a great open layout and great quick service. The waitress and hostess were super nice and inviting. The food for both occasions was phenomenal. I recommend the ahi tuna poke salad, but if I'm the mood for a burger that was excellent too. They offer a variety of well balanced cocktails, mocktails and beers. Our group certainly enjoy. Also you certainly cannot forget dessert! The restaurant was full of bussers but only one waiter. You might think he was busy with lots of tables, but NO. There were only 4 tables. Yikes. My party of 5 arrived in Denver earlier that day and decided to try a restaurant near our hotel for Denver restaurant week. This place was in walking distance and the menu sounded pretty good. How wrong were we. I started with the individual street corn and avocado dip. It literally was just avocado, but mashed to look like guacamole. It had no flavor! No salt, no lime; just dusted with some cotija and a slice of pickled onion. Very unsatisfying and left much to be desired. Next up was the tortellini, which, on par with the appetizer, also lacked salt. It was a completely flavorless dish, and on top of that, the kitchen forgot my chicken. When it did come out 20 mins later (after everyone else had finished their entrees), it was so dry and inedible. One of my friends got the salmon with feta caper aioli and mentioned the rice was very undercooked. I finished with the mini sticky toffee chocolate pudding, which was somehow dry and not moist like a cake should be. For these pretty reasonably small portions which should've been coursed out faster, our dinner ran 2.5 hours long. Service was incredibly inattentive; it was hard to flag down a waiter even for water. Overall, wouldn't recommend this place. My group tried a number of other restaurants in the area during our stay, which were a lot of satisfying than this experience. read more

What I love: We always have wonderful service and an enjoyable night. Drinks are made well. I had a refreshing ranch water and my husband had the dirty martini. Tuna tacos are my favorite appetizer. The mango and flavors just mix well. Besides the construction mess in front, the ambiance inside is nice. What I wish: We ordered the steak and sushi plate. One 6oz and one 9oz. I feel like the 6oz were scraps of extra meat and cooked to medium well. Both were ordered medium rare but I was pretty jealous. I had the Happy Hour Petite Steak Frites (asked for the frites to be truffle). I am not a big person or big eater. The proportion size was the absolute best I have ever had at a restaurant! This fun ambient brunch, lunch and dinner restaurant is certainly worth a try in the heart of 16th street mall. We were seated outside and immediately we were given our waters and asked for our summery cocktails. I told our server about a difficult allergy and he came right out with an allergen menu. Unfortunately it did not have my specific allergy so he brought out someone more informed on the menu and ingredients. This waitress or potentially manager was so fantastic and provided insights to the menu, she even let me do free add ons. Unfortunately being outside and all I was stung by a wasp. This was 100% out of anyone's control. Immediately I was helped with this small problem and the female server was so accommodating and helpful. She offered us the entire meal comped. We declined as that was not the restaurants fault. She then offered to comp our drinks to which we accepted. We ordered another assuming these would be comped. Which again we were so grateful! The food came out and it was so light and fresh. I was very happy with my meal. My partner enjoyed his as well but said he would order something else next time. The only thing brining this experience down one star was that neither drinks were comped. We would not expect them to as that is something so out of their control we just probably would not have ordered another round as our bill was very expensive. Hadn't been to Earl's in a while and was pleasantly surprised. Earl's has upgraded their menu to add many new options they dub "New & Notable". My friend and I tried the Wagyu Beef Oshi Press to start which had a great truffle soy glaze and perfectly torched beef. I continued on their appetizer menu and tried their jumbo lump crab cake which was full of flavor and had a nice fennel salad on top. It comes with one as an appetizer but you can get more as an entree. We decided to indulge and split the truffle fries which was a great pairing with the white truffle aioli. Second visit to Earls downtown this year. It is a solid choice for a good meal. I would reinforce the word good, but not great. My wife had the burger and I had the carnitas tacos. The burger was "tough" using my wife's choice of words. I took a bite and agreed. It was flavorful but tasted as if it came to the restaurant as a pressed patty, not made with all the imperfections and freshness done in the kitchen before your order. The tacos were good, a significant helping of slaw made them larger than the steak on the tacos themselves. The chips were nice to have but didn't taste as fresh as you'd get elsewhere. The food looked great, but the salmon was over seasoned and over cooked, pesto sauce (which is so simple to make?) was also over seasoned and not even edible. Even with the construction still going with 16th street Earls is a pleasant atmosphere with great service a good food, our server and hostess were both very professional and friendly, we ordered the truffle fries and chicken tenders for an appetizer and we both had the Ahi Poke Bowl. Food was great, the fries had a great garlic dipping sauce that was delicious, the chicken tenders were crispy on the outside and juicy tender on the inside. The poke bowl was absolutely delicious and was pleasantly surprised, the tuna was perfect along with the mix of vegetables and mango. Definitely will be back for this dish, can't wait for summer time and the completion of the 16th street mall and when Earl opens up their top patio, hard not to love Denver! read more

