We ended up here as a final choice, and frankly not wanting to look any longer, but it ended up being a very good choice... I can tell you, we caught this place during a lull, which sometimes is a blessing and other is a curse, this time I think it was truly a great blessing. The service was so super friendly and patient with us, since this was our first time ever here. The service was also spot on, making sure we were good on everything from condiments to drinks. The food is truly what surprised us. I had their crab cakes, the best I have had in a very long time. My wife had their barbecue quesadillas (or something of that ilk) and that was definitely the order to have. The atmosphere is sports bar, but they had two separate dining areas that keep you away from much of the "action". We never really had a problem with sound or noise. The actual place is truly appealing, not only curb appeal but inside as well. Their bar dominates the place, but everything that orbits is placed perfectly. I came to Dub's for some evening appetizers around 9pm. It's a typical sports bar location complete with several TVs playing football. Although many options looked good on the menu, I was debating between pork belly sliders and the pork belly poutine. I ended up going with the poutine. I would say that they were more like regular cheese fries rather than poutine, as there was barely any gravy on top of the fries. The pork belly was sparse as well, and the pieces were very small. The plate also came with a side of ranch dressing. I would have preferred they supply extra gravy instead. Overall, the fries were good and satisfied a nighttime food craving, but they definitely should not describe them as poutine. Cheese fries would be a more accurate description. read more

I will give them only a 4* only because we didn't eat here. Though the food dishes we watched go across the room looked delicious..... so perhaps next time. The place was busy when we got there... but not full. We sat at the bar and between the locals and tourist .... Lexi handled everyone with a friendly smile. Pretty chill spot to have some cocktails and watch the braves win. The spicy jalapeño marg was on point, capsaicin is addictive frfr. The fries had two wonky dipping sauces that were interesting, mayo and tarragon, ketchup and Sriracha, I think. Overall big win. read more

I would only give this place 1 star except that the food is really good. However...we went there on a Wednesday around 3:30 pm for an early dinner. The place had very few customers. We were waiting to be seated when a server said loudly to the hostess "if people keep coming in, they're just going to have to wait" in a rude tone. Once seated we waited for a period of time before our server came to get drink orders, just before we were ready to walk out. The food came out pretty quickly and it was delicious but...our server never came back to see if we needed anything. I had to go to the bar myself to get a refill. Therefore I'm conflicted. Hopefully it was a bad day for servers but still, we did not feel welcome or taken care of. I'm a Savannah resident and bring visitors to river street very often. We got a standard burger that tasted like the entire salt hawker had been poured on the burger to the point we couldn't eat it (we split) but because we took a bite out of it she basically said F.U. We stopped in Dub's for a quick bite to eat before going on the River Boat Tour. There was 10 of us in our group. Our server didn't even hesitate to accommodate us with drink orders first, appetizers, and meals. I am a Moscow Mule snob, and they did not disappoint with their signature Jack Apple Mule. There's no beating around the bush with this review. We stopped in around 2-3pm and it was hardly busy (the bar was decently packed but the dining area was under-full). We had two servers and saw them maybe twice in about an hour and a half - when we ordered and then when we paid. Not only did we wait almost over an hour to pay, but 12 people were waiting at the door for about 15 minutes with the hostess nowhere to be found. Plus, on top of this, we watched a gentlemen come out of the kitchen and enter the restroom with his apron on. The food was your typical pub food, nothing to write home about. My and daughter-in-law were visiting over the holidays and we thought a trip downtown to see the new River Side expansion was a good day trip. We had finished our walk through the area when my son suggested to try Dub's as he enjoys pub food and the menu outside looked good. We were seated and looked over the menu and drink selections. The server took our drink orders in which my son and I went for the Terrapin Luau Pog IPA and our wives ordered some cocktails. After a while the server brought our drinks and we were set to order, we ordered the Buffalo Blue Chips as an appetizer for the table and I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich substituting a side salad for the fries and Jo (my wife) had the Fish and Chips). Then the wait began as we soon noticed that there was one server who seemed to be doing everything for the entire dining area and a bartender with maybe two customers at the bar. It took quite a while for the food to come and my beer glass as our server buzzed around trying to keep everyone as happy as possible. The Buffalo Blue Chips were tasty and we enjoyed them. My wife's fish and chips and my Buffalo chicken sandwich were good but nothing exceptional. Food and Beverage 3.5 They have a good beer selection, but you have to ask for glass that took a while. The mixed drinks were OK, not very potent or even lacking. The appetizer was tasty with the bacon as a protein. The entrees did not stand out. Service 2 Lacking but not the fault of the server as he was overwhelmed. Atmosphere 3.5 Nice clean, Pub type atmosphere Price 2 Not worth the up charge that you get for being in the River Street area especially when considering the quality of the offerings. OA maybe a 3 I won't be back as there are better places in Savannah to spend my money. read more

