POOR HOSPITALITY: I was hoping to be contacted immediately last night or even this morning, to be informed we'd in fact receive late check-out.  (1 EXTRA HOUR.) I and my significant other are many time returning guests at the lodge "Grand Summit" Unfortunately yesterday I was escorted down the mountain by ski patrol to first aid.  I have a lower back injury, complete external hip rotation, and thigh muscle injury.  I am barely able to walk. Multiple individuals had refused us regarding a late check-out over the phone from our room where I am contained. My boyfriend went to the front desk concierge in person and was again refused.  Then I myself, was forced to limp down to the lobby in TEARS to plead with these individuals.  After 20 minutes, they did not even have an ice pack in their first aid kit for me. They do NOT pride themselves on customer service or hospitality.  This is very disheartening and very disappointing.  It has been customary for us to stay here over ski season and now we will be forced to look elsewhere, furthermore.. This will not be the last of my proclamation of this incident. It's quite frankly crewel. We had much with us and many items to pack and load.  Again, I am in severe pain and need to be lying down with ice, not packing and lugging my belongings.  Even a mere extra hour would have been some sort of conciliation. I find it quite extraordinary not even for a guest who sustained substantial injuries they could have provided this  "LATE CHECK OUT" 1 mere hour. Mind you I'm positive house keeping could have circled back around. To be honest they probably wouldn't have gotten to the room by 12pm because they never have, in my many experiences at the Grand Summit over the course of years.  An atrocity. On my way to the hospital.

Table shoved up against the kitchen storage cabinet

Never. The worst place I've ever stayed in my entire life. Asked for a room with a king bed and Mountain View. Our room stinks like cigarettes. The bed pulls out of the wall! We have no Mountain View. Our view is the back of a utility/maintenance shed. Our table is slammed up against the kitchen cabinet so we can't even get to the silverware. The room is so cramped and bizarre. It's like we're staying in a kitchen. We called the front desk to ask for another room as this is not what was presented to us when making the reservation. They did nothing to fix the situation and they were rude. Crystal even laughed at me on the phone, zero customer support. The manager was flustered and overwhelmed. Because apparently we weren't the only ones staying here that were miserable. The manager did nothing to fix our situation. It also takes over 20 minutes for the valet to get your car. (You HAVE to valet, there are few options to independently park and the couple spots get taken quickly) There's only ONE valet! This place is a mess. I strongly discourage anyone from staying here. We tried to keep the lights off and I tried not to wear my glasses so that I wouldn't have to see the deplorable conditions of my living situation for the weekend. I also never unpacked because I was in denial that I actually had to reside in this dump for three days. So basically, invite someone over that smokes. Have them smoke like two packs of cigarettes in your kitchen. Blindfold yourself, hop in your kitchen sink with a pillow and you'll get the full mount snow grand summit experience without having to spend any money.

Highly recommend if you are looking for a spot to ski and stay or just stay. We have not one complaint after spending a weekend here. From valet service to attentive staff when you arrive, you feel welcomed. The check in was simple and quick. They have a restaurant called Harriman's with a bar (see review) inside of the resort. They also have a deli you can eat at. This resort is located right at the bottom of mt. Snow so it is literally ski on/ski off. They have a place to check your boards/skis so you don't have to bring the dirty wet equipment up to your room. There is an arcade for the kids and a heated pool and two hot tubs. The pool and hot tubs look out to the mountain which is beautiful. There is also a sauna, steam room and fitness center. The fitness center includes a plethora of weights and resistance equipment as opposed to your average hotel gym. The rooms were spacious and clean. They included a little kitchen with full sized fridge. The kitchen had a stove, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, and sink. Not sure if there was an oven. If you get tired of the deli or restaurant there are other places to eat and drink within a short driving distance away.

Such an inviting entry to the lodge!

