The Hot and Sour Soup is my favorite thing on their menu. This was exactly what I was craving when I came in and I was so happy with its super flavorful taste. To make it even better, it was a gloomy and cold day so it was the perfect dish to warm up your body with. We also ordered the beef roll and the pork and cabbage steamed dumplings which were really good as well. I love their portion sizes which are all shareable and you can try many different things. For the price, quality, and taste of the food, I'd say it was all a great experience. There's a large enough parking lot in the back of the building which is shared with other businesses but we had no trouble finding a spot. read more

We got their beef noodle soup, pan fried noodles, pork soup dumplings, spicy pork wontons, cold sesame noodles. Their cold seasame noodle didnt have much flavor and pan fried noodles were okay. I love beef noodle soup but this is the worst i've ever had. It tasted like peking duck skin water. But, their spicy wontons made up for it. If you come here, just stick to the dumplings. read more

Flavor was lacking so we had to eat it with some soy sauce and chili. 0 out of 5 Pan friend park and cabbage: this was good taste like homemade. The filling could have been more but taste was there at least. 4 out of 5 Total cost was $100 something for all this food for 3 people. It wasn't cheap and I won't be coming back just because the flavor was not what I was hoping for. And for the price I could have gone to DTF or somewhere else. Again there's are my own options other people really enjoyed it here. Come and try if you like and maybe I the day I went was an off day for them. Came in for lunch recently after a hike nearby. Love the spacious parking spots. Place was pretty full but we were coming in near the end of the lunch hour. Service wasn't bad at all. Only two wait staff and there were only two empty tables. They make it work. Kudos to the kitchen staff who made some of the food with less oil and less salt. Shanghai fried rice cakes - really good. Portion is a bit small though Stir fried vermicelli with pork - I didn't try any of this but it was also a hit House special beef noodle soup - a bit too much pepper in the broth but really tasty. $60 for mediocre food and service ruined the experience here and I would not suggest it nor return again. The food used to be tasty, so we ordered with memories in mind. We ordered cucumbers, green onion pancakes, spicy pork wontons, pan fried dumplings, and pan fried buns. While the cucumbers were fresh and crunchy, the rest of the items were soggy, greasy, and lacked the crunch and texture that makes the dishes enjoyable. Anything pan fried should have a nice thin crisp at the bottom, and even though it's fried, it shouldn't leave you feeling queasy. There are many other delicious places that serve this cuisine, and Noodle House shouldn't be an option. read more

Yummy yummy hole in the wall! I'm always looking for a good dumpling joint. Dumplings are one of my comfort foods, and Dumpling House executes well. The shrimp and egg dumplings are super delicious, and perfect for pescatarian dumpling-lovers! They have a good balance of shrimp and egg. They were also pan-fried very well with no burnt edges! The XLB was good as well. My favorite dish was probably the green beans. They had such excellent flavor. My friends and I scarfed that dish down the quickest. We also got a free green onion pancake with our Yelp check-in! I have high standards for chong you bing because I grew up with my grandma making it every day. There hasn't been one thing on the menu that I haven't liked. Unlike most places after the pandemic started, this place has kept up the quality of their ingredients and the taste of their food. This place has been around for as long as I can remember and it would suck for it to close down due to the recent lockdown/quarantine orders. Decided to order take-out to support. The pan fried pork dumplings and xiao long bao were very good, even as take-out. Reheated the beef noodle soup in a pot and added the noodles. Broth was rich with large chunks of beef but was way too spicy for me (but I also can't hang). Went with the house special fried noodles and the noodles weren't as chewy as I preferred but had good flavor nonetheless. Might've been better heated up. Overall, a decent establishment in an area saturated with the dumpling/noodle restaurants like Din Tai Fung and 101 Noodle Express. Good alternative for when I'm too lazy to make the drive to Mr. Dragon. read more

Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, Xiao Long bao, sautéed green beans, veggie egg rolls, fried rice, etc. I personally can't handle spicy food but majority of the food aren't too bad. They just look super spicy but it's mild unless you eat a red pepper. The Xiao long bao needs to be eaten right away or else it goes dry and don't forget the vinegar. First time at The Dumpling House and a wonderful experience! The staff was accommodating and friendly. It's a small clean restaurant and not an empty table. Many to-go orders were made. You get a nice serving of dumplings, approx 10, and each dumpling a mouthful. The popcorn chicken appetizer was tasty- I recommend it. The coat is anywhere from $11-$12 for an order of dumplings. I love this place so much! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because they don't have a bathroom for customers -- kind of crazy. The food is absolutely delicious. Each roll comes with just 6 tiny pieces and they go for 12-13 dollars. Beef roll pancakes 4/5: they're pretty good, but I prefer more sauce inside the pancake. It was a bit dry without it, but others said it was a good amount. I do think it's pricy for the amount. Pecking duck pancake 1/5: I would never order this again. The duck was sour, dry, and tough. It reminded me of old thanksgiving turkey. I wouldn't call it pecking duck either. It's more like a soy duck type. For the price, the portion was small too, but because of the taste I don't think that's a bad thing. Pan fried pork dumpling 5/5: the skin is really thick, I can tell it's not everyone's preference, but I like it. It gives the dumplings a nice chew. It's almost like eating thick noodles with a bite of meat. I think the sauce it comes with pairs really well. I think it's a vinegar based sauce. Would I come again? This place is pretty decent for a no-wait, close-by dumpling restaurant. I still prefer the food from places in the heart of SGV like Long Xing Ji. Price is a bit better too. Service was fast, the food was hot and the atmosphere was relaxed. I've driven by this place for years and finally found the time to try it. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings, the steamed buns and the hot and spicy chow mein. Everything was hot and packed full of flavor when we got it. The dumplings were made with a little too much dough so they were a bit chewy and too big, but the soup and filling was great. It said I'm here that they closed at 9:30 on Tuesday's, but when we arrived at 8:30 they told us we'd have to hurry because they closed at 9:00. I get it, when it's slow it's nice to close early and we were happy to be seated. I was a little worried because usually when staff are rushing to go home the quality goes down. Luckily I was only disappointed by the juicy pork dumplings... the wrapper was over cooked so it was very mushy and the flavor to me was off. The pan fried dumplings are always a favorite of mine when I go places, and these were mediocre. I wasn't disappointed, it was exactly what I was expecting,.. underwhelming but not a bad price for a good amount of food. My favorite two things in the meal was the basic shrimp fried rice (can't go wrong with rice) and the pork wontons in spicy sauce. The sauce was good, not too much heat and the flavor or the rolling in this dish was my favorite. The two working were friendly enough and even gave my brother and I a free iced green tea. I love this place!! It's my boyfriend and my new favorite spot. The dumplings are flavorful and full of juices, but be careful if it says spicy it's spicy!! But highly recommend. We were seated fast and they took our order as soon as we were done putting it in, the staff was kind and repeated our order back making sure she knew what we wanted. The shop itself is a little small but it's a hidden gem so you can't be upset. May get a little cold in the establishment but nothing a sweater won't fix. They play music while you eat as well. This is my FAVORITE place to get dumplings! We no longer live in Arcadia, but when ever we are in the area we have to stop here and get some food. The must have every time we go are the rice cakes, sautéed green beans, and the juicy pork dumplings. Trust me make sure you check all of those on your list! The rice cakes are full of yummy meat ans veggies and cookies to chewy perfection. The green beans are always crisp and saucy. But the main attraction is always the juicy pork dumplings! We also get the juicy crab and pork dumplings too. I can't fully tell a difference between the two but they are both delicious and juicy. I would eat there multiple times a visit too. I made a personal resolution that 2019 would be "the year of the dumpling". I want to learn more about and find the best dumplings in the SGV. One of my Yelp friends, Anna H., recommended that I give the Dumpling House a try, so we went here for dinner a couple weeks ago on a cold, blustery evening. SERVICE: Service was very lack-luster and robotic. No greeting, no discussion of the menu or what we wanted, just handed a couple menus, the order sheet, and a pen to mark down our order. When we asked for clarification on some of the items, the responses were barely audible and not very clear. I watched and this was a consistent theme throughout the evening with all of the customers. FOOD: I thought the food was pretty tasty, although the dumplings we ordered were served dry, no dipping sauce. There is a huge variety of dumplings on the menu and we probably tried the most ordinary type, Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. We also ordered the Shrimp Wontons in Spicy Sauce (is this technically a dumpling?). The other food we ordered, Beef Broccoli and the Combination Fried Rice, was also tasty. We also received a free Green-Onion Pancake with our Yelp check-in. My wife really liked it and I thought it was pretty good too...and I hate onions! Another happy day for my stomach as Dumpling House is open for indoor dining. We went a bit crazy on ordering. Got four dishes for two of us. To start with, we got our favorite hot and sour soup. This soup was cooked to perfection with the right amount of vinegar and hot sauce. We also missed the house pancake so much, so we got one order of the pancake by itself and a pan fried pancake with shredded pork and vegetables. The pan fried pancake was so tasty and yummy. Even though we know we had enough for lunch, we haven't had their egg plant with pork dish for awhile( a year and a half), we also ordered this dish to stuff ourselves for lunch. We were going to order their pot stickers, buy we couldn't eat anymore. So we planned to come back on Saturday ( 3/20/2021) to try their dumpling and xiao long Bao ( soup dumpling). Horrible experience at this restaurant. First of all, upon entering, the waiters were looking at us strangely as if we were some kind of aliens. No greetings no nothing. Second, the food was really... meh and for the price it's actually not worth it. I know restaurants in Arcadia can be quite pricey but there are some places where you can get better food for almost the same prices, in my opinion. And last but not least, service was poor and inattentive. We ordered some noodles to go but they never brought it out to our table, we had finished eating and paid already and they even came back to pick up the bill but totally forgot our order. We had to personally go to the counter and ask if it was ready. I would gladly be back to a restaurant for spot on service and awesome food even if it was a little pricier.
