This is the best ramen in Colorado. All of the components are just right. Located near plenty of street parking (paid), parking is easy. The staff is always friendly and there is always ample seating. Try some apps! The bathroom situation is a little sketchy, you have to go through the back to a hallway with shared restrooms. This friendly locally owned eatery is on 10th but just off the corner of the west end of Pearl. It's right next door to Pearl poke owned by the same family. Their original kitchen, Zoe Ma Ma is now a half block further west on Pearl. They cover much in the way of Asian specialties for West Pearl. At Dragonfly, they make their own noodles and they are very good. I had some last night in my pho and am looking forward to getting the Yuki Udon next time. My husband wanted a selection of Bao so chose the roasted duck, the pork belly and the Dragonfly. He really liked them all. I love duck Bao so I had one too. Because it was chilly out I got the smoked brisket Pho too and had to bring some home since it was a lot to eat on top of the Bao. I lived the fresh basil leaves and the crunchy crisp bean sprouts. I opted out of the spicy peppers an onion as I find them harsh everywhere. I totally forgot to add a few other options as I live bok choy too. You can get a full menu of options online to order at your table by phone but we prefer and they offer a full sized menu at the counter. Note, that a nominal tip is included which is thoughtful and fair to customers and workers alike. They share duties but noted the owner who makes the noodles in the adjacent space was leaving as we were eating. You can see some of the equipment through the glass partition. They were out of oolong tea and I was hoping for some on a chilly day so I hope it is there next time as a long winter ahead of us. My husband had the iced Thai tea with his Bao. That tea is too sweet for me with condensed milk in it. We will definitely be back later. If I have pho again or my husband has it with rare steak as he plans , I hope the broth will be hotter to cook it some. If we could rate with half stars I'd go 4.5 though it was not quite perfect enough for a 5. But we will be back and pretty soon. read more

It was a gloomy drizzly day and we had just finished a hike and felt for a cozy bowl of pho. We arrived just after opening and were seated immediately. You order online via your phone and pay upfront too. I thought this was a little strange since it seemed every other party that came in ordered at the cash register up front. Between the four of us, two of us got pho and two of us got ramen. I would recommend to just get the ramen here. I got the Off The Bone pho with marrow and brisket. My sister got the dragonfly pho with steak. My special pho did not look like pho at all. It looked like beef fat mixed with pho broth. To be honest, I had no idea what the bowl was when it was brought out. In my head I thought it was going to be a traditional bowl of pho with a BONE of marrow. This seemed to have the marrow mixed in the broth with NO greenery added in which led to a very fatty and oily mouth feel. My sister's bowl was warm at best and the steak was actually extremely rare and never cooked in the broth. So basically blue steak. We did get refunded for this bowl so appreciate that. The black tonkatsu ramen bowls that our partners got were much tastier and included a good soy 6 minute egg. I felt bad for taking us here as it was my sister and her partner's first time in boulder. The restroom situation was also atrocious. I would definitely try other restaurants in Boulder before coming back here (only for the ramen). read more

After visiting the Farmer's Market right by Dushanbe Tea House on the 13th Street, strolled to the Dragonfly Noodles on Pearl and 10th in Boulder for lunch. It is right by the famed Zoe Ma Ma, with open patio seating. The restaurant was quite busy in early afternoon on Saturday. The menu was the same as their 16th Street location in Denver, but everything was ordered and prepaid by phone through scanning the QR code on the table, and the server would bring the dishes to the table. The service was attentive but not bothersome. Ordered the Maine Lobster miso ramen, black tonkotsu ramen, roasted duck bao and pork belly bao. The ramen soup was savory and umami. Very mid ramen joint in downtown Boulder. We were excited by their homemade ramen advertisement and high ratings, but it unfortunately fell pretty short. They have a lot of menu items besides ramen, but I think the ramen will be your best bet! For the 4 of us, we all shared 3 baos - duck, pork belly, eggplant, the black tonkatsu ramen, and a stir fried noodle dish. It was actually a good amount of food for us because we weren't super hungry for an early dinner. - Baos: They're around $4 per piece and none of them really stood out. The pork belly was not very fatty and the roast duck didn't have any crispy skin. The panko eggplant was just ok, but lacked flavor - Cucumber salad: The sauce did not soak into the cucumber at all so it was quite bland even though there were a lot of sauces/spices. - Black tonkatsu ramen: probably the best dish out of everything we ordered, but still not very flavorful. The broth is usually rich and flavorful, but this was lacking in depth - Saucey seafood stir fried noodles: came with about 2 scallops and maybe 4 shrimp. It was very liquidy, which I guess is where the "saucey" comes from, but again, not flavorful at all. This was very yummy! A bit more expensive than some other ramen places I've been to but I think Tim's worth it. I got the black tonkotsu ramen and it was super yummy. Apparently they make their noodles in house and I really liked the texture of them! If you like Jinya, it's a similar texture to that. I swapped the pork belly for grilled chicken and it was cooked really well and was very flavorful. Here's the thing they advertise no serve charges or tipping yet tag on 15% to every order whether you dine in or go. This allows the kids working there to do nothing. Our drinks came way after our food when we asked to sit away from kids the young girl threw our silver ware down and said ughhhhh whatever. Food was dropped and never saw her again we needed sauce, we got the wrong order. Because they do service charge included it allows staff to act like kids. There was actually no wait at all, but unfortunately they ran out of their namesake ramen. I ended up getting the spicy red-ram ramen, which had cherry wood smoked pork belly, spicy miso bomb, sansho-chili oil, spicy sprouts, scallion, and cloud ear mushrooms in a miso-kombu-bonito broth. My friend opted for the same and we also shared a pork belly bao. I liked that you can see them making their noodles on sight. It was very soothing and satisfying. Although the noodles were fresh, the ramen was just decent and bao bun was just okay. My first time at dragonfly noodle. I went for the Ramen and got the Tonkotso. It was very flavorful. The temperature of the broth, however, was not as hot as it should've been when it was brought to the table. What was more irritating than that was the fact that the egg was actually cold. A freshly cooked hot runny egg on Ramen is a common delicious thing, not a cold hard boiled egg, I mentioned it to the server who asked everything was and we'll see how much they care. read more

I hate to say it but Chimera was quite a letdown if you're looking for tasty ramen. The presentation was great and the cashier was very nice but unfortunately the flavors just weren't there. If you've ever had good ramen in any major city with a decent Asian population you know to expect very savory and strong flavors. We tried to get the heaviest, most hearty looking thing on the menu hoping it'd have a savory and flavorful broth but it tasted pretty bland overall. The noodles were also al dente // slightly undercooked which is also uncharacteristic of ramen. The pork belly quality was good but still much too bland. I hate to say it, but similar to our experience at Zoe Mamas (Chimera's sister restaurant and local fan favorite) the food here seems to have been tempered down way too much - perhaps catering to localized palettes which is understandable as a business, but disappointing to anyone looking for good ramen. read more

Roasted Duck Bao was not anything special. The wait to get the food after ordering was too long; 40 minutes to wait for ramen, and it wasn't even a busy evening, maybe 4 tables occupied to include ours. When we finally got our food, they served 2 orders out of 6; we waited another 15 minutes to get everyone's food. Also, service was non-existent, I needed to ask for water refills multiple times.
