They have a variety of foods to choose from. Calamari appetizer was yum. Cooked to a perfect crisp. Not sure if I like the pizza too much. The crust is really thin and the toppings don't stay on the pizza. The crust was good though. There's indoor dining and outside. It can get pretty loud inside. The food here is always yummy! Unfortunately, the service is a hit or miss. Sometimes they will be quick at first but then forget about you once you get some food on your table. This time our server took a while and only checked on us once. Other than the service, I love going here because of the elegant, romantic vibe at night (I usually go during dinner time). Though our visit landed on a busy Friday night, Doppio Concord's General Manager promptly surveyed the packed restaurant and located seating at a nice table in the bar area. Her warmly accommodating vibe was followed by that of our charming server Oleg. Without hesitation, he arrived with water and courteously welcomed us to the restaurant. Once our drink and appetizer orders were placed, we took in the casual elegance and pleasant ambiance of the overall restaurant. Very fun, upbeat atmosphere with exciting buzz. Best of all, Doppio Concord seems to pride itself on swift delivery: our tasty Bruschetta arrived without delay and shortly after, our delicious Calzone and Pera Salad, which I opted to top with fresh shrimp. Despite high customer volume, Oleg consistently swung by to ensure all was to our satisfaction. In addition, he cleared empty plates, glasses and kept our drinks topped off. Every pasta dish we tried was delicious, and the Aperol Spritz was perfectly made--refreshing and just the right amount of bitter and sweet. Great family atmosphere and the food is decent. It is different because it has a Southern flare which explains the oxtails on the menu. Since I was having brunch with someone who doesn't drink we opted for 1 of the 2 mocktails on the menu. It looked much prettier than it tastes but if you like tart then this is for you. I think my favorite part was the arugula salad. The simplicity with the pear made it perfect and refreshing for Summer. Our server was timely and great at offering suggestions from the menu. I didn't care for the pizza as the crust seemed spongy and soft. Maybe this is the way it's actually served in Italy. I guess I'm just used to NY style pizza so I'm always comparing. Came in for lunch with the family and can't say I was impressed. There are so many Michelin signs and awards on their window, so it was a big let down. It's a rainy Wednesday, so it was not busy whatsoever. I got the spaghetti pescatore and the squid and octopus was cooked well, but the handmade spaghetti was too chewy. The calamari app was good, the pieces were tender and fried well-- not greasy, but the meatballs app came out cold. Service was great-- 5 stars. I brought my mother here on Mother's Day since she specifically asked for this restaurant, since we enjoyed it last Mother's Day. Unfortunately, this was a time that I now realize we will not be returning. How do you have a special on Mother's Day, and when the mother orders their food, they are the last to get served? Also, she ordered the lobster pasta that was special for this day, and you gave her an overcooked lobster with a claw, and no way to even get the meat inside the claw? Let's start from the beginning. Came in around 2:30 on Mother's Day, asked how long the wait would be for a table of 4. They said no wait, perfect. We all arrived and asked to be seated outside, and they gave us a table. Yes it was in the sun and we said it was okay cause it was, but sitting out there for a while was a lot for my parents sensitive skin so we asked if it was okay to move over to a table that just cleared out that was in the shade but also said it was okay if that wasn't possible no stress! But the waitress assured us it was alright, but we would also be moving waiters, whom she also said it was okay. This man was rude and unattentive. We didn't get greeted at all, which I thought was fine, I mean, we are changing tables, probably annoying. Okay, whatever, he ended up getting our drinks and throughout our time at the table ordering appetizers, drinks, and full meals he only checked on our table one time and that was to see if my partner's drink needed to be refilled and he didn't ask my parents although both my mother and I had run out of our drinks, Mind you this is the first and only drink we ordered, we didnt even get a chance. And he would cross our table a lot of times throughout our meal, never once checking in. Our meals and appetizers were brought in by other people, who also seemed to do more than our actual waiter. Our old waitress walked up with our new male