Not too bad! It's very oily and too sweet for an Asian person but again not gonna complain - good enough with some sriracha!

Black Tonkotsu ramen

It was a gloomy drizzly day and we had just finished a hike and felt for a cozy bowl of pho. We arrived just after opening and were seated immediately. You order online via your phone and pay upfront too. I thought this was a little strange since it seemed every other party that came in ordered at the cash register up front. Between the four of us, two of us got pho and two of us got ramen. I would recommend to just get the ramen here. I got the Off The Bone pho with marrow and brisket. My sister got the dragonfly pho with steak. My special pho did not look like pho at all. It looked like beef fat mixed with pho broth. To be honest, I had no idea what the bowl was when it was brought out. In my head I thought it was going to be a traditional bowl of pho with a BONE of marrow. This seemed to have the marrow mixed in the broth with NO greenery added in which led to a very fatty and oily mouth feel. My sister's bowl was warm at best and the steak was actually extremely rare and never cooked in the broth. So basically blue steak. We did get refunded for this bowl so appreciate that. The black tonkatsu ramen bowls that our partners got were much tastier and included a good soy 6 minute egg. I felt bad for taking us here as it was my sister and her partner's first time in boulder. The restroom situation was also atrocious. I would definitely try other restaurants in Boulder before coming back here (only for the ramen).

After visiting the Farmer's Market right by Dushanbe Tea House on the 13th Street, strolled to the Dragonfly Noodles on Pearl and 10th in Boulder for lunch. It is right by the famed Zoe Ma Ma, with open patio seating. The restaurant was quite busy in early afternoon on Saturday. The menu was the same as their 16th Street location in Denver, but everything was ordered and prepaid by phone through scanning the QR code on the table, and the server would bring the dishes to the table. The service was attentive but not bothersome. Ordered the Maine Lobster miso ramen, black tonkotsu ramen, roasted duck bao and pork belly bao. The ramen soup was savory and umami. The ramen noodle was made in the restaurant every morning to ensure the freshness and taste. The bao was freshly out of the steamer, very fluffy and chewy. The roasted duck and pork belly were well marinated and very tasteful.

Delicious brisket pho. Lots of thin sliced brisket, plenty of noodles and sprouts. Counter service quick and accommodating. Place is clean and well cared for and decorated. Very comfortable and quiet atmosphere. I had brisket pho and Thai tea.

Great dinner spot near Pearl Street! Stopped in on a Saturday night, easy to find a table, ended up sitting at the bar. Everyone orders using a QR code which makes service pretty quick and easy. The server was still very attentive and friendly! Went with the off the bone Pho which was delicious and a very large portion! Enough to take home as another meal. Also got one the beef bar buns which was also delicious. Relaxing vibes, laid back. My only issue was that they ran out of soy sauce, which was surprising and would have been nice to have, but I understand things like that happen. Will be back!

Very mid ramen joint in downtown Boulder. We were excited by their homemade ramen advertisement and high ratings, but it unfortunately fell pretty short. They have a lot of menu items besides ramen, but I think the ramen will be your best bet! For the 4 of us, we all shared 3 baos - duck, pork belly, eggplant, the black tonkatsu ramen, and a stir fried noodle dish. It was actually a good amount of food for us because we weren't super hungry for an early dinner. - Baos: They're around $4 per piece and none of them really stood out. The pork belly was not very fatty and the roast duck didn't have any crispy skin. The panko eggplant was just ok, but lacked flavor - Cucumber salad: The sauce did not soak into the cucumber at all so it was quite bland even though there were a lot of sauces/spices. - Black tonkatsu ramen: probably the best dish out of everything we ordered, but still not very flavorful. The broth is usually rich and flavorful, but this was lacking in depth - Saucey seafood stir fried noodles: came with about 2 scallops and maybe 4 shrimp. It was very liquidy, which I guess is where the "saucey" comes from, but again, not flavorful at all. I think all the items just didn't have enough salt or spices, or were not marinated long enough in anything

I really enjoyed my dinner here tonight. They make their own bao buns in house. Pork belly with hoisin was really nice. I also had a story fry udon noodle with steak and it blew me away. Service from Jackson was awesome. Can't wait to come back!

