This is the fun game room in the basement, which no other place has like this!!!

Best place to be in the Dover area! Great location, not even a 5 minute drive to Mt.Snow. I have stayed here with friends numerous times and just haven't gotten around to writing a review. Each and every time you go you feel as if you are part of the family there. They do a great job at making you feel as if you are in your own home! Absolutely great and loving people here!! The rooms are cozy, they serve a great breakfast which is made fresh by the owners, and an awesome game room! The game room has a pool table, air hockey table, ping pong table, and a lounge area. It's great for all families and friends, I highly recommend staying at the Gray Ghost Inn! P.S. There is no ghost here If you use the game room please clean up after yourself, don't be rude :)

I came to VT for a wedding during Labor Day weekend and they were recommended by the bride. I was excited to be able to book such an affordable hotel close to the downtown area and wedding venue. When we arrived (late night), it was creepy as no other, and as we stood waiting for the Inn keeper wto pop her head in from her actual home area - which was merely seperated by a threshold - we took a moment to soak in all the memories on the wall. Even without stepping into Yelp or a room, you can tell this place was going to be homey and perfect for a Vermont weekend. The Inn keeper, came out chirpy and barefoot to show us to our room. The first thing we noticed was the freaky door lock, no knob, and a twist/pull/push action needed to be learned quickly in order to get in and out of the room. I do not recommend having too many cocktails and trying to figure it out. Once inside the room, was quaint with wall to wall wood and and old school cabin vibe. It was very clean and in room 204 you have a great view of the pool and patio area. Since it was late August, we completely forgot about bikinis, and I was particularly bummed when I found out there was also a hot tub! We unpacked and grabbed a drink in the Dove Bar & Grill half a block down the road. THE BEST PART OF THE TRIP IS THE MORNING BREAKFAST. Seriously, that needed to be in all CAPS. I wasn't expecting much, considering I have traveled many places, with many terrible continental breakfasts, which I am grateful for their "free"-ness....but my expectations were super low. Let me tell you, I am not a pancake person.......and the Gray Ghost in makes the best damn pancakes next to Crackle Barrel. They were crispy on the edges, fluffy in the middle and of course the unlimited maple syrup is a treat. What can make this breakfast even better? Thick sliced bacon and crispy home fries. My heaven....I may move to Vermont. Needless to say, you should come here, if only for the breakfast. The rest of the Inn is so cozy and cute. There are couches and a big fireplace that makes you sleepy just looking at it. They offer a BYOB bar, which I thought was genius! There is a game room in the basement too in case you don't feel like stepping out. Although I would recommend going downtown to check out the cute shops and walk around or just to stuff your face with a lobster roll at the Anchor house. Needless to say, I highly recommend booking here, they are sweet as maple syrup and sadly not haunted at all.

Excellent place! I planned a ski trip to Mt Snow with my vegan Frd's from NYC recently, I wasn't really sure how bed and breakfast place might work for people with plant based lifestyle. Carina did a fantastic job accommodating us without any fuss - Made tofu scramble, home fries, oats, toast, lots of fresh fruits and beverages!! It felt like HOME. Shout out to fellow VEGANS please support this inn! Ohh by the way, the inn has Outdoor hot tub that you should not miss..

The Gray Ghost Inn is an experience all on its own. From the outside its your typical B&B. It is family owned and run, and they live on the premises. On the inside its a little different from your standard bed and break... As far as the rooms go that is. We had two separate rooms with two double beds each. There are no televisions in any of their rooms (excluding like 2 suites). Which can be a shock to the system, but turned out not to be an issue for us. But you dont go to a mountain resort to sit in your room and watch tv (hopefully). The bathroom doesnt come with bars of soap, only liquid soap (and shampoo, if your in the shower) dispensers. The heat can be a little iffy as well (so Ive heard) even though we didnt have a problem with it. There are two common rooms, one on the first floor (where you can watch TV and movies) with a wood fireplace. We would start a fire late at night and drink ourselves silly by its warm glow. This is also where the communal fridge/microwave are, and where breakfast is served. The other is in the basement, where they have a gas fireplace, tv, dvd, ping pong, pool table, pinball machine and numerous board games. There is also a large hot tub outside. Breakfast is offered in the morning (well duh) normally with two choices. One day we had blueberry pancakes with sausage and bacon (they offer eggs everyday, but I dont do embryo). Another day we had french toast, and the next, regular pancakes. Each one was absolutely delicious. The food is served and prepared by the husband (Magnus) and the wife (Carina) owners. They are both very pleasant and accommodating. We stayed here during a 2 day blizzard (19 inches) to do an event for the Mtn Dew Tour, and it was unreal. I love snow and couldnt get enough, it was non stop. The inn is only a few miles away from Mount Snow and there is a free shuttle bus that stops right outside. I definitely recommend staying here, it will be an experience you wont forget. As long as you dont mind not having a TV in your room. Tell Magnus I said hi!!

It is, indeed, a cute inn.

By far the cleanest and most organized B&B I've ever stayed at and I have been to a lot. The location is perfect for people wanting adventure or just a nice relaxing day or both. We took advantage of the location and went on a 5 mile hike which was wonderful. We relaxed with a bottle of wine and a nice hot bath after the hike. It was perfect. We highly recommend staying here and will be coming back for a few nights next time because we enjoyed it so much. Thank you Ariana and Scott for making my birthday weekend so special. The parking lines aren't clearly drawn out…read moreunder the snow, and they don't shovel it all of the way (there's a good shovel on the central walkway but sometimes people park there), so sometimes cars are double-parked or tight. Watch the parking lot exit - snow piles up and makes it hard to see folks coming on the road so several near-misses. Check-in on your phone (they text you a form and then send you a code to your door when the room is ready). Doors use a security code to enter the rooms. Desk hours are 9-5p, so if you go down at 4:45p and ask about why your door code doesn't work - and then find out the staff is already gone for the day, that was a problem. The day we checked in, a lot of people had issues with their room (all different reservations from different groups, too), and the staff left early that day. Eventually after texting a number and the hotline for customer service goes to the closed room (no one picks up on the number and there's no central phone line staffed), they get back to you via text - I believe the staffer on duty was apparently in the shower as she came down with wet hair after about 45min of folks getting anxious about what to do, and she had folks take a key to use instead of using the door code. Rooms are small, simple, and have an exit to the long shared balcony areas; good to put food outside and let it chill since there's no room fridge. Lighting is a bit dark, but suffices. TV has no issues, cable channels. Bathroom door opened the wrong way so you can't come into the room and open the bathroom door at the same time. Was clean, though, so that was good. Breakfast on the weekend included bagels, boiled eggs, and yogurt in a small fridge to the side. They also have a coffee machine, so you could get hot water and coffee. Breakfast bars and tea by the coffee station. There was also a water cooler to the side, but the staffer didn't have any water to refill that after it was empty in the first hour we were there... so only hot water for the rest of the long weekend. Hallway had a closet for self-service on the towels and supplies. Another closet at the entry for your skis, boots, and snow board to hang and dry a bit. Shared common room for folks to eat and play games. Downstairs, a little library, fireplace, pool table (needs some repair, had to put some logs into the bottom to avoid losing balls, ripped surface), a bar with plastic cups, a piano that's out of tune, and some card and board games. Good for the kids to run around and enjoy talking loudly away from the rest of the motel, which was good. Outside a hot tub (we didn't use it). Upstairs some seating and fireplace area, too. Overall, value the place for the location, 5 min from the mountain, and it's a motel. Don't expect 24-7 service, and it is convenient to restaurants and other areas nearby. Shuttle stops by to get to the mountain, too.