We had a very enjoyable stay for an evening at Mount Grand Summit Resort. The fall colors surrounding the lodge were beautiful. And, for the peak leaf season in the area we found the nightly room rate to be very affordable & competitive. Also, checking their deals online we found an offer for ski lift rides for use on one day of their stay. Definitely check their actual website, and then I called their reservation line (only available during business hours) and the room package was $30 cheaper through them! Upon check-in your first impression of the resort is "mountain grandeur" from the large beams, rustic aesthetic, & large, lit stone fireplace in the center of the lobby. The check-in process went so quickly & the lobby attendant is great to explain parking options, dining options, and navigation of the property. We went to our room on the 3rd floor and were satisfied with the conditions. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only reason I rate the whole experience a 4/5 is the room we had was next to guests who were very loud. The walls seemed unusually thin - so i discounted the rating for how easy it was to hear all their noise. And the shower head was very low for people of average height & the bathroom space was cramped. (It's possible these were only issues with a king room as well due to the layout.) Be certain to check out the farm to table restaurant in the lobby. It's fantastic!

Creepy security guard spying on all the people in the pool. He even turned to look at my while I took his photo.

Do not stay here. The security guard at the pool was creeping over every person there through the fitness area windows. He asked my wife to smell her drink that she had in her hand when we went to the pool, unacceptable. He made all the the kids in the pool and adults very uncomfortable. When I approached him to express our concern, his reply was. "Thank you for letting me know, I will observe from another location." The other location was out on the pool deck. This security guard made my kids so uncomfortable that we left the pool area. We will never stay at this resort again purely because of this situation. This statement was made to the woman at the front desk.

I'm not a skier, nor do I play one on TV. But I recently attended a wedding held at the Grand Summit, and I suppose I would have been able to get the full experience had I gone during ski season, as well as knowing what to even do about it. But the hotel was a solid choice for a fall wedding against the trees, and I enjoyed my stay. The rooms all have kitchenettes, so my suggestion would be to bring your own food if possible. You've got the stove, oven, dishwasher, and fridge at your disposal (no pun intended). Had we known we would have all this available, we would have at least brought a box of cereal and almond milk at the most possible minimum. Granted, this was our own fault for not doing adequate research before leaving, but I digress. Don't do what I did, bring food and take advantage of the kitchen! The other option is to visit the general store in town and bring the food back to your room. Whatever you choose, the end result should be the same. The rest of the room was lovely, and the Murphy bed descended right out of the wall. I did worry that the bed would fold back up with me in it, but it didn't happen, and it's a huge sign that I watch way too much TV. The best thing to do year round is to take a ride on the scenic chairlift. For $15, adults age 19-64 can take a round trip up to the top of the mountain and take in some truly amazing views. Nature is the best, seriously. When there's wind, the chairlift has a windshield that can close down to your liking. You get to feel like you're flying up the mountain in a fancy space pod. Once at the top, you can get a drink at the Bullwheel tavern and sit on the patio and continue to drool over the mountain. The ride down gives you a view of houses that remind you of the opening scenes from "The Sound of Music", and who doesn't want to say that the hills are alive and actually mean it? I'm not sure when I'll have the opportunity to return to ski country, but I enjoyed my stay at the Grand Summit on the whole. I still don't think I'll be signing up for ski lessons any time soon, but that mountain covered in snow? Sign me up for the scenic chairlift.

The nicest most conveniently located ski lodge to Mount Snow. Ski out. In the back where the ski attendant holds your skis you grab your skis and you are feet away from Blue Bird, the new high speed domed chair lift. Great buffet breakfast, accommodating staff and beautiful function al rooms with kitchenettes and dining tables. Perfect for families and small groups. I really enjoyed this place.unfortubately, hot tub and pool at the spa was undergoing maintenance but alternatives were made available.