We stopped in here for lunch with my in-laws after checking out the Denver Home Show at the convention center. The street in front of Earl's is shut down for renovations, and that has made an impact! Only one small section of this previously bustling restaurant was open, and only one server. She was hustling, though! Did a great job dealing with everyone, greeting, seating, serving, bussing... even getting impromptu drink orders as she walked by (margarita is ON POINT, btw!). The food was really good, too! Burgers, fries, and chicken tacos for our group. I didn't have high hopes, considering the lack of staff and customers, but they're rocking it! The flavor of the meat was awful, not cooked to what I ordered and all together not enjoyable. I really wanted this to be a good experience. The food was absolutely amazing, the staff was warm, attentive, and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed--perfect for a night out. Highly recommend starting with the Charred Corn + Avocado Dip--it had just the right amount of heat and a ton of flavor. For the main course we had the Truffle Tortellini and it was amazing. For dessert we had the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake which had THE perfect caramelized top. My daughter had the Bourbon Pecan Pie which she described as "the taste of fall in a dessert." Date of service was the evening of June 5. While the ambience and service were outstanding, the food was very poor. The hamburger we got was smaller than the bun it was in. Seemed like it was maybe just a frozen puck taken out of the freezer. The rice in the sushi was way overcooked, the sushi roll when cut up just looked like a coagulated disc of white gelatin. And the fried chicken sandwich, like the hamburger, was smaller than the bun. About half the size. Smallest fried chicken sandwich I've ever seen. The Szechuan shrimp dumplings were outstanding and the special cocktails were awesome. Very unique and tasty! When we were asked how the meal was, and described it to the manager, she did remove two of our four dinners from the bill, which was appreciated. But we will not be back. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl which was delicious. I highly recommend it. It was a mix of light spice and delicate sweetness. It had mango, tuna, cucumbers, jasmine rice and radishes. Heavenly. Their calamari were straight sticks instead of the usual rings. The truffle fries were all hard and crispy, think McD's fries, well-done. Their sauces were odd, creamy deals that were also not good. Our server was a young fella, super nice and easy to talk to, but not efficient. We were seated right next to the bar so we could watch the struggle bus in real time. TLDR chicken was okay, toffee pudding was great. Ordered the truffle parmesan chicken. It was... okay. Def not worth 30 bucks. Let's break it down. (1) The arugula salad was outstanding. Whatever dressing they used - it killed. (2) Mushroom risotto was pretty good, although I don't think they used a typical risotto rice like arborio. No big deal. (3) Asparagus pieces were unnecessary. They could honestly just take them out and the dish wouldn't lose anything. (4) Chicken had a decent crunch, but was lukewarm, and I can't say it had much flavor, if at all. Like, they probably could've just used store-bought seasoning and gotten more flavor. I think it'd also be better if they pounded/flattened the chicken more, and tried using panko. They also stacked the two breasts, which looks cool, but I think it's a bad call because, inevitably, all sides of the breasts will soften except the side on the very top, because they all have restricted air exposure for moisture to escape. I also don't know why they bother with two breasts; I feel like one is enough. My dad got the spicy shrimp pizza. He said it was okay, but not spicy at all. I think the chefs may have legitimately forgotten to season our entrees. For dessert, I got the toffee pudding, and my dad got the vanilla cheesecake. We both completely cleaned our plates. Loved the tuiles too. My main criticism is that I couldn't really enjoy the caramel because it was all drizzled on the bottom the plate. Sure it looks pretty, but I'm more about practicality. Also, $13 for 5 bites worth of cheesecake? Really? Waited 15-20 mins for food. Waitresses were really nice, but not very cohesive. One of them would ask us a question, then another one would ask the same question a few mins later, like have you guys gotten your water yet. Ambience was dimmed and fancy. 3.5 stars read more

We had a very nice brunch at Earls today. It was Lobster and Shrimp omelette for me and a Chicken and Waffles for the man. Both are really good. The eggs were fluffy. The amount of Lobster and Shrimp in the omelette was more than adequate. It came hot and beautifully plated. The staff were great. From the lady who welcomed us to our waiter. All top notch! Food was tasty and fresh. No long wait. Patio was very popular today since it was warm. Too warm almost. I say this about 16th St. No matter what you see around you today change is coming. The city is "fixing" 16th St. They're beginning at the Southern part of this iconic street. I read somewhere that one of the changes will be the bus that takes everyone for free to the end of the street will be running in the middle instead of the usual. Makes sense. Safety first. We sat on the patio which faces 16th St. Pretty darn interesting people watching. No one bothered us. At all. 16th St.- it's a pretty interesting part of Denver. Even with lunch is not cheap either. I was here for lunch. The place look classy. I order the stack burger. It is a double patty with habanero Jack cheese. The burger was well cook. All the edge is burn end crispy. It is the best part. The side is your choice. I was surprised that I can substitute with a clam chowder. It is not the regular clam that you normally get.
