This location is significantly better than the original location on Havemeyer. I say that having been to the original numerous times, and this location 4 times. Pizza here has a much better fermentation - much poofier. Also more generously sized and topped. And service way better. Glad it's in my neighborhood.

It's a really good crust with excellent chew and great blistering, but the sauce and the cheese were a little bland for me. Still very good.

The crust, sauce, and quality toppings were on point, but the real game-changer was their house chili oil. Drizzle it over your pizza and prepare to be blown away! The vibe is classic NYC pizza: casual, grab-and-go, with plenty of indoor space and a covered outdoor area to hang out with friends. Do yourself a favor and get the chili oil on your pizza. The basil in particular was fantastic, and you can really taste the quality of the fresh mozzarella and Parmesan rather than having them disappear into the slice. I tried a square/Sicilian slice with burrata and loved it. It's a little thinner than the Sicilian slices I'm used to, but that actually worked beautifully. The crust still had enough structure and chew, and the burrata added richness without overwhelming everything else. I also had a regular slice with sausage and mushrooms, and the balance was basically perfect. Exactly the right cheese-to-sauce ratio, toppings that tasted fresh instead of piled on for the sake of it, and just the right amount of char. And the crust might have been my favorite part. Crisp and beautifully cooked on the outside, with enough chew and flavor that I actually wanted to keep eating it after the rest of the slice was gone. Honestly, I'm struggling to come up with a criticism. Great ingredients, great balance, great bake. Di Fara absolutely lived up to the reputation for me.

I was greeted by an angel called Lisa, who was very much giving fairy Godmother of Luigi's pizza. I stumble through my order. I'm confused. I'm asking questions. The whole time Lisa is patient. She's sweet. She's funny. Makes me feel right at home. I asked for one slice of Knicks pizza but I wanted pepperoni on there. They said it didn't come with pepperoni, but the owner was sitting there like "you know what since you asked for it we'll do it for you." It's like I was in heaven and was told Ask and you shall receive, we just want you to be happy! Now, I don't know what sort of crack cocaine they put in this Knicks pizza but it had vodka sauce and ricotta, hot honey olive oil and I think a pesto drizzle. Oh my Jesus Christ this was the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. Savory, a lil sweet, saucy. Lisa was right, don't need ranch for this at all. Also loved the white pie. I'm so sad because I had to leave New York the next day but days later I am still thinking about this pizza. I am still thinking about sweet Lisa and just how warm and welcomed I was in the few minutes I spent in this restaurant. I'm still thinking about how delicious this slice was!!! I cannot recommend enough, 10 out of 10 you won't regret it. Tell Lisa the girl who asked for ranch and she responded "that's sacrilegious"sent you. I told Lisa I'd leave a good review and she said "we don't care about no reviews we care about getting you fed". Enough said!

I went in with extremely high expectations after seeing Barstool give it a 9.3, which is an incredibly high score. In my opinion, Dave Portnoy has a particular style of pizza that he prefers, and that definitely influences his ratings. Personally, I would not rate this pizza anywhere near a 9.3, especially considering how many great pizza options there are in Brooklyn. That being said, it is still a good slice and worth trying. I just don't think it quite lives up to the hype or the exceptionally high rating it has received.

Thick, cheesy, saucy, crispy around the edges, and just completely different from a regular slice of pizza. This is the thing I'm coming here for first. Then there are the homemade frozen treats. I've had both the Italian ices and the ice cream, in more flavors than I can even remember at this point, and I genuinely can't tell you which one I like better. Every time I think I've picked a favorite, I try another flavor and change my mind. LOL. There's something very old-school Brooklyn about the whole experience too. It's not trying to be trendy or reinvent itself. It knows exactly what it is, and that's part of why people keep coming back. Give me a Sicilian slice and something frozen afterward and I'm happy.

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We ordered a glass of wine, a beer, an arugula salad, and our main food order. Everything started out fine, and the salad came without a problem. But then we waited. And waited. About 30 minutes after we had ordered, I asked our waiter where our food was. He apologized and admitted that he had forgotten to put the order in. By that point, we had already watched other tables receive their food, including people who had arrived well after us. We continued waiting, and after roughly 40 minutes or more, our food still had not arrived. At that point, the dining experience was already ruined and we decided to leave. Ironically, just as we were getting ready to go, the food finally started coming out. I told them we no longer wanted it. The waiter did apologize again and offered us a pizza to take with us, which I assume was complimentary, but by then we were simply ready to leave. Even paying the bill became unnecessarily drawn out. We were charged the full amount for the salad, beer, and wine. I sat with a $50 bill ready to pay, was handed the check, and then ended up standing around for another five minutes waiting for someone to actually take the money. There was no apology from the person handling the payment. I understand that mistakes happen, and I appreciated that our waiter admitted he had forgotten to place the order. But when a restaurant makes that kind of mistake, the recovery matters. After waiting that long, watching later-arriving customers get served, and then having difficulty simply paying and leaving, an apology and a pizza at the very end didn't really fix the experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I can't say the service lived up to the restaurant's reputation.

I've eaten here, come to the Bushwick Block Party to see Action Bronson perform, and spent enough time around Tiki Disco to associate the place with a particularly inventive, free-spirited period in the neighborhood. The dining area still has that wonderfully idiosyncratic character: exposed beams, communal tables, mismatched details, and an open kitchen turning out genuinely excellent pizza. What impresses me most is how naturally Roberta's became more than a restaurant. Food, music, parties, outdoor spaces, and an extraordinary mix of people all seemed to converge here, giving the place a cultural gravity that could never have been designed by committee. It remains one of those places that instantly takes me back to my bachelor years and an especially fun chapter of my time in the city, when Bushwick felt endlessly creative, and Roberta's seemed to sit comfortably at its center. This is the first restaurant we've been to with 20% auto gratuity for a party under 6. But the borderline dishonest part is that the check that you sign tells you in tiny letters that tip was already added, but has huge font for additional tip and written out tip calculations, so it is very easy to tip 40% without noticing. Sometimes I do tip extra generously, but I don't want to feel like I was tricked into doing it! Looking thru reviews here, I see other people also experienced this, including people in small parties who were locked into the 20% when it should have definitely been 18%. :/ So close to a good experience, but ruined by tricksy billing.