waiter, and she checked in on us, and he pretended he wasn't there; he was looking everywhere else. Again, we said it was okay if we didn't move; if this wasn't possible, that would have been alright, and we said that each time. If he didn't want us at that spot, it would have been okay, but this was embarrassing to have my parents come up for a celebration of my mother, and the service and quality of food were terrible. And I'm paying over 200 for what we received is criminal. I will attach photos of the food, and I will let you make your judgment. I ordered regina carbonara, and that was the saddest carbonara I have ever eaten, and I love carbonara. This was not something I expected from a place that would charge 22 dollars for this plate. The lobster special was 33, I think. This felt like a robbery. The appetizers, the Brussels sprouts, and the asparagus were good. But if you're gonna charge those high prices, maybe have better service, cause I would have even felt better paying 200 plus for what we received. Ultimately, shame on y'all for even deciding to be open if that was the service you were showing; we could have appreciated my mother somewhere else. The fettucine with oxtail tasted like squishy fettucine noodles with Barbacoa from chipotle mixed with it. The margherita pizza was super floppy and tasted forgettable. The funniest part? Probably the last time I'll be dining here. 7months later (from my last visit) the manager is still the worst part of this establishment. My husband and I took our children out to eat.. the inside was completely empty (it's a random Wednesday so I get it) we chose to sit outside since we had our one year old twins with us and they can be a little loud and easily bored. There were two other guests outside.. Thats 3 paying tables as your dinner crowd. Our oldest daughter brought some snacks from another shop in the veranda. We had no idea they don't allow outside food but she was snacking on fries while we waited. However we closed the food up without being told and later the manager comes to tell us it's not allowed--after it's no longer an issue.. I assured her our daughter would be ordering and dining from Doppio and the manager wasn't satisfied with that acknowledgement.. like we're not going to throw our items away but we don't mind closing them up. But let's play what if? What if my littlest ones needed a different meal that they don't accommodate, whether it's a baby puree or expressed breast milk. Would we not be allowed to dine? The food isn't good enough to keep returning and having to deal with her.. but again the wait staff are lovely and attentive. read more

Nope, still not good. Marguerite Pizza was burnt on the bottom & the entire pizza was soggy. The red sauce did not taste good either. Never thought you could mess up red sauce. The ten year old and and I came here for lunch. We had the vegetarian Burrata which had hazelnuts, garlic scented bread, greens and a honey drizzle. Which was fabulous. We ran out of bread and one of the servers approached our table and offered more. We also ordered the fried artichokes which were delicious, definitely wouldn't have said no to a double order. Our final item was the potato croquettes, they were small, cheesy potato filled balls of goodness, with a perfectly crusty exterior. The sauce appeared to be a cream sauce, only feedback is that the sauce was a bit heavy, a contrasting flavor would have been a nice addition, but clearly personal preference. We also ordered a weekly special mocktail, we think it had zombie in the name, could have drank a gallon of it. The food overall was delicious and decadent. The staff monitoring the tables were super attentive. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. We had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. Located inside the Veranda complex, parking can be challenging. Lots of Tesla EV chargers in the back with a few empty spaces but other than that you may need to drive around a few time. The restaurant is very modern with a great open view of the patio and outside area. If you're looking for a quiet romantic dining experience, this may not suit you as it can get quite loud in the foyer area. The food here is exceptional. The starters (fried calamari, truffle fries and broccolini) were done to perfection. The Lasagna was very good, but the filling was a bit lacking. Lot of creativity with their thin crust pizza, and their squid ink pasta was one of the best I had (pasta was not mushy, but cooked enough where there's still a bite to it). We did have to ask a few times for additional bread (not sure why there was a delay) but eventually it came. We were seated, we were greeted, and our orders taken: Sprite, Red Wine, Truffle