Bait and Switch; Safety Issues; Non-responsive…read more In early November, our group stayed at one of their properties and found that the description and photographs were not accurate. We also reported safety issues directly to the listing agent and have still not received a response from the company. I would caution anyone who is considering renting from HVLR. I initially found the property and booked it through Air BnB. Hudson Valley Luxury Resorts then cancelled the listing and requested that I book directly through their website, offering a discount. I had no other option since they had cancelled on their end and there were no other properties available for our desired time and location. Since cancelling our stay, they have since re-listed the property on Air BnB, for which there are no reviews available. The listing described a 'unparalleled escape for those seeking luxury, privacy, and natural beauty' and 'historic property has been meticulously updated to offer the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern amenities.' Neither of these statements are accurate. Just before check-in, the host called us to let us know that the house was historic and had some quirks. This was the first indication that the property was not what was advertised. Over the four nights we stayed, we found the following issues: 1. Inaccessible first floor half bath due to missing doorknobs. 2. Three of the upstairs bathrooms did not have fully functional showers or hot water. In the first bathroom, the tub drain was clogged and the shower curtain was not big enough to enclose the tub. Additionally the faucet leaked from the handles when it was turned on. In the second bathroom, the shower head did not function at all. In the third bathroom, one sink did not have any hot-water. 3. None of the upstairs bedrooms had functioning wall switches and most of the wall sconces were missing lightbulbs. Two light fixtures had faulty wiring evidenced by the intermittent flickering of the lights. 4. One upstairs bedroom had a broken doorknob, which meant you had to leave the door cracked or else be locked in/out. 5. Multiple windows had visible gaps open to the outside and few radiators actually worked. We were told to keep the thermostat at 67 degrees the entire time, which made for a very uncomfortable stay. 6. Flaking paint and torn rugs created a hazard for the toddlers and kids in our group. This brings us to the safety concerns: There wasn't a single working smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector in the house. We checked the existing devices and none of them responded to the test button or indicated they had power. The host told us we could use the fireplace as long as we kept it small (3 logs or fewer). With the flue open, a 2 log fire smoked out the entire first floor. It was only then we noticed the absence of any fire safety monitors. With two young children in the group, we immediately reported the issue to the host who said they "will check on that". I also reported these issues immediately to Ryan, the listing agent. I also tried the generic "info@hudsonvalleyluxuryresorts.com" email. After 72 hours we haven't received an acknowledgement. The icing on the cake was that my toddler found a used condom near the side door as we were checking out. Aside from the safety issues, I still would have been willing to rent if the listing was accurate and the price reflected a drafty, historic home with 3 of 7 usable showers, and hit-or-miss electricity.

Whether you're skiing at nearby Gore Mountain or whitewater rafting on the Hudson, returning to a nice warm condo to relax with a cold beer is a huge comfort. When we have a big group for skiing, I always try to get the 4 bedroom units, but there are only 2 of them, so the earlier you book the better. They're not true 4BR because they are really 2 units with 3+1BR with an adjoining door and 2 entrances. The unit rental rate is pricey, but that's to be expected on a holiday weekend during ski season. On the plus side, you have 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens and 3 1/2 baths which makes a big difference when you're cooking dinner or trying to get everybody ready to go out to the slopes in the morning. Both units also have gas outdoor grills if you want to throw on some steaks after a long day on the slopes. Just be sure to put on all your ski gear if you're manning the grill and it's 0 degrees when the sun goes down. The office and clubhouse building is only a short walk away. Some of the individual units have WiFi if the owner is nice enough to have it installed, but it's available in the clubhouse if you really need it. There is also a swimming pool, foosball, billiards and table tennis. The office even sells discount lift tickets for Gore if you want to save a couple of bucks off the mountain price.

We booked a townhouse for the long weekend, and it was pretty close to perfect…read more Minutes away from Gore Mountain, it was one of the best places to stay and be close enough to get there. You could drive, but there is also a shuttle. The price for the two bedroom town house was not cheap, but the comfort factor made up for it. It has a full kitchen, with lots of dishes, cooking utensils , pots and pans. Even a blender! Anything you can dream of, with more than enough serveware which was nice. There's also a dishwasher which made life easier. Living, dining and kitchen were open concept, large dining table and a flat screen tv. Upstairs were two bedrooms , the master with ensuite and shared hot tub. I was surprised how clean the place was, everything was spotless and seemed like it was left just for us. No one bugged us for the three days we were there which was nice, but you could have requested a change of sheets, more towels if you wanted to. The office down the way, had a pool and maps and thing but we didn't use any of them. The only 2 complaints was that they couldn't give us the Wifi password and seemed to be only available in the office ( a huge downer for us roaming canadians) and for some reason we couldn't regulate the temperature consistently (either too hot or too cold) Otherwise the stay was really enjoyable, and couldn't have asked for more in accommodations. For those that dont feel like skiing, North Creek town about 5 mins away has a great bakery and antique shop!