Black Tonkotsu with chicken instead of pork

This was very yummy! A bit more expensive than some other ramen places I've been to but I think Tim's worth it. I got the black tonkotsu ramen and it was super yummy. Apparently they make their noodles in house and I really liked the texture of them! If you like Jinya, it's a similar texture to that. I swapped the pork belly for grilled chicken and it was cooked really well and was very flavorful. And the bean sprouts have a bit of spice so if you can't handle a tiny bit of spice, ask for it without it. The server was nice and the vibes were good. Would come again!

Totally finished bowl of black tonkatsu ramen

The black katsu ramen so was so good! This is all that was left! From LA and have tried many popular spots and this bowl kept up and surpassed a lot of them!

The customer service is as enough we won't ever go back. They don't have servers you order from a window which allows the high school kids they employ to treat you like dirt. Here's the thing they advertise no serve charges or tipping yet tag on 15% to every order whether you dine in or go. This allows the kids working there to do nothing. Our drinks came way after our food when we asked to sit away from kids the young girl threw our silver ware down and said ughhhhh whatever. Food was dropped and never saw her again we needed sauce, we got the wrong order. Because they do service charge included it allows staff to act like kids. Never would ever go back and would never recommend the food was ok and for two people $85 with teas that came after food. Needs better management and care!

Was hoping to have a delicious bowl of Pho. The flavors were not good. Another got ramen. Bad taste and the noodle texture was awful

Not pictured, we also ordered the duck soba noodles and the scallops. Everything tasted delicious. I do wish that I had saved some of the soba for when the hamachi came out but I did order those later. I would have preferred the hamachi to come with a bit of rice on the side but my boyfriend didn't mind the salad. It's a great date spot and if we were to sit inside there's options for Japanese style floor seating. When you go inside they ask you to take off your shoes and provide slippers for the restroom. It feels very relaxing and home-y.

Izakaya's are Japanese bars that have quick bites and snacks to choose from. I was excited to see we were heading in. Once arrived on Sunday night we were greeted and welcomed. Asked if we would like to take our shoes off and walk in as in Japanese culture this is very common. It really felt like I was in a Japanese izakaya in Japan We ordered - Tofu Steak - Baked Salmon w/ ikura & rice - Duck Skewers - Salmon Carpaccio Everything was delicious and cooked well. I could have ate 2 bowls of the salmon. Everything is nicely sized but a good size to not get too full to order more. This location is combined with another sushi restaurant and it's cool to see the sushi being made in front of you. Will be back!!

We ordered some…read morefavorite appetizers during happy hour and the had our favorite main, okonomiyaki with seafood for our meal. It was loaded with scallops, shrimp and squid. Of course we always take the bonito flakes which arrive dancing on top of the food, to wave in the escaping heat of the fresh seafood omelet. They have a roasted barley tea I love that has no caffeine as made without a decaffeinating process and so different than herbals common in Boulder. It has real substance. As we started to eat our pork gyoza and Ebi shumai we saw a lit candle in some food being carried across the room. Having eaten here baby times over the year, we were surprised as we had never seen this here. The entire restaurant broke in singing happy birthday to someone too far for us to see. As a server was passing our table, I mentioned we were celebrating my husband's birthday too. He said meh!d let someone know. As we were waiting for our dessert later, the owner who we've met before , with one of the servers who was carrying an ice cream mochi with a flaming birthday candle arrived and placed it in front of my husband and all the patrons broke out in sing again! Who knew this was a tradition here? The owner, who is almost always on the floor had an instant camera and too a picture of our table with the candle celebration. He made a copy for us to take home and one for nh husband to sign which will go up on some wall I had never noticed. We'll be sure to check in the walk the next time we are in. It's such a fun place with really good food. Do make a reservation these days. It's always busy, the now are only open Wed- Sat for dinner. As we were leaving on a very cold night, there weee people packed into the little entry way waiting for seats. One woman was shivering as she had just flown in from FL she said, unprepared for the recent shift back to winter today. Shocked me this morning too.

Servers were extremely friendly and they have a button you press when you're ready to order/want the check which was really convenient. Food came out fast. My favorite sushi was probably the salmon nigiri. It was extremely buttery and fresh. Also the eel was great. I wouldn't recommend the maki/rolls as much as the nigiri. They also had a lot of options that weren't sushi like ramen, salad, rice dishes, okonomiyaki, and more. Definitely some menu items you can't get at any Japanese restaurant. I would definitely recommend coming here.