Fries, Kid's Pasta, and the Doppio Zero pizza. Fries came out kind of quickly, as did the drinks. However, our kid's pasta AND pizza took nearly 40 minutes. There were 2 other tables around us that were sat AFTER our orders were even taken (a 2-top and a 4-top) and those 2 tables had their food at LEAST 15 minutes before we did. How is it that a kid's entree and a pizza would take this long? And after other tables who were seated AFTER us? Even the nice couple sitting next to us noticed and felt bad. The server, to his credit, did admit that this was an issue and that I indeed was correct in my observation. He apologized and offered a dessert on the house. However, a manager never spoke with us and I was clearly very frustrated (and the both of us were HUNGRY). It shouldn't take this long for 2 entrees, let alone one of them being a KIDS order. Now I wonder if the server just forgot to put our entree orders in? hmmm ... Though the food is decent here, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone taking someone on a date, or with your family, or, like me, a single mom and their child - not sure if it was because we were already labeled as a party that wouldn't spend much. There's several Doppio Zeroes around the Bay Area, all great. The Concord spot is large and offers a cozy atmosphere with mood lighting. Perfect for a casual night out. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating. Their full bar and wine selection complement the dining experience well. Fast service for lunch, including on weekends. They usually aren't too packed unless there's a game or a dinner rush. The highlight is undoubtedly the pizza, made fresh right before your eyes in the giant oven in the back. The pizzas are thin and chewy with a fair stretch, which may not be your thing if you love a crunchy bottom. There's a nice selection of condiments like chili flakes, Parmesan, and spicy oil to customize. I came to Doppio Zero on a Friday evening for my best friend's sisters' birthday celebration. The restaurant was packed but luckily we had a reservation and were seated outdoors. The ambience of this restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and it had a lively/cheerful atmosphere. I ordered the fettuccine short ribs while my best friend ordered the fettuccine porcini. Both pastas tasted decent, though I thought they were lacking flavor. I did like how the noodles were fresh and had a nice bounce/chew to them. However, I don't think it was worth $24 for each pasta. I was able to try the Doppio Zero pizza which I loved because the combination of burrata cheese and prosciutto added another layer of flavor to the pizza. If I were to ever come back to this restaurant, I would get the pizza rather than the pasta. Additionally, one issue I noticed with the outdoor seating is that there were bugs in the area and even our table. One managed to get in my plate of food, but thankfully I was able to remove it. This was our first time here and I am already looking forward to returning! The service was great. Our server was attentive without being pushy and was very sweet about making sure the sun wasn't blazing on us by moving the umbrella to cover my friend and I without asking. The outdoor dining area was so pleasant and beautifully setup. It felt like we were on vacation. We ordered quite a few dishes. Some were hits and some were just okay. 1. Fried Brussels Sprouts: wouldn't get these again. We expected crispy Brussels sprouts and not the soggy mess we got. They were tasty enough, but they needed something more flavor wise and definitely needed to be crispy. I don't want a soggy dish when I'm ordering something fried. 2. Bruschetta: very fresh and flavorful! The bread wasn't insanely hard either. I would get this again. 3. Fried Artichokes: I thought "crispy and comes with an aioli? Sign me up!" when we ordered these. However, these were just okay too and lacked flavor and crispiness throughout. 4. Potato Croquettes: The star of the appetizer course! DO NOT SKIP THESE! Cheesy potato goodness with a truffle sauce. We would definitely order these again. 5. Fungo Pizza: The pizza crust is absolutely delicious. I wish there had been more flavor in this pizza and I think I'll go with a red pizza next time. However, I did enjoy it and it had a nice subtle spicy kick to it. 6. Oxtail Fettuccine: This dish was fresh and came with a generous portion. While I enjoyed it, I was indifferent. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it. It tasted like a normal pasta dish, but nothing about it stood out. However, I had some leftover and when I ate it a few hours later, it was 10/10!I would drive back there just to get the oxtail fettuccine! I think the secret was that the spices and sauce got to absorb and set a bit better. The leftovers were amazing and I wished I had more leftover! 