I got to be honest, this is not going to be a good review. I ordered a half chicken (unseasoned), fries, red beans and rice, and two tenders with one being medium and the other hot. The tenders had a heavy crust but the seasonings did have some flavor to it and the heat level was nice and hot. The red beans and rice were not what I expected. The rice was mushy and the beans had no flavor even after adding salt. The bone in half chicken had a thick heavy hard crust and actually cut my upper palate. The meat was dry and had no penetration of any brine or seasoning. The skin off the thigh had no discernible flavor but might have been due to being overcooked, I couldn't even eat the leg. It has 0 flavor, the skin is crunchy (not crispy) in a bad way. The oil and grease just coats your mouth and feels terrible to eat. The hot is actually quite spicy but has no flavor either. The medium is ok in terms of spice. The fries are so bland and tastes like nothing although it's fried ok. The coleslaw is also just ok leaning towards bad and a bit weird. The red beans and rice was mushy, watery, and bland as well. This place really opened my eyes to how bad fried chicken can be. Food: We had chicken tender bricks deep fried and then saturated in spice oil to make them hot. The outside was very crisp with a thick shell of bread. They use heat oil to spice but seemingly no rub or other flavors. It was very long John silvers reminiscent minus salt. The koolaid was tasty but very sweet Banana pudding was overcooked and super sugary but decent flavor however very sweet The French fries were indeed the best thing we ate and we didn't eat them all. Bbq sauce is VERY sweet. After recovering from newly found diabetic shock, we tried the baked potato salad... which is cold baked potato with stuff... but it's all cold so there is no flavor. Much like eating cold butter. Note: They own Frasers bbq nearby... which we will not be trying based on this experience of food. This is the first time I've had Nashville hot chicken tenders and they were very good. It had a very ASMR crunch to it. The breading was thin, but not in a bad way. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small. They do have a front patio that is quite adorable. The staff was amazing 10 out of 10. I will 100% come back when I'm on this side of town. The only thing I wish I could could've had is more napkins to blot off the oils. They did have a little kit with a fork and a knife and a napkin, but it was only one and I need a little more than that. I looked around and didn't see any. I got a Korean Fried Chicken sandwich at Palma where you can tell they did their own pickling of the veggies and worked with a whole chicken to make the sandwich for $15 and that includes fries. $2 cheaper and 3x the quality. With all the Nashville Hot Chicken restaurants opening up around the Phoenix area it's important to point out that Mrs Chicken was the first in town. They don't mess around, even their mild flavor has some zing. Medium will make you feel the burn. Hot is literally habanero level. They have double X hot and triple X hot if you're one of those people always claiming "that's not very hot" I promise you won't have that complaint here. I have only tried the Chicken Sandwich and the Chicken Tenders. I've also tried the wings. Always excellent. They also offer bone in fried chicken. They have delicious sides, my personal favorite is the collard greens. If you still have room try the Gooey Butter Cake for dessert. But if that's not your thing, they have banana pudding or the mudslide. They are about to start offering frozen custard made in house. I have been looking forward to trying Mrs. Chicken for quite some time now, and I finally had the chance last Saturday afternoon after returning from St. Louis for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The customer service was 100, no doubt. But the flavor of the chicken was not there. The Nashville heat was there, but no flavor in the chicken itself. I was a little disappointed, however the nice young lady who took my order said if I write a honest review on how I like their chicken, she will allow me to try another menu item. On this visit we got 3 sandwiches. 2 medium heat and 1 mild heat. They also have chicken breasts, thighs, wings, chicken wings and tenders. The sandwich has their inhouse coleslaw, though I am not a huge coleslaw fan so I took a majority of it off and it made the sandwich better. I enjoyed the amount of spice that they each had. I got the Medium and was pretty happy with it. The fries are so delicious, I would order them by themselves. The rice and beans are a bit bland and the collard greens taste a bit like salty brussels sprouts so I probably wouldn't get either of those again. One of our friends had raved about this place so we had to give it a try. The wait on the food can be up to 15 or 20 minutes. We understood everything is freshly made and that depending on the time of day, they can get an influx of orders, affecting the wait time. It smelled so good we couldn't wait to get home, opting to eat it in the car while it was still hot. We bit into the warm sandwich and - WOW! The chicken sandwich, stuffed with a perfect balance of cole slaw and their honky tonky sauce, was out of this world delicious. The yummy helping of Provel cheese just melts over the crispy battered chicken that's sandwiched between two heavenly brioche buns. We went with medium spice on the sandwich and, as avid spicy food lovers, we can say that it has quite a kick to it ! A kick that we found quite enjoyable. For us personally, any more spice would run the risk of ruining the flavor. The fries are well seasoned and have just the right amount of crunchy outside and soft inside. We highly recommend the wings as well. They are large, juicy, and battered to perfection. We happily slipped into a food coma after. The only reason I will bring it down a star was because during our last visit, we received a sandwich with dry, overcooked chicken. It was too disappointing to finish. I pulled over to a local park, blasted my music, and had a picnic in my car. Overall, the sandwich and fries were great. I tried the HOT two piece dark chicken (leg, thigh) with mustard slaw. My chicken came with shattering crisp exterior and a wonderfully moist juicy interior. At first I thought it wasn't so hot but the heat is accumulating and got really hot fast. I thought it was very tasty hot fried chicken. I only had genuine Nashville Hot Fried Chicken that was actually made in Nashville once. This chicken did differ to me but it still was good chicken that was spicy and it was priced very reasonably. Here comes the bad part- the thing that they called butter cake. AWFUL! It was NOT butter cake.
