While we did not order chicken, it seemed wrong not to try the pizza. Pizzas are thin crust, but still large enough to share. Crust is light and airy. Pesto and artichoke pizza is warm and comforting. Garden chopped salad is fresh. Champagne vinegarette is bright and flavorful. Potato wedges that were served with the prime rib dip were cold. The prime rib was ordered medium. Meat served was well done. Bread tasted house made. Do not skip the Nutella brownie. Rich and thick brownie with a dollop of Nutella baked into the center. Brownie is topped with a dry and crunchy hazelnut merengue. Chopped hazelnuts are folded into the merengue. Hazelnut crunch is what makes this dessert truly unique. If that wasn't enough, the dessert is served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and homemade fudge sauce. This dessert is enough to be it's own meal. Inside is light and bright. Went here last night for the first time with a group of 5 for my birthday and it certainly had a cozy and rustic feel when walking up, especially with the fireplace lit. Service was okay as she looked like she was responsible for half of the restaurant, perhaps they were short staffed. Even the manager was expediting and bringing food out to tables. Food was a wreck as our table had a dairy allergy. They brought over the peppers appetizers with dairy sauce squeeze all over, even after our server assured us it was only on the side. Great that they didn't add this dish to our bill. Same went for the pizza, when it was ordered without cheese. (I know, why are you in a pizza joint if you can't have cheese) but many places can accommodate not putting a handful of cheese on top. The experditer brining food/helping servers even brought it over saying "the aviator pizza with no cheese", then sat it down and it was topped with cheese. LOL I just chuckled. Our server brought over the cupcakes (allergy friendly) that we brought in and just gave us forks. No knife or plates, so we just ate them caveman style. The overall - the food was bad, the service bad and the ambiance was awesome. We had two waitresses who kept flipping back and forth between each other, neither paid much attention to us. The food was heavy on the cheese to compensate for the lack of good ingredients, most stuff was just overly salty. The restaurant itself is very cool with great decor and nice lighting. Annoyingly, every single table was reserved so we had to sit at the "bar" which were really just tables for groups of five? Overall, will not return. Let's start with the good - I like the way this place looks. It's very modern and has lots of great accents and lighting. It's a nice place to take a date and feel like you're at fancy Pizza Hut. The colors are great, everything matches well and it's kept very clean. We had to sit at the high top bar seating because the whole restaurant was "full". It was an early night and we showed up without a reservation so maybe 6 people were there but sure, I guess I should've reserved. 5 seat bar tops is very odd, someone ends up facing a group they maybe don't know and you can't even fit three couples, just a blizzard setup to me but whatever. Overall, cool looking spot, this is the end of the good. I arrive and ask for a table for two. The waitress asks if we have a reservation and we don't. She says ok, you'll have to sit at the bar seats. Often I come to a restaurant early for two reasons, I need to get to bed early for my beauty rest and I know they take reservations so I gotta be in there early to get a table. But NO tables? You are cool reserving ALL your available tables? Fine, I will sit at the bar. I think the bar is tended to by a couple waitresses when they have time to come by but this just apparently isn't tenable. I believe they assume that the other is taking care of the customer so they don't come by and it just leads to inattention to us. Everything was slow to come out, getting an order in, drinks, food, etc. One of our waitresses was really friendly and helpful, the other was friendly but didn't offer us much. Neither really checked up on us as much as we would've hoped. At the end, my wife's food genuinely made her not feel good and she had to go sit in the car. I sat alone for about 10 minutes with nothing in front of me just waiting to pay. I even had the check with my card on it in front of me. I think this is part of why this bar setup is just bad, it leads to inattention. The waitresses were probably very busy because the restaurant was busy, but that is the restaurants problem, not the waitresses fault. Not thrilled on this front. Lastly the food, it wasn't great. I LOVE pizza, like most other chunky Americans. I could eat it nearly every meal. I admit, I came to doughbird years prior and we didn't love it but it had been a long time so we wanted to give it a shot... Ouch. The best thing we had was the appetizer, truffle cheesy bread. HEAVY on the cheese and light on the truffle. Not real truffle either, just truffle oil. It was like eating cheesy bread from Little Caesars with puffier crust. The truffle was like pulling out an old photo of yourself when you were especially self conscious - "oh yeah, sure, that's it alright..." The pizza was just genuinely bad. My wife said hers was fine but it made her stomach upset. I ordered the black truffle mushroom and added prosuccito, my wife got the copper hat. I tasted basically zero black truffle on mine, I hoped that maybe they'd do it better on the pizza but turned out no, that's on me. The prosuccito was awful, it was so salty that I had to take smaller bites to eat it with the pizza. The arugula was overwhelming, obviously not fresh because it was practically sour. The entire pizza was swimming in it too so I had to pick some off as I went. The cheese combo was straight bad, it was papa johns style over the top mozzarella with dollops of goat cheese on top. Saba is also gross but hey, guess that's just me. For the record, I order almost the same pizza at every restaurant because I'm basic, sue me. My wife's asked them to go light on the cheese on her copper hat but apparently that meant almost no cheese. I think she got 4-5 dollops of goat cheese on the entire pizza. She was expecting something more akin to a margarita pizzas mozzarella but sure... She asked the waitress to give her an idea how