7. Desserts (tiramisu, mango sorbet, and profiteroles): Two of the desserts were tasty. My friend enjoyed her mango sorbet. The tiramisu was yummy, but nothing outstanding that I would want to get it again. We shared the profiteroles and it's basically the profiteroles buried in vanilla and chocolate whipped cream. We both agreed that while it wasn't horrible, it wasn't great either. Soggy profiteroles buried in cream wasn't the best. Overall, a great visit and a satisfying meal. One side note for the restaurant: when you ask if we wanted some grated Parmesan with our meal, we were expecting freshly grated Parmesan. We didn't expect the Parmesan "powder" in a shaker bottle like they give at round table or Pizza Hut. Heck, even Olive Garden grates the cheese fresh for you. if I could add this place to The Best Thing I Ever Ate, I absolutely would! If you love Italian food, this is the spot to go! From the start, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We actually came here because my little niece wanted pizza, and I'm so glad she did because everything we ordered was beyond delicious. Oh my goodness--the meatballs were melt-in-your-mouth tender, the sauce tasted so fresh, and the tomatoes on the bruschetta were like they had just been picked from the garden. Simply amazing! Boo on the Burrata! Now I understand why this place is sitting at a cozy 3.9 stars... Just left there, and I'm not too thrilled -- especially with the Manager. We ordered the $16 Burrata appetizer and it showed up with two tiny slices of bread that looked toasted but weren't even warm. The burrata was stone cold like it came straight from the freezer. No balsamic glaze, no EVOO -- just a lump of cheese with soft dry bread. Not exactly what I'd call an "appetizer." We each took one bite and told our server we weren't feeling it. Instead of offering to swap it out or remove it from our bill, they hit us with: "Sorry, we'll let the chef know." How about letting the bill know? According to a work colleague which happens to be Italian, Doppio Zero in Concord is one place to get really authentic Neapolitan Pizza. I came here for solo lunch after car maintenance at nearby Concord Toyota. The restaurant is huge and welcoming, like so many others at the Veranda. I started with grilled octopus as the appetizer - perfectly cooked and tender. The salad was fresh as well. It's amazing how you can enjoy eating Octopus live (Korea), raw (Japanese), or grilled (Greek, Spain, Italian). For the main, I got the Fungo Pizza. Even with 10-inch diameter, one person can finish. I liked the cheese and thyme, though I preferred sliced, stubby mushrooms as opposed to the stringy ones that reminds me of Japanese enoki. Pizza crust had some burnt parts but otherwise pleasant chewiness. It was not crispy despite being a thin crust. Definitely recommend DZ for your Neapolitan Pizza fix. There are standards needed to serve authentic one. Be sure to enjoy it dining in, as this type of pizza won't taste as good for takeout. read more

My son's pizza looked good I enjoyed the bite I had. Also the alfredo was good too, though my step daughter was not a fan. Though my my taste a little spice jazzed it up. Both kids portions were huge, so good deal on the kids menu. I really enjoyed the fig pizza. I loved the dough too. It was more tender and a chewier bite. Loved the roasted fig with ricotta and the balsamic.*chef's kiss* This is definitely my kind of pizza. The bf was not a fan, he wanted a more crispier crust and though the combination was weird. I want to say it was from a pizza oven based on the charr marks, but could have been just a really hot oven. I really enjoyed their sections/combination of pizza and would like to try them again. Had lunch there today for the second time. The food was good but the unsanitary conditions in the rest room was appalling. The last time I ate there a few months ago, the water in the shared restroom was ice cold no matter how long I allowed it to run. I chalked up to a fluke. Today, it wasn't a fluke, the water was ice cold. I spoke with Laurie the Manager, who took umbrage and attempted to throw mw out of the restaurant when I asked to her to come to the rest room to check it out and she refused, accused me of yelling at her. I intend to file a complaint with the Board of Health tomorrow. If you chose to patronize this place, just beware. read more

Fantastic, authentic Italian food! I ordered from their specials and got the pulled pork ravioli; it was amazing and so unique! Good sized portions to share. Lots of pasta and pizza options. The only downside was it was really cold and drafty inside. read more