Four score and two hours ago, I stumbled upon Dub's eatery in the fine town of Savannah, Georgia. I was dumb founded by the elegant ambiance and exceptional attention to interior design. Let me tell you the masonry work in this place was uncanny. Naturally, I was intrigued; I was sucked in by the mystery. I had no choice but to enter thy restaurant. Much like the casino in the tale of Pearcy Jackson, I was sucked in. My friends and I secured a most excellent table in the midst of the action -- GOLY G! It was shaping up to be a day for the history books. With my delicate eyes, I finely examined thy gorgeous menu, and I selected thy most scrumptious line up of elegant course items. My mates and I patiently awaited our food and COCKtails. Enjoying the most excellent and gorgeous company of my friends as I always do. Although, something felt out of place we plundered onwards, testing the depths of this humble establishment. We were commited to thy place. How we were wrong. SWINDLED, CHEATED, BETRAYED -- these are the words that come to mind when I hear the name Dub's. After hours of patience, we were lucky to secure but a measly water. Do not think you're in a sports bar with all the televisions. They have no clue on tuning in games for March Madness. They don't have any volume for you to hear any game. They have closed caption on screens where you can't see the game. Food is good but just don't pretend to be a sports bar. read more

This is a chill little sports bar located right on the river that stays open relatively late for being on River Street. Unfortunately, I didn't have the food here when I visited this bar. We had already eaten dinner. However, I saw other patron's food (specifically the burgers) and I would have loved to try something on their food menu. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is pretty friendly here. Both of our bartenders were students from Georgia Southern about an hour away. They were very sweet and personable. And although we only played some ping-pong and had a few beers and shots during our visit, we were treated like regular guests at this establishment. I would definitely come back here. read more

So, to start this appropriately rated review, we stood at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes before anyone noticed us. It wasn't busy, either. After being seated, our server, Cameron, got us what we wanted. A cocktail from the bar and a bottled beer. This took about 10 minutes. After this, we ordered our food, that took about 35 minutes. During this time, our server did not stop by our table once. We got our food, of which was just under par. Both of us got burgers, and they were good. The bun was dense but soft and didn't fall apart. The fries were not crispy. One of us ordered loaded fries, which our server said was an option and didn't mention an up charge of 2.00 to the tab. Oh well. On the corner of the plate there were pickled green tomato wedges that were disgusting. Cameron did not come back to our table but one more time aside from the check. She was rude when she gave that to us, too. She was walking by and put it on the table without saying a word. The tab almost fell off the table too. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Really enjoyed the Chicken Skins appetizer. We stopped in just for a small bite of something so I can't really speak on a lot. The other girls I was with had a lot of fries/loaded fries and did not like that there was a "sweet taste" to the fries and left a lot uneaten. Would try again if only for the skins. read more

Nice location and great sports bar.. unfortunately, it lacked in a creative menu. Had the steak and cheese sandwich with au jus and side salad. Salad was amazing while the sandwich lacked flavor and was under the lap a little too long. Dry and tasteless. Draft selection was great but the cocktails were not very impressive. A great sports bar should at least know the games going on and surprised that the final 4 weren't on most of the TVs. You can def find better places on the river with better food selection. read more

I am so disappointed by this pub/restaurant in the new section of river street. From the outside it seemed so appealing and even the size of the place was good. This all ended with the food which was just plain horrible. The chicken on the chicken sandwich was dry as a piece of cardboard and tasted the same. The french fries were literally inedible. Once again like dry cardboard with no potato taste whatsoever. The pulled chicken salad was dry and flavorless and no amount of the two dressings I tried began to help salvage it. I woke up on a beautiful Savannah morning with the craving for bloody mary's. Thanks to Yelp I was able to find a few great spots. This was #1 on my list ( but Cotton Exchange down the street was my boyfriends #1 since theirs is spicier). This bloody mary was my favorite. It's more on the tangy side which is how I love them. It also came not only with the traditional olive but a huge chunk of mozzarella. I never thought I'd love cheese with my mary. It also boasts infused vodka and a homemade organic mix. We walked into the bar, it wasn't very busy - for 130pm on a Friday and holiday weekend. There was a couple next to us, they hadn't been waited on. Another couple walked up across the bar, the bartender immediately took their order and gave them a drink promptly. My friend ordered a drink, and then the bartender left the bar area, she was gone for a few minutes, and came back with 3 bottles of Bloody Mary mix. My friend still didn't get their drink. The people next to us, who were there before us, didn't have anything in front of them. We needed up leaving and went somewhere else. Not being greeted, given what we ordered - and watching the bartender joke around with the staff was enough for us. We will spend out vacation money elsewhere. read more

This is one of my favorite spots on River Street! Dub's is a casual sports bar with fun games, lots of drink options, and some yummy bar food. We come here a lot to play darts, pool and air hockey! Now don't expect anything fancy, but the menu has a variety of yummy bar food options. Think burgers, chicken fingers, sandwiches- typical pub food. I was tempted by the pulled pork nachos on the menu last time I was here. Y'all- they were legit! They were stacked just right so all the chips were covered in cheese, pork, and pico and topped with jalapenos! Yum!