much cheese they used but she didn't know. The combo made her stomach upset and she had to leave to sit in the car. She said the meats were good but I thought her pepperoni had an overly peppery aftertaste. To top it all off with ONE 6$ mocktail (we weren't feeling the drinking this evening), our meal was 100$! That's absurd! Wife and I have recently had dinner and drinks at a nice place for the same money. Unbelievable. This was our second try, there's no shot we are returning. I love coming to Doughbird for their pizza! I always have to get their Cesar salad because it tastes SO FRESH! I have to come back and try their rotisserie chicken! Pizza is made to order, so it might take a while to come out! Parking can be a hassle sometimes depending on when you come. We went on a Sunday and there was complimentary valet parking. We dined here for lunch and had a very positive experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He checked on us often and was proactive in staying on top of our water refills. We had the Margherita and Pepperoni Pizzas and Buffalo flavored wings. The pizza was delicious and the wings had great taste, texture and presentation. Came post Covid-19. All employees were wearing mask. Place looked and smelled very clean. Came at lunch hour and ample seating and social distancing put into play. We both had salad. My coworker had Watermelon salad with salmon. Looked good. I got the Garden Chopped Salad with chicken. I really enjoyed my salad. So may flavors. I didnt need to add the chicken. Chicken was seasoned good but i just wasn't necessary on my salad. I got a side of their harvest doughbread and it was so good. I want more of that bread. I would tear up that bread with some olive oil/balsamic. I wanna just eat it everyday...wonder if I can order that to go. Definitely will come back for lunch. Maybe next time I will try a pizza. My son and I had time to kill so we visited Doughbird. It was nicer inside than I thought it would be, good atmosphere. Our waiter was very prompt. We enjoyed an appetizer of guac and pimento dip. There certainly weren't enough chips or bread crisps to eat all of the dip (disproportionate) but for 2 of us it was fine, we couldn't finish the dips anyway. We had pizza that was delicious. I'd like to try more combinations. He ordered a dessert that looked amazing and he devoured it - butterscotch cake I think. He said it was rich but not too rich and the perfect size. read more

I came in with the mission to try the Wild Mushroom Pizza. It did not disappoint! The flavors were great and the pie was baked to perfection. The portions were filling and I even had enough left to take home. Speaking of pie... the lemon meringue pie was delish. I'm not a fan of meringue (I usually just scrape it off and eat the pie.), so I was surprised at how good it was on this pie. The meringue was creamy and smooth. The beer list was limited and while there were a few local brews I'd like to see more. There are a quite a few craft cocktails and wine on the drink menu. After being disappointed by the Porch no longer allowing dogs on their patio. (Service animals only) we made our way to Doughbird. Since it was 104°, we were the only people on the patio but they graciously welcomed both me and my dog. The manager picked out the shadiest table and turned on the misting system just for us. Our server Noah, greeted us right away and asked if I wanted a bowl of water for my dog, at the same time, he took my drink order. He came out with a nice size bowl, but she poured cold water in and my dog quickly lapped up. I ordered the French dip sandwich which said was his go to lunch and suggested the crispy potato wedges or Cesar salad as the accompaniment. The French dip and potato wedges were very tasty but the homemade ranch dressing was one of the best I've ever had and I consider myself quite the ranch connoisseur. It was a quick lunch since even though the patio was as comfortable as possible it was still the hottest August in Phoenix history so I didn't get to enjoy one of their tempting deserts. Hands down my favorite restaurant. Whenever we visit Phoenix it is a must. We usually stay in north Scottsdale and make the drive 40mins to dough bird. I haven't had something I don't enjoy here. The mashed potatoes are perfect, the chicken is melt in your mouth. The pizza is always cooked perfectly. My kids love the Mac and cheese too. My absolute favorite thing is the umami sauce for the chicken. I love all the sauce options too but the umami is just so delicious. If anyone asks me for a recommendation for a Phoenix restaurant i always name this place first. I've eaten at all of the FRC restaurants but this one definitely takes the cake. I'm not sure why they call this place Doughbird. What does it even mean? Nevermind it's one of these mini- conglomerate restaurants popping up all over the Valley of the Sun, with quirky names, on-trend food, a locals vibe, and expansive high-end decor. It's a gorgeous space, with a nice big open bar, lots of windows, and really cool tile It is a bit noisy, but maybe that's by design, adding to the bustling brasserie atmosphere. Our table went with a margarita pizza and the Cobb salad option. It probably wasn't called a Cobb salad, but basically that's what it was. I think it was the "grilled chicken, bacon, avocado" salad. Believe it or not, I'm not big on bacon, but it's essential in this salad and it was perfect. I'm Soo picky about my salad: I hate the mushy mesclun mixes, the boring romaines and the watery icebergs. Here was a perfect ratio of greens to cheese, to chicken and bacon. Each bite was balanced and the dressing was amazing. Was it a champagne vinegarette? I don't know but yum it was great. When I'm back in town, I'm getting this again, a winner. Pizza was nice too, nothing earth shattering, but serviceable and quality ingredients. Service was fine. My only complaint is, when you have essentially an entire huge restaurant, seating a ladies luncheon trio one table away from a party including seven toddlers left us unable to converse without being interrupted by ear piercing shreiks, cries, and well, you know what I mean, just wasn't in the mood. I adore kids, but not really. If I want that vibe, I'll offer to babysit. I felt like I was in the middle of a mommy n me class at one point.
