Rooms are very old and need updating. The furniture was threadbare, and the bathroom door was chipped and peeling. When I asked for daily room cleaning, I was told "no" I was handed a stack of towels and linens--I guess to make my own bed! There is a Murphy bed, which leaves almost no room to get around the bed at night to use the facilities, as it almost butts up against the table. The bathroom tub is yellowing from age.There is only enough parking for 1/3 of the rooms next to the hotel, which means you need to park in a dirt lot and shuttle to the hotel--what a pain. I only stayed here because it was a wedding hotel, never again.I did not stay during ski season, so cannot speak of the skiing or the spa, but this is barely a one star hotel.

Every single detail of the property has been so thoughtfully considered, it's truly incredible. The attention to detail in every square foot left me in awe!!! Lisa is the kind of host you can only dream about. She pours her whole heart into making sure every guest feels cared for, and you can truly tell. It felt less like staying at a rental and more like being welcomed into the home of an old friend. It's rare to find a place where you feel so completely at home, only better!! From the warm welcome to the smallest touches, everything made us feel completely spoiled in the best way!! It's rare to find that balance, but somehow it's all here. The property is beautiful, every little detail inside has been so thoughtfully chosen, and the price point is beyond fair for the experience you get! This is a charming inn to stay where the owners greet you and treat you like family. No, it's not a…read moreluxury hotel with elevators and carpeted floors to cancel footsteps in the rooms above you, but old time charm has been restored and the beds are comfortable and cozy. Each bedroom has its own bedroom, but some bedrooms are tiny and some very large. (I was given one of the large room seen in the photo.) However, this isn't the kind of place where you'll hang out in your room. There are big, comfy chairs and couches by a warm wood fireplace in the winter and tables and chairs out on the patio and front porch to sit and enjoy the view in clear weather. This is a small motel close to Mount Snow, 3 stories. The parking lines aren't clearly drawn out…read moreunder the snow, and they don't shovel it all of the way (there's a good shovel on the central walkway but sometimes people park there), so sometimes cars are double-parked or tight. Watch the parking lot exit - snow piles up and makes it hard to see folks coming on the road so several near-misses. Check-in on your phone (they text you a form and then send you a code to your door when the room is ready). Doors use a security code to enter the rooms. Desk hours are 9-5p, so if you go down at 4:45p and ask about why your door code doesn't work - and then find out the staff is already gone for the day, that was a problem. The day we checked in, a lot of people had issues with their room (all different reservations from different groups, too), and the staff left early that day. Eventually after texting a number and the hotline for customer service goes to the closed room (no one picks up on the number and there's no central phone line staffed), they get back to you via text - I believe the staffer on duty was apparently in the shower as she came down with wet hair after about 45min of folks getting anxious about what to do, and she had folks take a key to use instead of using the door code. Rooms are small, simple, and have an exit to the long shared balcony areas; good to put food outside and let it chill since there's no room fridge. Lighting is a bit dark, but suffices. TV has no issues, cable channels. Bathroom door opened the wrong way so you can't come into the room and open the bathroom door at the same time. Was clean, though, so that was good. Breakfast on the weekend included bagels, boiled eggs, and yogurt in a small fridge to the side. They also have a coffee machine, so you could get hot water and coffee. Breakfast bars and tea by the coffee station. There was also a water cooler to the side, but the staffer didn't have any water to refill that after it was empty in the first hour we were there... so only hot water for the rest of the long weekend. Hallway had a closet for self-service on the towels and supplies. Another closet at the entry for your skis, boots, and snow board to hang and dry a bit. Shared common room for folks to eat and play games. Downstairs, a little library, fireplace, pool table (needs some repair, had to put some logs into the bottom to avoid losing balls, ripped surface), a bar with plastic cups, a piano that's out of tune, and some card and board games. Good for the kids to run around and enjoy talking loudly away from the rest of the motel, which was good. Outside a hot tub (we didn't use it). Upstairs some seating and fireplace area, too. Overall, value the place for the location, 5 min from the mountain, and it's a motel. Don't expect 24-7 service, and it is convenient to restaurants and other areas nearby. Shuttle stops by to get to the mountain, too.

Tiny Bathroom with very dim lights. The room looked like a mud brown box, no decoration at all and very ratty old rug. Odd that some things looked good, but others were unfinished. Clean, very basic. All in all it appeared like it was the middle of a hotel flip. Construction, ladders in entrance ways, and workers pounding at 9:30 am.

The lodge is as close to Mt Snow as it can be without being on Vail property, and it's dog friendly. You can walk to the main lift in about 7 min, or drive your gear up and return to park at the lodge in 10. The room was clean and warm. The amenities are non-existent; the gym is a sad spot in the basement with a broken exercise bike, the hot tub is from the 70s, and even the breakfast had stale food. But if you're going to spent your time skiing and exploring and need a place to rest your head that is budget friendly, this works fine. Just don't expect more than that. If you want the lodge ambiance, leave the dog at home and stay up the hill for a lot more (as we did last year).

Being from Michigan, we were unaware of mud season (runs April - mid May and is a time when many places shut down and renovate due to the change from ski season to summer season). However, we still had an absolutely AMAZING trip and would not have changed a single thing! We debated which accommodation to book because the map online makes everything look really far apart....but it's not! Everything is within easy walking distance. We ultimately chose the Woodshed, which is a small cabin to its own. The main room is the bedroom. I have never slept in a more comfortable bed in my life! Not only was the bed comfortable, the duvet/comforter was perfect....it cooled me down when I was warm and warmed me up when I was cold!!! The room was appointed with a welcome letter, unique snacks, plenty of coffee, and plenty of wood for the indoor fireplace (which we did not need to use). The bathroom is large and is stocked with top of the line toiletries. The shower has great temperature and water pressure! There is also a large closet/room that has a small refrigerator and microwave. There are 2 beds upstairs in the loft which we did not use but seemed comfortable. Outside, we had our own patio and firepit, which we used all the time. The property manager, Steve, was always dropping off wood for us (without us having to ask), but there was also a large pile of wood right around the corner if we ran out (which we didn't, even though my boyfriend tried lol). We spent a lot of our evenings sitting outside enjoying the sights and sounds of nature and the property. We also enjoyed the river and walking the property/hiking path, but we did not partake in tennis or basketball, but those are available, along with other amenities. When we were off property, we were exploring the local surrounding towns and easy-moderate hiking trails. Vermont doesn't disappoint! What a beautiful area! The FRE (Farm Road Estate) family was incredibly accommodating and hospitable. Many times throughout our stay, while we were outside, staff checked up on us or to simply say hello. We were shown some of the renovations of the blue stone patio at the Sawmill Restaurant, and it looks absolutely phenomenal, we can't wait to come back and visit!

The bed was pleasurably comfortable. Breakfast was cooked by Oz and was tasty and well presented. The location is surrounded by excellent restaurants, just minutes from Wilmington which also has many restaurants and shops. If you were an artist looking for a beautiful Vermont country inn to paint, this would be an excellent choice. And, it was quite affordable, especially in light of its well-deserved stellar reviews.
