Driggs Pizza Parlor was the first stop of an excursion to enjoy Williamsburg. Raj looked at all the slices and then always ends up choosing the French Onion slice that he likes a lot. It has Grana Padano, mozarella, Gruyère and caramelized onion on a white pie. It's a touch sweet but is flavorful. I had a square of the "Square" with tomato sauce, basil, mozzarella and Grana Padano. A garlic knot for $1.50 glistened and looked promising. Sadly, the knot was all bread on the inside with no garlic taste and was a waste of money. The two slices were delicious. Tables with seating is in the back and the one server who took the orders was quiet. There is no restroom here and the entrance has a high step to get in. read more

Driggs Pizza Parlor -- 1 Star Slice Tried: Emily Pork Store slice (Grande mozzarella, Emily's Italian sausage, hot cherry peppers, tomato sauce) I came to Driggs specifically to try the Emily Pork Store slice, since I'm a big fan of Emily's sausage and was excited to see it on the menu. The slice itself was actually pretty good -- the sausage was excellent (no surprise, Emily Pork Store never misses), the peppers added a good kick, and the Grande mozzarella worked well. The toppings carried the slice. Unfortunately, the customer service was terrible, and that's why this is a 1-star review. A guy at the counter -- name sounded like "Gus" -- was incredibly dismissive and acted like I was an inconvenience for simply asking what slices were available. When I asked whether they had the Emily slice available by the slice or only as a whole pie, he gave conflicting answers, ignored me, or responded in a way that made it seem like he couldn't care less. Another staff member said slices were available, but even after that, the guy kept brushing off my questions. I also found that, although they're supposed to open at 11:00 AM, hardly any pizza is ready until about 12:00 noon -- mostly just plain cheese at first. This made it difficult to get the slice I wanted early, and adds to the overall frustrating experience. I spent five minutes trying to get a straight answer about what slices they actually had. The whole interaction felt rude, impatient, and hostile. It soured the entire visit. Good ingredients, decent slice, but miserable service and limited availability early in the day. Let me start by saying, I love the decor and ambiance of this pizza shop. It has a real 1950's parlor vibe, just as their name describes. Very clean, space and pleasant service. Order was taken right away and food came out quickly. I had the French onion slice and I loved it! The caramelized onions are delicious, the flavor is robust. The crust was a little pale for my taste, not toasted or crispy enough. I think my pizza fanatics understand. Haha Also ordered a garlic knot, which is 1 large garlic knot. Instead of multiple small ones. It was ok, it could have had more garlic flavor, which is what I feel about most garlic knots. They did give a side of Mariana, which all places don't do anymore, some make you order it separately, at an extra charge. Mariana tasted like a it came out of a jar (not my fave) And it was cold. Over all, it was a pleasant experience with plenty of specialty slice options. Would stop buy again, if in the area. read more

How much sugar are they going to add to the sauce? I get balancing out the acidity to the tomato sauce, but yikes. I had to throw out the entire pie after once slice. This was unlike any pizza I've had in New York... and not in a good way. Somehow the side marinara and knots dish were totally fine. Pizza was awful. Looked delicious, at least. The first thing about this place I noticed is that you get a really crispy crust on your pizza. I've tried it three times already and all three times the crust was just perfect and exactly what you want in a New York slice. The exact right crunch to softness ratio and that perfect cheetah print burn pattern on the bottom. Secondly, this place compares really well with all the other nearby pizza shops. The pizza isn't as extra as the ones you would find at L'industrie nearby which is admittedly my favorite pizza shop in Williamsburg. But sometimes I get really tired of that style and I want something more no-frills. The slice here is more of a classic no frills New York slice. Out of all the classic slices in Williamsburg, I think this is my favorite beating out all the other classic NY slices nearby. Better than Joe's Pizza, better than Williamsburg Pizza, better than Best Pizza, and better than Rosa's Pizza. just a great combination of all the basics you need for a good New York slice. The service is exactly what you would expect from a New York pizza shop. You walk in, ask for your slice, they shove it in the oven and then put it on a paper plate for you when it's ready. They take card. I do like that they have seating inside in the back and that the whole vibe of the shop is a bit vintage cute and it could be a good place to go catch up with a friend. I don't usually go around reviewing pizza shops, but I really thought this one was extremely underrated and I'm glad that Williamsburg finally has a good classic slice shop. read more

Solid pizza slice joint. They've got cool options like pork store (sausage and chilies) or French onion (caramelized onions, Gruyère). Flavor is good, but the cheese doesn't melt all the way and it's reflected in the dough (a little pale / under as you see in the photo). It feels a little more like a gourmet version of high school pizza (which has its own nostalgia). Good but not anywhere close to the best in neighborhood. BAD PIZZA!!! Unsafe space!!! I bit into my pizza and realize that the dough was not cooked through so I asked them if they could heat it up for me and they said they couldn't because I had already bit into the pizza, so I asked to exchange for a new slice and they said that they don't do that. If they sell you defective pizza, there is a no return, refund or exchange policy - buyer beware. On top of that they took offence that I would claim they sell undercooked pizza so they started cussing me out in spanish not knowing I fully understand spanish. The guy was aggressively pointing is cutting knife at me. I just had to leave. I'm sure they had a bad day and it was 1am but this is unacceptable. I came in during an epic nyc summer downpour and the margarita slice was so good that I got a second one. When I went back yesterday- it was still delicious. Saucy, garlicky, fresh basil-y with a thin crispy crust. I love Joe's - but this is better pizza, and a small family owned place that is new in the neighborhood with delicious flavors and you can enjoy your slice while you're waiting for the bus. read more

If I could, I would give this shop zero stars. I have always came there to get pizza before I go to work or stop by for a small snack and their pizza is fairly good but today I came in and was immediately approached by a Spanish lady with a scar underneath her nose who claims to be the manager. She rudely asked me if I plan on buying something and that the seating area is only for paying customers. I was sitting and waiting for my friend to come so we can have pizza together not even 10 minutes later she approached me again and asked me to leave with no explanation. I was very offended because the tables were dirty and nasty. Staff members cannot wipe it down, the floors had dirty tissue on it and for customers to be sitting in there to eat anyways is disgusting. They shouldn't be getting a A for cleanliness during inspections. To a certain extent, I felt I was being racially, profiled or harassed no other customers were approached besides me. I will not be coming here anymore I do recommend the red pizza shop on Bedford Avenue near the Dunkin' Donuts their pizza is great. read more
